  1. This roster is a 2-4 win team this year without Allen. With cousins, it would be 4-8.
  2. You’re really going out on a limb huh? 😆
  3. There's another version of me in some alternate timeline where all of Jerry's "almost sacks" actually got home and brought the QB down. I'm a much happier person in that timeline.
  4. I mean Tua did make the Pro Bowl over Josh last year 😂
  5. I mean we've all seen it happen-- usually within the last two minutes of a game/half when the head coach can't "officially" challenge a call. I'm being facetious when I say it's "because" of the announcer's making a big deal about it-- but the NFL is certainly tuned into these broadcasts behind the scenes and if the TV crew is pointing out a bad call, it stands to reason they'd be more inclined to intervene, no? Or do the referees just get together on the field during two-minute breaks and muse amongst themselves whether they should be challenging their own calls?
  6. See but the thing is: as long as you have a timeout left you can call it and then wait for the announcers/ broadcast crews to start making a big stink about the call on the field. If it's a truly borderline play, then they'll probably just review it-- challenge or not. I mean unless you're the Bills and Collinsworth is on the announce crew that game. But otherwise, it's a valid move 😅
  7. At this point we've at least got to give some of the youth and dark horse FA's a chance to break out and see what they got. What's the point of having guys like Shorter and Isabel on the roster if we just scoop up a big name that's gonna bury them ever further on the depth chart? It's a transition year anyway -- not ideal to be here in this situation but it is what it is and if by any chance we DID hit on any of these guys, we got to at least give them a fair shot to find out.
  8. 100% If even one of Beane’s defensive picks was a DPOY type of player, a guy who can change the game even when the opposition does everything they can to take him out of it? Probably we’d at least have a trip to the dance by now, if not have won it all.
  9. This is obviously a rebuild and reset year. I’m not saying we should have swung for the fences, but did we add the right prospects to have the strongest chance at top-shelf production? That remains to be seen. This was a very McBeane draft, and to this point they’ve been great at adding JAG starters and tier 2 or tier 3 guys. Really the only truly elite player they’ve drafted is Allen. (It’s debatable but Tre might have been that guy too, if injuries didn’t derail his trajectory). If you always do what you’ve always done, you’ll probably get what you’ve always got. I like this draft myself - in theory. But I’ve liked a lot of McBeane drafts in theory and ended up very underwhelmed with the results. 🤷‍♂️
  10. Not for nothing, but just about every draft pick in history was “promising” at one point in time, lol. Can’t say this lot is any more or less so in that regard, but I’ll give you that he definitely spread the love to multiple positions of need. See but that’s kinda the song that remains the same isn’t it?
  11. I thought about giving up alcohol this year for my New Year’s resolution. I can see now I was right to not do that.
  12. That’s certainly one of the signings of all time.
  13. And how’d that work out? Also, one guy who snags just 13% of your team’s offensive snaps isn’t much of a commitment to over the top speed. You disagree?
  14. “Game-breaking speed is overrated”, that’s what gran-papi used to say and he was a fella who knew about these things!
  15. They don’t call it a “process” for nothing. Only question is whether you still trust it at this point… But love em or hate em, McBeane sure do stick to it.
  16. But he’s going to a team where he can false start 90% of his snaps each game, so odds are in his favor to excel there
  17. The first three posts I read on here about him were “anyone but Coleman” so now he’s ruined for me. 😭
  18. We have definitely been lacking in the “go up and get it department”, and for quite some time now. If he can be that kind of guy, Josh will throw it up for him a dozen times a game.
  19. I mean that’s just cutting off your nose to spite your face. This team needs top shelf talent, man. We need all pro level players that are t Josh Allen. I’ll take it at any position, even punter (tho not at this draft pick, obviously lol)
  20. I agree, but the draft isn’t over after pick 33. If we take Dejean here and still get someone like Franklin later in the second, thats the better combination of value based on what’s left, you have to agree with that. If we’ve waited until now, we can still add a player soon-ish. We already missed out on the top end prospects. No undoing that. Now we make the best of what’s left.
  21. Id take a realistic chance at a top 10 wide receiver too. Personally I would have loved to leap frog Jax for BTJ, but well here we are. Which of the remaining prospects is more likely to be a stud receiver than Dejean is to be a stud DB? And I’m not trying to be snarky, I’m honestly curious who you value at that level?
  22. Haha, but even if that’s true.. Dejean seems like he realistically has a chance to be the 2nd best safety in football. Especially in this defense. Which of the remaining wide receivers seems likely to be a top 10 WR?
  23. It’s crazy if you would rather the team reach for a suboptimal prospect instead of taking one with much higher potential to make a difference. Beane’s miscalculations at WR up to now is not a good reason to want to see him make another potential error. I mean if you’ve got a strong and high opinion on the remaining WR prospects, I get it. And that’s fine. But if I’m looking at it pragmatically, I’m not picking WR at 33 just to do it. We’re obviously going to add bodies to this position in this draft, but I’ve got no problem if they wait until 60 or move up from 60 to do it. It’s same difference to me.
  24. I feel like people have gone a little crazy all off-season honing in on WR. Yes that’s an obvious needs, but we need a lot of help at several positions, including DB. Just take the best player. We need top shelf players more than anything else. If Dejean can perform at an elite level in the McD system, I’d take that over the 7th or 8th best WR prospect.
  25. Scary thing is that if any team could recover from that level of stupidity, KC is probably the one team that could. Andy Reid has always maximized the talents of his QB's, and with that many picks they'd find him someone who could execute his offense with at least a Donovan McNabb/ Alex Smith type of production.
