I truly can’t fathom having a generational QB like Josh Allen and asking him to routinely throw at or behind the line of scrimmage as a go to play.. for several seasons in a row. Hope they open things up this half. -

If the defense can’t force a punt here they won’t for the rest of the game. Won’t matter if we got the TD instead of FG if we can’t get them off the field anyway. -

Henry just manhandles us early in the year. We’re too undersized to stop him. Later in the year the old man gets tired and we have more of a fighting chance. -

These at or behind the line WR passes have been terrible for years but we just won’t quit them. Crazy. -

Here we go with the unforced errors. -
I think Josh is the most foolproof of any option, including Mahomes. Josh was able to make a Ken Dorsey offense no. 2 in the league. He got Daboll, a multiple-time flameout as OC, a head coaching job. Mahomes has the benefit of being in one of the best offensive systems by the best offensive player caller of all time. Lamar has had the benefit of the offense being tailored just for him. But if you want a sure thing and you’re picking from the three, you pick JA every time. Not about being a better or worse QB, it’s just you know that no matter what other variables you land with- he’s going to get the offense to produce big every time. He is the “cheat code”.

Rashee Rice accepts six game suspension to start the season
Yobogoya! replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
Rice was coming off an abysmal year where he barely cracked 3 years per rush. He might have been cooked from a professional standpoint anyway, the DV video just made it so that it no longer made sense for anyone to associate with him anyway. Now, as ever, if you're a player who does something stupid you're graded on a scale about how useful you are vs how bad a thing it was that you did (or were accused of doing). Yep, exactly. If he was a fringe player tho, the NFL likely wouldn't have to impose a suspension at all because again: teams will just waive you and forget you're there and then your career is done. A PS player won't get the benefit of preferential league treatment, cause he'll be out of the league. -
Special Teams is a fair concern going into the year. Between these points as well as an untested punter, they seem primed to have another “whelming” season for that unit.

After this past game, might be more appropriate to call it a courtesy “flush”

If you are cutting Hamlin, do it now...

QB, mostly. Obviously there's more to it- But if you put the cheat code known as Josh Allen on any Doug Whaley team, chances are there's a reversal of fortunes. -

People on this forum like to s--- on Whaley, but he had an eye for talent. Particularly in pro personnel. -
Does there need to be a rethinking of the basic D?
Yobogoya! replied to oldmanfan's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think it's fair to say that philosophically, Belichick and Spagnulo run a system that's the polar opposite of this one. And combined they are responsible for 6 of the last 11 super bowl wins (I know the success of those teams kind of speaks for itself). Bend/don't break hasn't historically been the key to unlocking successful championship runs. The talk at the end of last season was we might finally see something of a renaissance regarding the way McDermott viewed his personnel and defensive concepts. But I just don't think that guy has it in him to stray too far from his comfort zone. -
Way below the vet minimum, player's union would never allow it.

I love how the passive-aggressive negotiating through the media has just gotten even more passive-aggressive over the last few years. "Thinking" of asking for a trade. "Considering" to sever his relationship with the team. Camp Parsons' leaks are going extra thin with the veiled threats, huh? Lol.

No matter how mundane, when football is back it means we can finally get our fix...

He knows a thing or two about how to generate interceptions. So that’s a plus.

McDermott not in Top 10 of NFL coaches per PFF.

The Eagles didn't just move on for not winning a championship with Reid-- I think a lot of people forget the circumstances there. They moved on after they spent big in a 2011 off-season where they were called the "dream team", and then proceeded to miss the playoffs and win only 8 games. This was followed by a 2012 season which was a complete implosion: they won 4 games that year and finished with two QB's on their active roster: a washed up Mike Vick and... Trent Edwards. Most coaches no matter how good they are, will be fired after two seasons of that nature when the QB situation is in flux and you're prime for a rebuild. The Bills will always be likely to keep McDermott if he maintains a stranglehold on the division with double digit wins and Josh as a healthy active starter, even if the playoff success is middling. But if we have a disaster-type season like the 2012 Eagles did? I think it shouldn't even be a question to move on.
