  1. So Peter King is a good analyst and Easterbrook is not-so good. Got it. For the record, drafting corners isn't a bad thing. Passing on blue-chip linemen in favor of safeties and receivers that IS a bad thing. The McKelvin pick was a great pick... all blue-chip DTs were off the board and they got the #1 corner in the draft who has the potential to excel at 2 phases of the game. Thank God the Bills didn't do what most posters on this board wanted -- drafting a WR at #11.
  2. I actually like Dick Jauron & think he's a very good head coach. The past 2 seasons he has been coaching with 5-11 personnel and the squads have managed to overachieve.
  3. It it has been posted already, then
  4. Still don't think the Bills' offense can use him?
  5. Ah yes, I suppose McNabb doesn't hold a candle to Moon's Super Bowl rings.
  6. Hmm... do you think the stat differential "might" have something to do with the fact that Moon ran the Run & Shoot, averaging 500-600 passing attempts PER SEASON, wheres McNabb has run a variant of the West Coast Offense, averaging ~300 passing attempts per season? Nah... who needs perspective, let's just spit out stats to draw conclusions!
  7. The BIGGER mistake was following that up by passing on Tommie Harris and Vince Wilfork to take a speedy WR named Lee Evans. Both players were ripe for the taking, came from major programs and dominated at the collegiate level. Had Donahoe picked one of those players, we probably wouldn't be regretting that move so much.
  8. When the player's play on the field confirms why I didn't like the pick, it makes it difficult to stay quiet on the issue, particularly when I faced all kinds of ridicule when I spoke out right after the draft. At least Whitner is a team leader on and of the field... but McCargo has been an absolute oaf during his time here, most recently being fined for showing up out of shape.
  9. A pretty stupid post. The Bills personnel department has been the achilles heal for years. The front office has failed to maximize the value of its draft picks, made questionable free agent acquisitions, and has failed to comprehend the importance of the offensive and defensive line. If you want to cast blame, put it squarely on the front office. P.S. Do you know what Bill Belichick's record was as a HC before coaching the Patriots? 36-44 -- a whopping 45%. There's only so much a coach can do with mediocre personnel.
  10. There are plenty of "attributable" quotes here from the various intellectuals on this board who were crying for a WR at #11.
  11. It's also funny how the masses lauded Marv a genius for trading back into the first round and picking McCargo, who was obviously a reach at the time... now, as it becomes increasingly obvious that he's a first-round bust that can't beat out Kyle Williams, they'll just play childish games attacking AKC's posts.
  12. Over-pursuing on screens. Having difficulty covering tight ends. Not nearly as hard a hitter as advertised. But he sure talks a mean game. Don't get me wrong, I've seen promising things... and he is still very young and has the intelligence and tools to become an upper echelon safety. But let's not confuse him for one just yet.
  13. What Whitner lacks on the field, he certainly makes up for it in his leadership and talk. That said, I don't expect him to get 10 picks a year... just elevate his overall game. This year, the excuses are over now that the DL has been "addressed." I look forward to much improved play from hiim.
  14. Just because the Bills chose him in the first round doesn't make him a first round lineman... it was a reach in the truest sense. Thanks Marv!
  15. Bill Kollar, one of the best DL coaches in the league, and someone who watches him day in and day out, disagrees with you.
  16. Roscoe has actually done pretty well when given a chance. There are a number of underachievers on this team (read: Whitner, McCargo, Kelsay, etc). Roscoe is not one of them.
  17. This is the type of pick that should get the front office fired. Trading up for and wasting a first round pick on a guy who displays lackluster effort and was CLEARLY a reach. Instead, every member of the Buffalo Bills front office received a promotion.
  18. Thanks Marv for trading up for this guy!
  19. Defense has been very sloppy. James missed a tackle. Scott missed a tackle. Poz looks tentative. Good thing it's preseason.
  20. WOW! He cracked the second team on the 30th ranked offense last year!!!! Anthony Munoz in the making!!!!
  21. Problem with your logic. Lee Evans is NOT a franchise #1 receiver. He's a pretty good #1 receiver, but has done nothing to distinguish himself from other #1 receivers around the league. Jason Peters IS a franchise left tackle.
  22. Let's see Evans shake double teams and be more consistent in his play before we call him irreplaceable. Wide Receivers, in general, are replaceable. #1 receivers change teams every year and are seemingly available in the free agent market -- look no further than last year's Super Bowl teams, both of whom featured receivers signed in free agency. Franchise Left Tackles? A different story.
