  1. They may have a tough schedule left but after tonight they will have 2 games in hand on the Leafs. Being 6 points back is not a lot to make up considering how poorly the Leafs are playing. What makes me hopeful is that Florida and Toronto are both in the bottom 5 goals against. They have been playing well against good teams during this stretch minus the Colorado game.
  2. They might not have to be that good. The way the Leafs are playing they will be lucky to finish .500. They are near the bottom of the league in goals against. Florida is right behind them so the Sabres and the Habs do have a shot.
  3. What I was trying to get at was how a lot of teams turn it up as the playoffs get near. Where as the Leafs don't seem to have another gear. I look at Eichel this season and how he has been carrying the Sabres. You look at the Leafs and I don't see Matthews, Marner or Nylander playing the same.
  4. I disagree. A lot of other teams work hard for good majority of the season.Anytime the Leafs get down in a game or have any adversity they fold.
  5. I blame the Leafs play on the big 3 who for some reason to seem to care much other then to score.
  6. As much as a lot of hound on the Sabres for being bad at least they try most games. The Leafs are playing against a beer league goalie and have showed next to no effort. I am enjoying watching them lose.
  7. I know most of you want to dismiss strength of schedule but next season the odds of playing 8 teams .500 or worse is not likely to happen again.
  8. A refurb is putting lipstick on a pig. A new stadium brings higher revenues which is what the NFL and the Bills would like. Ticket prices could easily double with a new stadium. If they move downtown, they limit tailgating to Bills owned lots and limits the table slamming and ketchup dousing.
  9. I'm guessing the biggest reason so many of you don't want it downtown is the fear of limiting tailgating. Having tailgating in Bills owned lots only helps in limiting the table slamming and drunken behavior. It also makes it that the Bills get all the profits from tailgating.
  10. No there isn't much difference between his percentage last year and 60%. If you look at the QBs who made the playoffsover the last few seasons, the lowest completion percentage was Rogers this year at 63%. Yes Allen was better this season but still not good enough to be the " franchise" as many of you call him. I understand a lot of you are afraid that if Allen isn't the answer of starting over again.
  11. There is a difference between putting one downtown over one in OP. The tailgating will be limited, so fans will have to go the bars and restaurants around the stadium. No more private lots, it most likely just be tailgating in Bills owned lots. As much as fans don't want to hear it, the Bills and NFL owners are always looking for ways to make more money.
  12. Sounds like another coach in the league I know. One who coaches WNY team
  13. The game is usually done by 10 pm. I don't see what the big deal is. Is 10 pm past peoples bed times?
  14. Allen did improve over his first season. It also helped that the Bills played 4 of the 5 worst teams in the league. What should worry some homers in here is how bad Allen played against the better defenses in the league this year. Allen needs to make a big jump next season and I am talking close to the top 10 in the league. I don't get why Bills homers always have such low expectations.
  15. Why the hate for Mahomes? I personally want K.C. to win. I want to see a high scoring offense win. After how last years Super bowl ended, I don't want to see a ground and pound team win.
  16. I have always felt they have focused too much on the defense. The way the league is now having an above average offense goes a lot farther then a top defense. All the teams left were in the top half for points and offense total. I know a lot of Bills fans wish it would go back to the way it used where defense matters but I don't see that changing.
  17. A little each season isn't good enough. I get that a lot of you don't want to start over again but by year 3 Allen should make a big jump. He should be in the top half for QBs. If not they should start looking for better. Why so many Bills fans have low expectations is beyond me.
  18. That isn't good enough. At some point he needs to make a big jump. The playoffs has shown you need you QB and offense to put up more points then what the Bills averaged. 17-19 points is not good enough. Next season will be a big test. There is no way they have such an easy schedule playing so many teams below .500 again.
  19. @Joe in Winslow what is so funny about what I said? The Sabres have one of the best home records. If they can improve their road record they can get back in the playoff race. If they can go .500 the rest of the season on the road it will help them get back in it Right now they are only 7 points out. Its funny how you will BILLieve in anything the Bills do but look down on the Sabres. They rebuilt the defense last off season. They have a good goalie in their system that will solve that issue. Their biggest issue right now is scoring. Part of that is cause Oloffson and Skinner are out.
  20. I don't get the obsession with adding to the defense. The Bills should be making the offense the priority in FA and the draft. These playoffs have shown you need to score points to win. The Bills offense didn't do enough of that.
  21. For the ones who are down on the Sabres for not being better, have any of you looked at their home record. On home ice they have one of the better records in the league. If they can figure out how to win more on the road they can be right in the playoff mix again.
  22. I am hoping for a Green Bay/KC super bowl. I have no interest in watching Titans/ 49ers game. I want to see high passing offenses. I don't understand the love for smash mouth Rockpile days football.
  23. My only concern is top defenses are hard to keep together for multiple seasons. I can see in a few seasons the defense taking a few steps back. Yes the Bills are in good position to be a playoff team but I don't think they are close at all. Til Allen and the offense can prove they can score more then 19 points week in and week out I doubt the Bills will go far when they make the playoffs. I hope K.C. wins it all cause I like seeing high powered offenses. I don't know why so many Bills fans want to go back to the Rockpile days with lots of running the ball and great defense.
  24. Blue collar is two words I am tired of hearing. For some reason a lot of Bills fans seem to like using those words to describe their team.
  25. Not surprised. The Sabres have high numbers when on national TV too.
