  1. Killer party. Jake Long was there too... he was buying us shots all night... pretty funny guy
  2. I ran into Wood and Brohm at the EA Sports party in Miami. Both guys are cool... though Brohm was obliterated and didn't make a whole lot of sense. But Wood was a super nice guy -- he says he'll be ready to rock by training camp.
  3. Whitner's latest Tweet: @Profootballtalk yall suck....my followers are here to stay.....chumps! What a standup guy. LOL
  4. Most scouting staffs in the league would not have made the selections the Bills had made, particularly in 2006 when they took Whitner and McCargo over the likes of Ngata and Mangold. If you're a season ticket holder and spend your hourly wages on whatever the Bills put out at the Team Store, I apologize for bursting your bubble.
  5. Mel Kiper had us taking him that year too. But the Bills, of course knew better. After all, Harris would have been an absolute disaster on this defense.[/sarcasm]
  6. Given that the Jets traded up from 25, swapping 1sts and surrendering a 2nd and a 5th rounder to take him, yes, they DID know he'd be a top-notch corner.
  7. Were you in the draft room? Didn't think so. You're the same guy that stated Vince Young isn't an NFL caliber QB. (and btw, "you are" = "you're") -- they might teach you that that next year in Language Arts class
  8. It may require 20/20 hindsight for YOU, but most people knew, after the Bills' 2006 draft (featuring Whitner and McCargo) that the Bills' front office was a joke.
  9. Exactly. The only trade rumors I heard were when the Broncos were demanding Harris in any package that included Marshall. It's fairly typical Bills homerism to declare that a Pro Bowl caliber linebacker would be a "disaster" and "liability" on this team.
  10. ... and your contention that Harris would be a "disaster" and a "liability" in Buffalo is a ludicrous and vain attempt to make excuses for yet another a poor selection by the front office. Harris is a far better player than Poz, and it's not even close. I do agree that Wilson, Scott and Byrd are better safeties than Whitner. Also agree that Fred Jackson is a better RB right now than Lynch. Who are the other "gems" you speak of rotting away on Buffalo's bench?
  11. I'll go with what came out of the horse's mouth rather than the unsubstantiated "off-the-record" reports that you eat up. If Ralph Wilson and Marv Levy both said and acknowledged that he has final say, then that's good enough for me. Marv is a Hall of Fame coach. Nobody wants to tarnish his grand legacy. It's rather uncomfortable to refer back to the Bills' brain-dead front office moves and attribute them to Marv... so it's only natural that national media types refer to Marv as a figurehead. That's the easy, comfortable thing to do because you can criticize the Bills franchise but Marv can come out relatively unscathed. Were it any other GM and not the venerable, lovable Marv, the story would be quite different. If those reports makes you feel more comfortable, roll with it brother
  12. The moment you start drafting solely for a scheme, you get into trouble. Harris is a disruptive player that can rush the passer and is at least "decent" in coverage, I've seen him cover tight ends and running backs with reasonable success. I'd like to think Perry could have found a place for Harris on the field, somewhere. In any case, I think those 3 picks, as compared with the selections the Jets made, are indicative of a terribly flawed personnel department and I'm hopeful that Buddy Nix will change that.
  13. My memory is all I have. I remember Ralph stating that Marv had final say. Marv, on numerous occasions, acknowledged that he had final say but nevertheless emphasized that he was there to build a consensus.
  14. Ralph's anus notwithstanding, Marv had final say on draft day, end of story. He's the one who decided not to trade down from #8. He's the one who OK'ed the trade up to draft Poz. Yes, he's not solely responsible, no single person is solely responsible for anything in a major, multi-million dollar organization. But he had the final say and it happened under his watch. It falls on him. In any case, I'm not too worried when you disagree with me given how often you are flat out wrong.
  15. Harris would have been just fine manning the middle in Perry Fewell's defense. But don't let that stand in the way of an excuse.
  16. Pretty much sums up my thoughts.
  17. There was no hindsight. The Bills were the laughing stock of the draft when they took Whitner and McCargo in the first round. It was obvious then, and it's even more obvious now watching these players excel in the playoffs.
  18. Harris was rated above Poz on a number of boards, and rightfully so. Poz is a pretty good player. Harris is a Pro-Bowl caliber player.
  19. The Bills could have had both Revis, David Harris, and Nick Mangold. Instead, Marv Levy took Whitner, McCargo, and Poz. Hiring Marv was the biggest mistake Ralph Wilson made. I look forward to improved drafts under Buddy Nix.
  20. http://www.buffalonews.com/sports/story/924260.html If it has already been posted,
  21. Marv was anything BUT competent!
  22. Fox is a smart man and doesn't want to work for this joke of an organization.
  23. Lester is a mole who brings Ralph his coffee and serves as an informant. Contrary to belief, he sucks. There's a reason he's not an actual coach and is a "personal assistant" -- he specializes in photocopying and other miscellaneous B word work. If you think any head coach actually WANTS him around, you're kidding yourself.
  24. Philly has one of the top scouting and coaching staffs in the NFL. They considered Peters worthy of a first rounder and a market value contract. The Bills (and you) considered him expendable. I'll go with their opinion over yours... after all, you're the same person who said Vince Young isn't a viable NFL starter
