  1. I remember that game! We were still stuck in traffic when the game started, so we were listening on the radio when the Redskins took the very first KO at the stadium to the house for a TD. No wonder we lost all 4 SB's! They should have recognized that as a bad omen and built another stadium. (j/k)
  2. I liked what I saw from Edmunds week 1. He didn't always make a play, but he was always around the ball a lot more than last year. I believe he'll turn out to be a better player than Josh Allen.
  3. I know the Pats have the best defense right now, but I still can't help think we need to draft another QB and SOON!
  4. I see no reason why Barkley can't put together a better game than any of the games that Allen has played. At least he will be patient and not throw the game away or keep fumbling. Smart. We have a defense, so let them carry the team like Josh should have done. Despite missing much of the Pats game, Allen leads the NFL in interceptions. Not good.
  5. Trade Allen and draft another QB if we can't trade for an upgrade. That said, I'd certainly give him the rest of this season to turn it around, but no longer. We can't wait forever.
  6. No. Josh Allen's real test was last Sunday and he failed miserably. The defense, on the other hand, passed with flying colors. ST's were a disaster too. To be honest, I'm kind of anxious to see if Matt Barkley can play better than Allen has. That's not a very high bar, but Allen and Barkly are all we have this year to work with. The defense will have to stay on top of it.
  7. Josh didn't throw 18 TD's last year. He threw several more interceptions than TD passes.
  8. How can you even say you are being objective if you are not deeply concerned that we drafted the wrong QB? He leads the NFL in interceptions. 4 turnovers in 1 half. 3 picks in 1 game. Poor ball placement. Extremely poor decision making. If he doesn't get a lot better and very soon, I just hope Beane and McDermott will admit they drafted the wrong QB and try again rather than riding him down until the Pegulas have no choice but to bring in a new HC and GM. At the very least, trade for a better QB or draft another one that can compete for the starting job. We have an elite defense and a starting QB that gives the ball away like gramma hands out candy on Halloween.
  9. If he learns to start protecting himself and protect the football, then this could turn out OK. Blame the defender for that hit, but blame Josh too. There is no reason for him to be standing when the hit came anyways. He should have gone down to avoid that collision entirely. I just hope this knocks some sense into him so he'll stop dropping the football all over the field and start throwing it away when there isn't enough room to squeeze it in between defenders. He's fumbled 3 times already in 2019 and he's tied for the NFL lead in interceptions. Stop making excuses for him. Look at Daniel Jones. He doesn't need excuses and he has no talent to work with at WR. Minshew too! So many other young QB's playing well and Josh is still stuck in neutral. He's looked better by a bit this year, but that last game was as bad as he's played. If you're not concerned, you're living in denial. How poorly does he have to play before you admit that he is struggling? 4 turnovers in just 1 half? 3 picks in 1 game? Been there. Done that. At this stage, I don't really even see a drop off with Barkley at QB.
  10. He misses deep balls by 5 yards sometimes. It is quite obvious now. Whenever he tries to take over a game by himself and starts pushing, the result is usually disaster. He needs less gunslinger and more game manager. Sometimes he beats himself. Confidence is important. Overconfidence is fatal. As Clint Eastwood says, "A man's got to know his limitations." On the other hand, we now know that this defense is elite despite the absence of any elite players. We also know that we can beat anyone if we don't beat ourselves. We are a year away from finally passing the Pats as inheritors of the AFCE crown. LT, WR, CB and edge rusher upgrades along with Josh learning how to avoid the big errors and we're good to be a heavyweight contender. We are easily a wild card team if Josh's concussion was very minor.
  11. Let's add LT, big WR and CB through FA or the draft and another year of experience to reduce mistakes. Lo will probably retire too so we'll need to replace him.
  12. I LOVE it when the Bills play great defense. Our offense still needs work, but give credit where credit is due. That Patriots D was as good as advertised.
  13. I felt like we should have taken the late FG and made it a 16-13 game. That would have changed the whole complexion of the 4th Q. Someone PLEASE tell Josh to stop trying to carry the team on his back. When he tries to do too much, it blows up in his face. That was a very winnable game if the offense doesn't press and just takes what the D gives them. Part of the blame goes to Daboll, though I do think he's doing well overall. My respect for our defense just grew a couple notches. They certainly played like an elite D today. Brady looked lost. We squandered a defensive gem. Oh well, at least I now know we're a legitimate wild card team. 10 wins doesn't seem unlikely if Allen checks out OK. Could our ST have played any worse? Well, we had a couple decent returns, but had the best one called back. Where was the protection on those punts? Before you blame Bojo, he was lucky he even got that one 20-something yarder off. It was very nearly blocked.
  14. Hughes -- 2 sacks, Oliver -- 1 sack, Murphy -- 1 sack. No sacks from 2nd or 3rd level as McD opts to trust the rush to his DL and occupy as much space as possible with LB's and DB's to make them earn every yard.
  15. 31-26 Bills and yes, I must be crazy. Big day for the offense and just enough on D to make it stick. Bills win 1st half. Pats come back to make it a 1 score game. D hangs on at the end. 2 sacks for Hughes. Knox has a breakout day. Brown fares reasonably well, but Allen grows up a pinch with his best NFL game to date with 3 TD passes and a 3 yd TD run to go along with several other good scampers. Thousands will leave with larengitis after shouting "Let's go Buffalo!" for the entire game. The respect for this team will grow considerably as national writers will start digging deeper to find out why.
  16. We all know these QB's are the top reason for their teams' success and just having a QB isn't enough. Josh is getting better, but that's a huge leap of faith to even mention the HOF. He has so much improving to do before anyone could even make such a suggestion without looking silly. Let's see him actually play much better before we assume that he will ever even reach that level.
  17. We need what KB was supposed to give us. I could see us going any one of either an OT, CB or big WR in round 1 next year.
  18. Is this on McDermott or has he just gotten lucky in some close games? everyone was ripping him a new one after benching Tyrod and all last year when we were in salary cap hell. He's even been criticized for excessive clapping. Was he the right hire or not? Time for his report card BEFORE the Patriots get to town. Personally, I think he has shown growth as a HC over the last 3 years and is better now at his job than he was when he was first hired.
  19. There will be a lot of parties to attend on Sunday night and all next week. Just be sure to get home in time to get a good night's sleep before work in the morning.
  20. I suspect it won't empty out so quickly on Sunday, even if the Patriots get an early lead. I seriously doubt the fans will give up that easily. They'll see this one through to the end and keep cheering no matter what. That's because they want the players to emulate that effort.
  21. Jerry Hughes is key to a Bills victory on Sunday. He'll be facing a backup OT. He needs to eat that guy alive and be all over Brady all day long. Pressure leads to punts and turnovers. Allen can not afford to keep making mistakes. He's been better, but needs to be better still to knock off Brady and that defense. Without Singletary, that will be tough. Belichik is running the defense and it shows. We have to be able to run the ball and the Pats will be ready for the jet sweep because we used it a little too often last week. Our OL needs to play their best as well as the rest of the unit. Brady will be missing his best receivers, but he's still Brady. Give him just a little time and his receivers don't need too much separation. He can thread the needle play after play after play. Bills fans know this better than anyone else. It's time for Ed Oliver to show us why he was a top 10 draft pick. He's been nearly invisible to this point. The Bills need to contain the NE run game as well as the pass. They'll need to focus on the pass and still keep the run in check -- a tall order but doable for us. Our D will be tested as always.
  22. As Daboll says, our OL is still a work in progress. We need a #1 WR and at least another solid O lineman if Ford doesn't develop, but I think he'll put his rookie struggles behind him soon. I suspect Ford will end up at RG and we'll draft or sign a new RT after the season.
  23. The Patriots are the best team in the NFL right now. They have Brady and the league's best defense by far. Only 7? Then again, anything can happen.
  24. I don't see this game as a must win and no rational person expects the Bills to win. The Pats will go 2-0 on us yet again and we'll still be in the chase for a wildcard. If we win, on the other hand, we (especially Josh) must clean up all the mistakes. IF we win, it will herald a new era and Bills fans will lie and say they were there lol. It would be one for the ages.
