  1. Have you seen his stats? That's why. Nobody is saying positive things about Alex Smith either and he was the #1 overall pick.
  2. Agreed. But you still have to let JP get his lumps. I agree that this is an explicit act to win the game, which should theoretically always be the underlying objective. But with the season practicall over and a young QB, one would think you should take your lumps while you can.
  3. Jeff Patchen (Ludlow, MA): You are obviously struggling with getting the team some offensive linemen who can do the job, what are you going to do about it the rest of the year and next year? Isn't Ross Tucker still available? Tom Donahoe: Our personnel department has done a good job of addressing the offensive line every year over the last three off-seasons. It has been addressed in the draft and with some quality free agents. We will continue to work to get our offensive line exactly where we want it. We are making progress, but we are not where we want to be. Ross Tucker was with us in training camp and did a good job for us last year, but in our estimation we had better players on the roster to keep for this season.
  4. Far from the truth.
  5. Agreed, I'd take him over what we have seen the past 8 years. And no, I don't agree with you that we should take Rob Johnson back.
  6. Agreed. Last year, one of the biggest strenghts of the Bills top-ranked D was Gray's half-time adjustments. This year, the talent just isn't there. No Spikes. No Pat Williams. No Ron Edwards. No Sam Adams. McGee has missed some time. Add to that we have an aging secondary with 2 safeties on the wrong side of 30... you're not going to stop many people in this league.
  7. You can end that talk right there. Kubiak has turned down numerous interview offers because he is very particular about moving his family far away from their home... I tend to doubt he'd move his family as far away as Buffalo.
  8. The bigger quesion is whether Donahoe will be around to make that decision...
  9. Nah, I think this topic is over, just like Rob Johnson's career was by the age of 30.
  10. Linemen? Who need linemen? Let's draft another receiver.
  11. Isn't that the truth!
  12. Wow... You are a hater.
  13. If I remeber correctly, you were Rob Johnson's biggest supporter back in the day. You felt that he would be a great QB some day.... Forget statistics. Throw the win-loss record out the window, even though that favors Flutie. Let me just ask you this: Has history proven you correct?
  14. This post was hilarious.... mean, but hilarious...
  15. He made a play to win the game. Made a play when it mattered. When was the last time you saw that from a Bills QB? I can't even remember.
  16. HE WAS 39 FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!!! Of course teams aren't going to give him a starting gig. No 39 year old gets a starting gig. That doesn't mean he wasn't good in Buffalo, though.
  17. You have low standards! Like I said, Orton has done nothing to "win" games for the Bears... Flutie made numerous plays that won games for the Bills.
  18. One key difference, MDH. Orton has done nothing to win games. Flutie engineered many critical scoring drives that won games. He wasn't pretty, but made plays when they were needed. Comparing him to Orton is a big unfair because Orton is really bad.
  19. ... and where is Rob now? Nowhere to be found! It's pretty pathetic that a highly touted player such as he could no survive in the league and an over the hill player like Flutie is still considered a player worth having. Jon Gruden gave up on RJ. Steve Spurrier gave up on him. Even the Raiders sent him his walking papers.
  20. You really are a man of jokes, aren't you Jokeman? Before you gush about that awesome game RJ had, keep in mind one thing: that game was as meangless as they come. The Colts had already clinched the #2 seed in the playoffs and basically sat most of their starting players. RJ did have an awesome game, I will give you that (in fact I was at that game and enjoyed watching it).... but it was a game that meant absolutely nothing.
  21. Did you look up sacks taken per pass attempt? That would probably rank worst in team history. Rob Johnson did not know how to throw the ball away in the face of pressure. As a result, he took sacks rather than throw interceptions. And the most important stat? Wins. Look at their win-loss records.
  22. C'mon HC, You should know better! Granted Flutie was not a dominant QB in his second year and did not play at a Pro Bowl level, he had a knack for winning ballgames. He rarely turned the ball over and most importantly, made plays when they were needed. We haven't had that type of player in Buffalo in quite some time. The recent version of Bills players crumble when they are needed most.
  23. I don't know where you are going here... but if you are trying to imply RJ was better than Flutie based on these two "facts," it is quite laughable. Moreover, if you are trying to imply that Flutie and RJ were even in the same class... you get the idea
  24. Perhaps that attitude was because he has been underestimated throughout his career, so much so he had to play in the CFL? Underestimated by fans like... you
