  1. From Tyler Dunne: At Highmark Stadium, it was clear that the Bills were not going to stop Joe Burrow and this Bengals offense. Immediately. Everything was so easy, so breezy through 79- and 72-yard touchdown drives to start this game. Cincy’s passing game was akin to a game of catch in the backyard with Bills defenders lining up so far off the ball. Blaming defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier for this is unbelievably short-sighted. Yes, he calls the plays but this entire defense is Sean McDermott’s baby. He runs it. It’s his show. Philosophically, he wants a unit that’ll bend, bend, bend and bend some more in hopes of never breaking. There’s minimal risk. No disguise. And certainly not a slot corner like Cincy’s Mike Hilton blitzing off the edge to change a game. The McDermott scheme begs the offense to nickel-and-dime its way down the field. That’ll earn you juicy stats against inferior quarterbacks in the middle of September. Not so much against the best in the NFL. Burrow essentially said “Don’t mind if I do!” exactly as Patrick Mahomes did those final 13 seconds of regulation one season ago. Before the first quarter was even over, the Bengals quarterback had completed passes to seven different players.
  2. Random request for anyone coming to Nashville from WNY. I'll be visiting Nashville from California and would like to get some Bills gear (a few tshirts) because I have no gear for the game. Anyone willing to pick a few things up for me and I'll gladly pay you back in $ + ?? Please PM me if so. I'll be in Nashville starting on Friday.
  3. Will be arriving via BART. Is it easy to get to the parking lot from the BART station?
  4. I'll be there.
  5. Exactly right. There are plenty of occupations that come with severe health and safety risks: military service, coal mining, window washing, oil and gas workers, nuclear plants, etc. Playing in the NFL happens to be a livelihood in which players can earn millions of dollars for the privilege of doing so. As earnings continue to skyrocket, NFL will have no problem filling its rosters for the foreseeable future with quality talent. While its true that the NFL can and should do more to help folks like DT, Janine and family lived well beyond their means for quite a long time before receiving the generous and kind-hearted handout from #BillsMafia.kind-hearted handout from #BillsMafia.
  6. CVM - you did a truly wonderful thing for someone in need. Same goes fo Graham for getting the story out there.
  7. You're wrong. Read the article, you imbecile.
  8. Not backtracking at all. I have no knowledge as to how they're living today. I can only go by the article that Graham wrote as a primary source. And in that article, it clearly states that the Talley's were (a) evicted from their home, (b) in dire financial straits, and © accepting money from friends and family to rent a posh home in a gated community overlooking a golf course. My love for Daryl as a player notwithstanding, I find it hard to sympathize given their extravagant lifestyle in the face of financial hardship. His wife in particular was not in the least bit shy about seeking financial assistance from his former teammates (which is great). But, when she then spends it to afford herself a luxurious living situation in home overlooking a golf course, I question her intentions given the bigger issues that were in play. And thanks, by the way, for engaging with me in a discussion about this rather than resorting to name calling.
  9. Denigrating the outreach? Not so much. Questioning the Talleys' unnecessary extravagance leading up to the outreach? Absolutely. You're such a moron
  10. Here's the deal: I love Talley - true warrior, exemplified everything that was great about those Bills teams. I also love the fans' gesture - generosity at its finest. My gripe is this: it's hard to feel sympathy for the Talleys when they continued to live beyond their means despite a financial situation that was so dire, they were evicted from their home. Janine then receives help from Daryl's former teammates (another great gesture) and uses the money to rent a home in a gated community overlooking a golf course. With Daryl in such dire need for medical help, one would think there are better uses for those funds.
  11. Therein lies the irony, which certainly isn't lost on me. After all, fandom doesn't always follow logic: here we are, spending time on a message board whose primary topic of conversation pertains to an organization that ranks among the most inept in all of professional sports Amazing. My post got deleted. Nothing in my post violated the terms of service. Guess some moderators can't handle the truth
  12. Life is good for Janine after receiving a $250K handout
  13. Yes. Which only furthers the points that have been made: 1. Extending McCoy to a top-market deal when he had 3 years remaining was a boneheaded front office move. Bills had all the leverage here and he could have played with his current deal as-is. 2. Productive RBs can be found without expending significant resources. Karlos was a 5th rounder, Gillislee was signed off the street midseason.
  14. I've missed you bro
  15. Badol: Just one question: why do you keep doing this? Arguing with the likes of JFH and the kool-aid drinking masses @ TSW is akin to arguing with an 8 y/o fan - an exercise in futility. They don't understand the concept of leverage: that the team could have easily made the trade and demanded that McCoy perform under his current deal, which had 2-3 years remaining on it. A case study in Adrian Peterson and Maurice Jones-Drew is illustrative enough of how little leverage these backs have in today's NFL. They don't understand the concept of amortization and the negative impact it can have on cap structure. Stating that "it's not my money" is the epitome of ignorance. Nor do they understand that one of the major reasons the Bills have the longest playoff drought in NFL history is the heavy resources they have poured into the Running Back position - a position that has largely been devalued in the draft and monetary value.
