  1. We'll see. He has an awfully long way to go. We get all this sunshine blown up you-know-where every offseason and preseason. I don't put much stock in this.
  2. I don't know who is supposed to be on those lists, but clearly our O isn't anywhere close. As far as our D goes, everyone talks about then like they were the 2nd best D last year. They weren't even close. They were something like 17th in points surrendered which is a much better indication of their rank. No one added on D is likely to make a big difference except maybe Oliver. We gave up so few yards is because other teams were trying to kill the clock much more than they were trying to pile up yards. I'll be surprised if we are even top 10 in points scored/surrendered on either side of the ball.
  3. He's nowhere near 4th best, but he's still better than most starting centers in the NFL.
  4. Listen to offers, but don't give him away cheaply. We know Brown's ceiling is average despite elite speed. We don't know Foster's ceiling and his top speed is nearly as good as Brown's. It would not surprise me to see Jones and Foster starting outside with Beasley in the slot.
  5. I think the #29 rating is reasonable, but still a little low. The vast majority of new players we added were pretty average. Even some "big name" guys like J Brown, F Gore & EJ Gaines are very average starters. Neither of last year's 1st rounders has played at a very high level yet and they still have a very long way to go. Of course, many fans are making absurd claims about our OL being top 5 or Josh Allen being an MVP when he's not even an average starter yet? The good news is that we have no gaping holes in the roster any more and our youngest players are in key positions to affect the direction of this team. If they turn out great, that's where we're headed. Let's just hope Beane picked the right mix of talent.
  6. I'm not sure Josh Allen will ever throw for 4,000 yards in a season. Running is his forte, not throwing.
  7. Wow! Allen is in the bottom half for aggressiveness and he's STILL so far below the pack for pass efficiency. Someone remind me what he's good at again besides running.
  8. Feliciano is rumored to have a real mean streak. Hopefully Ed Oliver will give us some eye popping moments when the pads go on. Let's hope so. V Joseph plays with attitude as well. Thing is, they're all teammates. To me, the preseason games are all about finding out how well guys in pads will hit guys in pads from other teams.
  9. This will be Zay's breakout year. Knox will be a very pleasant surprise too.
  10. To have a truly epic defense means you must have mostly all probowlers and some all pro talent at CB and on the DL. Star will never again be a probowler. Murphy is a longshot and White is the only CB that is likely to make the probowl any time soon. We're not there yet. everyone keeps interpreting our defenses performance last year as 2nd best in the NFL. We were actually closer to 17th best defense as our points against would suggest. We also need Edmunds to take a huge step this year, His rookie year was not encouraging, considering where he was drafted.
  11. When they hired him, I was like "Who?" Now I'm more ready to see what he can do. He's never had any decent talent to work with, until now. Should be fun watching.
  12. You could be right if DS > Shady early on. I'm excited to see what DS can do at this level. Yeldon was a great pick up IMO. We'll have better blocking and DS is great at setting up his blockers. Thurman was good at that too. That 3rd round may yet be our best this recent draft. Knox looks good too.
  13. Dawson Knox will take advantage of Kroft's foot injury as will Tommy Sweeney. Lee Smith was already a lock. Smith had flag related issues towards the end of his 1st visit. Let's hope that got cleared up. Great blocking TE. I'm not sure how Croom will respond. If Sweeney's hands are as good as they say, he could be TE#2 before long.
  14. Our depth on the OL is better than last year's starters. Last years starters at WR are this year's depth. Last year's starter at TE is gone and we have 2 rookies at the position. I really hope that Oliver & Ford turn out great and that our lines will both rock this year. Someone still needs to step up and Ford/Oliver are still rookies.
  15. Trent Murphy's break out game vs Miami.
  16. This wouldn't surprise me in the least. He's obviously motivated. 3rd year WR? I think Knox will also be a pleasant surprise -- excellent size/speed combo. Looks like he'll get his chance right away whether he's ready or not.
  17. But would Johnny U make it in today's NFL? I do agree that Brady is the GOAT at QB. Marino deserves at least a mention here along with Peyton.
  18. The question was who was better, not who do you like better. Being a Bills fan has nothing to do with it. Reggie. He played both end and tackle as well as anyone ever has. They were both the best player of their time as were LT and maybe even Derrick Thomas.
  19. So imagine that Johnson and Trent Murphy go out and have career years and Oliver turns into an absolute beast along with Edmunds. They feed us this stuff every year and it's never all to come true. Still, 3 out of 4 would be really nice.
  20. Hmmm... DE, WR or CB? I'm not using it on a TE or LB. I'd go with Myles Garrett.
  21. Trent Murphy has had 1 good season and then got hurt. He's had more time to heal physically and psychologically. If Frazier is being honest, Murrphy looks more confident in his knee. I hope we see the improved Trent Murphy soon. Then again, Shaq's playing for a new contract. Tommy Sweeney was said by one pundit to have the best hands in the draft. We'll see if he can get open then. Maybe Kroft's broken foot won't hurt so much after all. Some very young talent at TE. Who will step it up? Knox has impressed early on. I'd love for Kevin Johnson to follow in Jerry Hughes' footsteps and become the player everyone thought he'd be. Once he signed with the Bills, Hughes was so much better. What a gift that would be. Maybe the 1 new arrival that intrigues me most is Devin Singletary. His size and speed aren't scary, but neither were Thurman's. This kid has an amazing ability to see the field and react quickly and smartly to maximize his attributes. I doubt they'll have to coach him up much when it comes to toteing the rock. He has good instincts and lots of twitch. And let's not forget Spencer Long who is also a 'done it before' guy that's just needed more healing.
