  1. Yes, the run game was awful all year. We must have been stopped at 2 yards or less on most of our running plays other than Allen scrambles. We need at least 3 new starters on the OL with 2 being vast improvements and we also need Dawkins and Teller to take the next step. Dawkins was a real disappointment this year. I was looking for him to take the next step and he didn't.
  2. No doubt about it. Vander Esche is way better than Edmunds is right now, but let's see how they fare in 2019 before making any final judgement.
  3. McDermott actually did a solid coaching job this season, IMO. On the other hand, you're right about the process failing unless Allen can magically improve the natural ability of his right arm to throw accurate passes. As far as blowouts are concerned, we're rebuilding, so I don't whine about them like everyone else, but Allen needs to show that he was worth that #7 pick and that's unlikely. Robey-Coleman and Woods are very solid contributors on the Rams.
  4. We need to challenge and possibly win the AFCE next year. Anything less than 10 or 11 wins would be a real problem and (I'll get flamed for this) with Allen's accuracy issues, I just don't see it happening. We may win more games (7 or 8), but Allen's arm is our ceiling. They can't afford to hit the snooze button and just leave Allen unchallenged for the starting job after next year or we'll end up like the Dolphins with Tannehill -- maybe in the playoffs once in a while, but not really a threat.
  5. A QB that misses wide open receivers standing just a few feet away has the potential to be the #1 marquee player? Maybe if we move him to TE LOL.
  6. Which is where we are likely to be in a few years -- like Jacksonville and Miami. They took too long to realize that their QB's weren't all that good, but hung on to them too long because they invested so heavily in them. I hope we don't make the same mistake with Allen.
  7. There is nothing wrong with the current stadium. All this talk of remodeling and building new stadiums is just for PR. The money would be better spent on teachers' salaries and roads, etc. It's just a money making scheme.
  8. I think rex's failure on top of 4 bad seasons in NY have sealed his fate. This is especially true because his defenses in Buffalo sucked. He's finished. He won't even get a job as a DC, IMO.
  9. Even the yellow tiles show him to be below average. He needs to raise his completion percentage by 10% if he's going to take us to the promised land. I just watched the Detroit game again and he was missing open receivers all over the field. It was ugly.
  10. None of the above. I am a Bills fan from day 1. I couldn't care less about any other team. Period. If the franchise ever left Buffalo, I'd be done with football. Period.
  11. We need a guy that has a big catch radius because Josh's weakness is his accuracy. Go for the guy with the ability to make the tough, off-target catches.
  12. I agree with this 100%. This is far and away our #1 priority. I'd love to see 3 new starters on the OL with a 1st round pick at LT and Dawkins at RT. Teller should start at one G position with a new starting G at the other and a new starting C. It might take a few games for the new line to gel, but it is necessary, IMHO. Even WR is not as urgent a need with the emergence of Foster and Jones. That's not to say that WR isn't a high priority, but OL is still #1. A young RB to challenge Ivory would be good too. Also, TE could be an option if Clay doesn't rebound in 2019. On defense, we need to determine if Harry Phillips can fill Kyle's shoes or we need to get a new starter at DT. Another starting CB might be in the offing, but Wallace might also be sufficient for now. I wouldn't just write the need for CB off completely just yet, however. It's too soon. In any event, we need to improve our pass rush somehow.
  13. Allen??? His 53% completion rate leads the league, right? We were #1 against the pass and the QB misses on 47% of his throws and everyone votes for the QB. Oh how desperate we must be for a decent QB!
  14. How about the sound of a charging her of bisons instead?
  15. Sounds about right. Sooner or later, Bills fans will realize that his "scattershot accuracy" is a serious liability. People are just so desperate for a franchise QB and he's a 1st round pick, so he's getting an over-long honeymoon. How long will it last? I mean, there are people on here claiming that Rosenthall "didn't watch" Josh play at all and he's just "going by the numbers." Really? You were tracking Rosenthall's every move? SMH...
  16. Comeback Player of the Year - Lorenzo Offensive Rookie of the Year - Foster Defensive Rookie of the Year - Wallace Team ROY - Wallace Defensive MVP - Lorenzo Offensive MVP - No one qualifies IMO. Roll the dice. Team MVP - Lorenzo Let's face it. 2 UDFA rookies outperformed everyone that we drafted (Wallace, Foster). Lorenzo was EASILY the best player on the field for us in 2018. No one on offense really stood out. Foster was just OK, but that was as good or better than anyone else on that side of the ball. We need to retool the OL before anything else this offseason or 2019 will be a very difficult season as well.
  17. I think Mills, Bodine and Miller can all be easily replaced and upgraded. Also, Mills is not average. He is well below average and wouldn't even make a number of rosters. Why do people think he's average anyways?
  18. I'll be upset if they just let Clay walk. I'm pretty sure there is another team in the NFL that would give something to have him on their roster. I have a hunch that Benjamin and Clay were discouraged by the fact that Allen's passing was so inaccurate. Benjamin even tweeted about that in the preseason regarding Cam, whose accuracy is considerably better than Josh's. Benjamin was just going through the motions like Clay. They don't want to be in Buffalo any longer. I wonder if that will impact our ability to sign WR's in FA.
  19. You also need to consider the positions. Inexperience at RB is a non-issue, for example. OL experience could make a difference or at WR. Trading down and picking up another 2nd or 3rd might allow us to get one of the top interior OL in the draft. for example. I don't know who's who, but they generally get picked later than the OT's.
  20. I hope you're right, but I suspect his inaccuracy lies in his natural arm talent and muscle coordination there. I think it's something you wake up with or you don't, not something learned. Experience and surrounding talent will raise his % some, but I don't see him hitting a very high % ever. He is inaccurate at all levels -- short, mid and long. I just don't think you can fix that. I've never seen it fixed in any other QB either.
