  1. Wow, where have I been??? John, it was only 2 weeks ago that you were steadfastly defending Bledsoe through thick and thin. Now you are calling for his benching?
  2. I am kind of confused. I haven't been following the election as closesly as I would like. However, every single one of my friends and colleagues is a staunch Kerry supporter. Most feel this way due to an utter hatred towards GW Bush. Now I notice that on this board, I would say that Bush has the majority. That said, I would really appreciate it if you guys could help me here. WHY SHOULD I NOT VOTE FOR JOHN KERRY? Please, no insults against Kerry's personalitiy or his flip flopping, etc... what I would love to hear are some deficiencies in Kerry's policy. If you could point me to resources, that would be great too. I'm just trying to educate myself here. Thanks very much!
  3. He was offered more money by Philly. But he made a committment to Buffalo from the start. That's a fact. 200 kids or not, I appreciate that gesture but dont feel sorry for him because of it. I do feel sorry for him for the instability at QB. While many of the elite receivers have benefited from stability at the QB position (Rice, Harrison, Moss), Moulds has had the likes of Rob Johnson, Alex Van Pelt, giving him the ball during the prime years of his career.
  4. Two weeks ago on the deciding play of Buffalo's three-point loss at Oakland, the Bills' overpaid offensive line was pushed backward when Buffalo went for it on fourth-and-goal at the Raiders 1. Now it's defending champion New England 24, Buffalo 17 with 3:24 remaining and Buffalo faces third-and-2 on the Patriots 16, a sellout home crowd roaring at military-afterburner decibels. Yet the Buffalo offensive line is pushed backward just like the game before, loss of yardage for the runner. Now it's fourth-and-3 on the New England 19, Drew Bledsoe is hammered by two Patriots a second after receiving the snap, fumbles and TMQ wrote the words "game over" in his notebook. The Buffalo offensive line allowed seven sacks, including sacks on third-and-6, third-and-7 and another third-and-6, plus a sack that took the Bills out of field-goal range. Ye gods, this offensive line is pathetic. And, yes, TMQ predicted the addition of offensive line coach Jim McNally would aid Buffalo: But then, my motto is All Predictions Wrong or Your Money Back. The Bills offensive line performance has become even worse since McNally arrived. On Sunday, "line calls," which tell blockers what to do, were repeatedly botched, allowing New England blitzers to advance untouched by human hands. On the fourth-and-3 that decided the game, New England linebacker Tedy Bruschi, obviously preparing to blitz, lined up directly across from right guard Chris Villarrial. At the snap, Villarrial inexplicably pulled right as if to lead a non-existent sweep -- vacating the hole Bruschi came through untouched to hammer Bledsoe one second after he received the snap. This botched blocking ended Buffalo's hopes for the game and, perhaps, for the season. TMQ watched the play several times in increasing disbelief: With a Patriots blitzer directly over the guard on the snap that may determine the Bills season, that guard pulled and enthusiastically ran to nowhere, leaving an unobstructed lane directly to the quarterback. And what of Richard Seymour, the Patriot who scooped up Bledsoe's fumble and returned it for six, where did Seymour come from? At the snap, left tackle Marcus Price lightly brushed Seymour, then stood still and simply watched Seymour chase Bledsoe, Price making no attempt whatsoever to block. You are not going to win many games when offensive linemen deliberately run away from blitzers, or when linemen make no attempt whatsoever to block on fourth-and-3 -- both are symptoms of suspect coaching.
  5. at the end of the game where Mularkey decided to rely on the wheels of the SLOWEST, least athletic player on our roster with the game on the line.
  6. Nope. He's not ready yet. Let Travis take the pounding while McGahee gets fully ready. I still think he's tentative and is more useful in spot duty as opposed to an every down role. I say use him more but still ride Trav.
  7. Agreed. Who the hell is Marv to pass judgement on people based on the way they wear a cap??? What an old fart.
  8. The rushing average per carry is an indictment on the lack of production from the offense in general. It's no coincidence that during Bledsoe's first year here, Travis Henry rushed for 1400 yards. That was largely in part due to the threat Bledsoe and the offense posed through the air. Teams couldn't tee off, stack 8 men in the box and all-out blitz. The offense no longer poses such a threat.
  9. Yup. That's why as a starter, Flutie's record was 20-12.
  10. Post-Concussion Syndrome. You heard it here first.
  11. Awww can you feel the love?
  12. It's about time someone from the media pointed out where the real problem is. Feel free to reply with "We're billsfanone" (Yeah, it hasn't gotten old)... but I think he hits the nail on the head when it comes to the excessive talk and bravado coming out of OBD. http://story.theinsiders.com/a.z?s=121&p=2&c=297945
  13. Thats where you are wrong. In a span of 2 games, not every punter has faced those situations. If our offense wasn't so inept, Moorman wouldn't HAVE to punt in the opposing team's territory. Moorman is as good as ever. Now, about that Bledsoe guy...
  14. Crazy. Totally crazy. First of all, it has only been two games. So these averages are calculated over a small sample size. Second, at least 2 or 3 of his punts came when the Bills were in the opposing team's territory, which means he wasn't going for distance... he was going for hang time and was trying to pin them deep in their territory. Moorman is a top 5 punter in this league IMO.
  15. Sadly, Moorman is our best player.
  16. Point taken. I didn't really ever expect Bledsoe to voluntarily take himself out. I was more eluding to the fact that the team could use a short-term spark and that decision would rest with the head coach, not Drew.
  17. Doug Flutie was with the Bills for 3 weeks before he came in and provided a spark. Kurt Warner was with the Rams for a week before he provided a spark. Marc Bulger was riding the pine for a few months before he provided a spark. Aaron Brooks had been with the team a few months before he provided a spark (when Jeff Blake went down with injury) Even Drew Bledsoe provided a spark for the Pats in the AFC Championship Game You're right. Bledsoe did not necessarily "cause" these 2 losses. But when looking for a spark, you don't get a new kicker or fullback. You put in a new QB. That's the pulse of the team... not that Shane Matthews is any good, nor is he a permanent solution. But a spark once in a while never hurts. Now go stroke your Bledsoe bobble-head doll
  18. This article points out what a nice guy Drew is... but it also points out what might be best for the team. http://www.democratandchronicle.com/apps/p...331/1007/SPORTS
  19. I don't think it's a good idea because here's why: 1) I highly doubt the Raiders would offer a #1 pick for Travis and a #3. To put things in perspective, the Patriots were able to get Corey Dillon from the Pats for a #2. I would argue that Dillon and Henry are approximately the same caliber. 2) Travis is a team leader. Granted he might not be the best RB for the future of this team, EVERYONE on the team loves this guy because they have seen the pain he is willing to play through and his work habits. While he may not be an outspoken member of the team, he leads by example. Trading Henry would have very bad lockerroom implications and would make us a much worse team 3) One could argue that becoming a much worse team isn't a bad thing due to draft compensation. Think again. In his latest brilliant move, TD shipped next year's #1 pick to Bill Parcells. A disastrous season would only help Bill Parcells and the Cowboys, not us. 4) Willis is not there yet. We have the luxury of letting Travis take all the pounding behind a horrible O-line at a VERY VERY cheap price. 1400 yard backs don't come cheap in this league unless their name is Travis Henry. We have him sniged through next season at a bargain-basement price. The value there is tremendous.
  20. What has Drew Bledsoe done for you personally that warrants your unwavering support? If your situations were flipped, would Drew do the same for you? Don't take it personally. Fans have every right to cast blame on poor play.
  21. First of all, Raiders fans are absolutely nuts. I wore my jersey and took a lot of smack for it. At times, I feared for my life. Would I do it again? Hell yeah. Had great seats, only 10 rows up from the field at the 5 yardline. A great view to see the debacle that it was. Some thoughts. 1. Josh Reed sucks, flat out. Not only did he struggle to get open and gain separation, he dropped some critical passes that would have kept drives alive. He just doesn't have it in him yet to be a playmaker. I think they need to bench him and use Bobby Shaw and Lee Evans. Both those guys proved they can make the catches in clutch situations. 2. The defense is excellent. Wow, I was continually amazed at what this defense can do despite the paltry support given by the offense. You want to complain about no turnvers? Just imagie how well the D would've played had the offense handed them a LEAD! They could play the ball more aggressively which could lead to more big plays. It takes 2 to tango folks and the offense isn't doing its part. 3. Brian Moorman is the best player on this team. Excellent job with the field position battle. 4. Season's not over yet. Philly started 0-2 last year.
  22. C'mon guys, he put his idea out there no need to rain on his parade. I don't think it's all that bad.
  23. I would still take Denver Over Jax.
  24. Think again buddy. You'd have to tie him up to prevent him from playing.
