Gazoo Helmets an Option For Players ???????????????
GreggTX replied to Irv's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'd like to see some data that shows how much these help -- Especially long term. -
This may go down as Beane's best draft to date -- A pretty tall order since he nabbed Josh and Edmunds together. But Edmunds is gone. Meanwhile the UDFA's look like 2 or 3 of them are sure to make the PS or better. Certainly, Shavers will stick somewhere. While the day 3 guys haven't shown much, it's still early -- At least for our 5th rounder. Meanwhile, the top 3 picks look like solid gold. To say that Kincaid and Torrence have shined is an understatement. They are everything we hoped for and then some. I know it's too early, but everything they have done to this point has been outstanding. Don't let me stop there either. I was disappointed when they drafted Dorian Williams. Not any more! He looks great too and was possibly the best defensive player on the field last Saturday. I wonder how long it will be before he forces the coaches to find a way to keep him on the field. Maybe add a little bulk and let him play besides Milano. I'd love to hear your thoughts on our rookie class.

I wish we had signed him.

OT…All is not going well on South Beach
GreggTX replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'm not gonna say that our OL is good, but the Dolphins struggling up front and our DL getting healthy gives me great confidence. -
His strengths are man to man and press. He has to learn to play zone better. It requires quick recognition and reaction skills. We knew it would take time. Maybe he'll always be a better man coverage guy. Maybe he'll be allowed to play more press to take advantage of his skill set. Maybe he'll learn to play zone as well as man. Time will tell.

He and Robert James have my vote. Both are very deserving.

Smells was great. Klelo was better.

I wonder how good he could have been if he was really motivated. I think he could have DPOY many times. What a shame.

I think Cook will make a modest jump from year 1 to year 2, but people are assuming too much. He's not a work horse type RB. I look for Damien Harris to get a lot more snaps than people expect. He can take it between the tackles. Cook is more of a gadget player. I see Cook running sweeps, screens, draws and such. Late in games, you'll see a lot more of Harris running the ball than Cook unless we're trailing.

No pads so I would go with Kincaid. Still, any good news about our OL is welcome. I'm not thrilled about McGovern, but maybe he and brown will get much better.

There are 2 kinds of coaches in the NFL. There are coaches that have been fired and there are coaches waiting to get fired. Bill is no exception. Winning was a lot easier with Brady.

I don't know why some think he'll be RB1. I know he added a few pounds, but he's still not built to take too much punishment, is he? He'll be a solid contributor, but I think the RB1 job goes to Harris.

Bills to work out TE Jace Sternberger (now signed to 1 year deal)
GreggTX replied to JohnNord's topic in The Stadium Wall
He was called a throwback or in-line TE coming out of college. Apparently he's a decent blocker as well as a receiver. -
Josh Allen is the Greatest Glitch in Madden History

Put the game in simulation mode. Set the clock to 15 minutes and the play clock to 13 seconds. Watch in spectator mode. Then tell me they have the Bills figured out. Not. Even. Close. -
Random preseason OLine rankings <edited>
GreggTX replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in The Stadium Wall
The Broncos spent a lot more on their OL than we did. Ben Powers and Mike McGlinchey will be starting (obviously). We didn't have enough cap space to do what we needed. Other than Dawkins, our OL is still very suspect. I do think Torrence will be good though. -
Did we do enough? I think we are getting there.
GreggTX replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in The Stadium Wall
I love the Torrence addition. I think adding Edwards was a sneaky good move, but not a great one. I think signing McGovern for so long and so much was a terrible move that will set us back. We still need a starting caliber RT and McGovern needs an upgrade. We also are 2 WR's short of a solid starting 3. Also, everyone assumes Cook will be great. I'd like him to achieve mediocrity at least before I join that lovefest. I'm not saying it would easy to solve all those problems, but the answer is still no. We didn't do enough. We'll be a good team this year, but I don't see a deep playoff run. We may not even win the AFCE. -
I wear Bills gear in Manila, but my stepson keeps stealing my ball caps. It's OK though. I don't mind as long as he wears them.

More players to receive season long gambling suspensions this week.
GreggTX replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall
This is what happens when you make gambling on the games legal. The NFL has only itself to blame. -
How long does it take an NFL head coach to reach his 1st Super Bowl?
GreggTX replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
It took Andt Teid a long time. He got fired first. -
He's watching Nick Wright who doesn't even try to hide his bias. His hate for Buffalo is unique -- It's that bad.

Eat Crow: Your most embarrassing Bills opinions
GreggTX replied to Mikie2times's topic in The Stadium Wall
I didn't think Josh was ever going to be great. Clearly I was wrong about him. He still needs to greatly reduce the turnovers and learn to cradle the ball when he runs, but other than that, he checks all the boxes. I hope he can start winning SB's too.
