Yeah I mean it ain’t like we ignore the trenches, we just can’t identify great players for either side of it.

This 9ers defense is so nasty.

Our first rounder this year couldn’t even get on the field. Not a lot of Super Bowls are won by teams who field just one super-generational talent. On this team we have Josh and….?

McBeane's investment in the D Line last five seasons

Ed Oliver has to be the closest to elite I’ve ever seen from a JAG. But he’s never taken over and dominated a game and it’s pretty obvious that he’s never going to. -
For me it definitely helps dull the pain. Well, partially the venting, partially all the pills and alcohol 😅

Yeah I said it in game thread but our ability to evaluate talent needs to be called into serious question. Beane bought a lot of goodwill by hitting on the Josh pick but his pro scouting and drafting have both been shaky at best all over the roster. For the number of high draft picks on defense to not turn up one single game changer is extremely concerning. Like, not every pick can be elite but that many swings to miss on every one? -
I’m over this defensive scheme. Bring in a new DC.

Yeah like others my chief concern is that this defense is playing the game exactly as McD wants it to be played. Even if Frazier is let go this offseason, does McD turn over the defense to an experienced coordinator with a different philosophy? It would be like the situation when we hired Rex and had Schwartz — two different types of defensive minds just aren’t going to co exist. I don’t see that happening. If he hires someone else they’re still gonna run the scheme as McD wants it to be run. -
McD has some admirable qualities, but is he cut out to win a championship? I don’t think so at this point. He’d be better suited to helping another floundering franchise rebuild. We’ve got an elite, generational QB being wasted on a soft culture and routinely poor in game management. I don’t see how he gets fired this year, but I honestly don’t think a coordinator swap changes the problem at the top right now.
