Nick In England did you get any feed back

Fair enough, but I will correct you on one thing... Wade Phillips was clearly in favor of Flutie and in fact never wanted to start RJ. What cost him his job was that Ralph wanted to play RJ. Somewhat understandable since he made a $25 million invesetment in him. Nevertheless, Wade was fairly clear on who the starter was. He just took a lot of pressure from his owner.
-
Agreed. As a Bills fan, I want him to stay. As an Eric Moulds fan, I hope he latches onto a solid team where he can showcase his talent. I just have a hard time believing that Bills fans are so quick to show him the door, that's all.
-
EM is gone because our management and coaches are a bunch of morons. But I'll get over it
-
If I were Moulds, I would have my bags packed already. People are so quick to run him out of town when he still can be one of the more productive receivers in this league. Once he goes to a team with a decent offense that produces more than 9 points a game, people will realize what his value is.
-
Bottom line, Mularkey hurt the team by sitting Moulds. He's an idiot.
-
Well... when you are playing for a veteran team and a veteran coach, it's hard for a rookie to crack the lineup. Marv had Moulds cemented to his bench during the first few years of his career. He was just a punt returner. Once given a chance, Moulds excelled. And you are blowing his crying WAY out of proportion.
-
And the Bills went 29-19 thereafter. Be careful what you wish for. I hope the Bills do whatever they can to sign Moulds.

The offense did not do the D any favors int he 2nd half.
-
Yeah because Defensive linemen don't have to follow any plays. You are a moron.

A Few Quick Thoughts About The Game...
Dawgg replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm not absolving Gray from guilt, I think this defense definitely has its share of problems. And that certainly wasn't why I called you presumtuous... I was simply saying that you tying Schobel's confusion to Gray's effectiveness as a coordinator is presumptuous. He showed he was an NFL-caliber DC last season... when nobody had any complaints about him. This year, nobody in particular is doing well on this team. You explicitly said... "TD? MM? Nope. Imo, the biggest culprit for this disaster was clearly Gray." MM had just as much if not more to do with this than Gray. You can't just be productve as an offense for the first 10 minutes of the game, mail it in, and expect the defense to win it for you by holding a lead. You need to continue to consume clock and control the ball. That's what good teams do -- teams such as Carolina, Pittsburgh, New England. In Buffalo, our offense played lights out for most of the first quarter. Thereafter, here is what they did: PUNT FUMBLE PUNT PUNT INTERCEPTION (at goal line) PUNT PUNT PUNT PUNT 9 possessions (7 of which resulted in punts) 2 critical turnovers coming away empty in scoring position Not a single point scored Doesn't exactly make it easy for the defense. -

I know you are passionate about the QB issue and I agree with many of your points. However, in this case, your point is irrelevant. I don't care who the QB is, you simply don't make that call in that situation. -
Biggest misconception. Apparently Marvin bombed his interview in the eyes of TD. He would have come to Buffalo had he been offered the job. No question about it.

There was no choice in the matter. AJ and JB were best friends. Wherever JB went, AJ would follow. -

False. Before that play, Willis McGahee was averaging 3.6 yards per carry. That's 10.8 yards every 3 carries. Given 3 chances, what are the odds of a TD? Very good. -

You are now comparing Brett Favre and his offense over the past 10 years to the 2005 Buffalo Bills. That is quite laughable. Favre is (or at least was) a prolific TD passer who averaged 30+ TDs per game. He also had Bubba Franks, who was an imposing red zone target. Let's also not forget that the Pakers were running the West Coast Offense, an offense that BY DESIGN replaces short runs with short passes. Compare that to yesterday's squad -- one with an offense that is cenetered around the run. What's the best Mularkey can come up with from the 3 yard line? A play action pass to Josh Reed? Oh yeah, that same guy who dropped a TD pass last week? The same guy with 5 career TDs? That play was horseshIt... -
THANK YOU. This is exactly correct. Most people are quick to cast blame on Jerry Gray and his defense but the reality is the personnel just is not there. The boneheaded playcalling on the offensive side of the ball adds to the defensive problems as drives are rarely sustained.

Inside the 10-15 yard line is a lot different than inside the 5. I may agree with you if the Bills had the ball at the 15 yard line. But with 1st and goal at the 3? Not a chance. -

Is that you, Greg Williams? That play action was one of the stupidest calls of the season. Bottom line. Double covering Chambers was a dumb move but the Bills had no time to set their defense with the time running out. -

Many of the problems in the red zone problems are due to penalties... holding, illegal motion, false start, chop block, etc... Those penalties have an equal probability of occuring with a run and a pass. I would in fact argue we are less likely to get a holdling penalty when the linemen have to run block than pass block. Moreover, this line has shown that they are much better at run blocking than pass blocking. All I ask if for our coaching staff to do the math. Willis is averaging 3.9 yards per carry. Before that particular play that resulted in an interception, Willis had 21 carries for 75 yards (an average of 3.6 per carry). The team needs 3 yards to score. The team had 3 chances to score. How can the team score with the highest probability? Isn't that the job of the coaches? You run low percentage plays when you are desperate. Not when you have a 21 point lead!!! WAKE UP COACH MULARKEY!!!! -

1-4-OAK4 (6:17) L.Tomlinson up the middle to OAK 1 for 3 yards (T.Washington). 2-1-OAK1 (5:38) L.Tomlinson up the middle to OAK 1 for no gain (K.Morrison). 3-1-OAK1 (4:59) D.Brees pass to E.Parker for 1 yard, TOUCHDOWN. N.Kaeding extra point is GOOD, Center-D.Binn, Holder-M.Scifres. Note that the play you refer to was on third and goal. The Chargers were ahead 27-10. Only after the first two runs failed, did they run the play action pass at the goal line. Marty Schottenheimer played it smart. Not our coach. -

Running it down their throat at first and goal from the 3 yard line is not coaching scared. Running a finesse play action from the 3, on the other hand, is coaching scared. Look at the good coaches around the league and none of them would have called that play in a similar situation. None. I like Mularkey as a head coach, but that doesn't mean I have to like that call. It was boneheaded. -

Here is what your beloved offense did after the final TD to Lee Evans. PUNT FUMBLE PUNT PUNT INTERCEPTION (at goal line) PUNT PUNT PUNT PUNT Summary: 9 possessions 0 points 2 turnovers 7 punts -

That was a horrible call, given the score and the point in the game. Absolutely horrbile and that is not a knee-jerk reaction. If this were the West Coast offense or some derivitave of the run and shoot, I can understand it. But that is not the identity of this offense. It's wrong on many levels. 1. This offense is designed to run the ball, play physical football and force the issue even if teams know that a run is coming. 2. We have a franchise back who can move the line of scrimmage. By passing on first down, coaches are basically saying they don't think our back can gain 3 yards given 3 chances. 3. They had a lead. All the more reason to protect the football and ensure that we put points on the board (be it 3 or 6). 4. Yes, had the play succeeded nobody would be complaining. BUT THE PLAY FAILED. And failed miserably. Why? The coaches decided to get cute. The percentage play with a lead, a young QB and the best RB in the NFL, is to run run run at the goal line. In short, I think it was a stupid call and felt that way the moment I saw Losman execute the fake. Thats just me though
