  1. OK. Here are the linemen taken after Roscoe Parish (since they were availabe when the Bills picked). Any one of these would have been a better pick IMO. DT Jonathan Babineaux (Atlanta): Solid player in the defensive line rotation but stuck behind a Pro Bowler in Rod Coleman. Defintely would have made sense to take him, considering Ron Edwards was hurting and Pat Williams left via free agency. OT Adam Terry (Baltimore): A lot of folks on this board were projecting him in a Bills uniform (not that it means anything). He is second on the Ravens depth chart as a "swing tackle" and has shown that he can play both tackle positions. He could have challenged Gandy and would have served as valuable depth to an O-Line that was in need of desperate help. OG Evan Mathis (Carolina): Penciled in as the starting guard in Carolina's offense, one of the best rushing teams in the NFL year after year -- and who is he replacing? Tutan Reyes. He would have been very useful but we entered the draft with a false sense of security at the guard position with the likes of Bennie Anderson. OG Richie Incognito (St. Louis): Starting left guard for the Rams' high powered offense. Again, would have been useful, considering this team has not drafted and developed a young talented guard since Ruben Brown.
  2. I was misleading -- he was our "top" pick last year due to the fact that we did not have a first round draft pick. This was a team laden with skill players, begging for players that would make the squad a more physical unit. What do we do with our top-most pick? Choose an undersized WR with speed. Makes absolutely no sense.
  3. Have you always valued preseason as highly as you seem to?
  4. Preseason. Justice will turn into a very solid offensive lineman. Given the Eagles are one of the winningest franchises over the last few years, I would tend to trust their talent evaluation, particularly when it comes to linemen. Unlike the Bills, the Eagles invest in linemen on both sides of the ball (as evidenced by their first 2 picks). The Bills draft little people like top pick Roscoe Parish (who now sits 4th on the depth chart).
  5. This, I wholeheartedly agree with. John McCargo looked good playing on the same line as Manny Lawson and Mario Williams.
  6. The Bills' run defense was so pathetic that Milloy didn't really get to play safety -- he was constantly lined up at the line of scrimmage as almost a 4th linebacker. That's not the way you utilize a safety with good instincts to the ball. I trust the evalutations of guys like Rich McKay and Jim Mora, who have actually WON in this league.
  7. I'd take the best safety available.
  8. The comparisons end there.
  9. I'd rather have Reed given his age but these figures show that they clearly overpaid for his services, considering what Keyshwan got.
  10. Smart plan.... NOT
  11. What a shame. Awesome talent, gone to waste.
  12. Seattle.
  13. Lester has his head up Ralph Wilson's ass -- the only reason he has stuck around for so long. He is a glorified administrative assistant.
  14. LOVE the name.
  15. Very well said. Could not have said it better.
  16. Agreed, but these types of opinions are shunned upon here.
  17. I just think that a $29M contract for a safety is just too much cap space to devote to that position when you are a team with many needs. That's just my opinion. This team is always signing cheap journeymen offensive linemen who were previous busts or are well past their prime, yet when it comes to specialty positions like WR, RB, TE, and S, they hand out money like they're Santa Claus! Now if Whitner is a GAME CHANGING safety, perhaps he'll be worth it. I'm not holding my breath....
  18. Very few running backs come out of the gate running in their first year. Ronnie Brown will be much improved this year, just watch.
  19. You cannot be particularly bright. Let's get this straight... you fear JOEY HARRINGTON (the Rob Johnson clone) more than you fear Culpepper? ... yeah that's what I thought.
  20. There is also a difference between a rebuilding team taking a safety in the Top 10 vs a contending team taking a safety in the top 15. That difference, among other things, amounts to $7M in guaranteed money.
  21. Even IF KH gives the team a better chance to win, you have to put JP in there and give him a chance to develop. There's simply too much at stake here, given he was a first round pick. He's not going to learn much sitting on the bench -- the only way he'll learn is to play. Considering this team is not playoff caliber (unless they shock the world), the prudent move is to let JP grow and gain the respect of his teammates. If he can't do it after this year, get rid of him and move on.
  22. Rob Johnson was impressive in practice too. As you said, time will tell.
