  1. You see, OP? Bills fans simply can't admit that Allen's inaccuracy will never allow him to be a consistent passer. They couldn't wait to throw Tyrod under the bus, but they just refuse to see Allen in an unbiased fashion. The defense carried this team all season, but they give credit to an average-at-best QB. I'd give him another year to prove himself with som upgrades (especially WR and OL) and if he can't improve his accuracy and his ability to handle pressure, trade him and try again. If Cam Newton becomes available, I'd try that route depending on Cam's health. Otherwise, trade up for a QB in the 2022 Spring draft. Josh is a phenominal scrambler, but pocket passing is what makes a QB great as well as the ability to throw under pressure. That's why Brady is the GOAT. Deadly accuracy and quick/correct decision making.
  2. I agree OP. We are ranked in the top 10 in rushing offense largely because of Allen's scrambling. Our OL is average at best and I'd love to see us sign or draft an elite OT at the very least this offseason. We need a big, physical #1 WR as well. On D, an elite edge rusher, outside and slot corner upgrades and Lorenzo's replacement. We know Josh needs to play a lot better, but the same is true of Edmunds as well.
  3. Ouch! Under 60% completion rate and under 7 yards per attempt! That's not very encouraging. It's way better than last year, but doesn't explain all of the blind optimism Bills fans have for him. I'd keep drafting QB's even in middle rounds and hope for the next Russell Wilson to replace him. I don't know what the drop rate is for our receivers, but I know that inaccurate throws will get dropped more often than well placed throws no matter who's trying to catch them.
  4. Not to be argumentative OP, but I seriously doubt the fans want it more than the players. If any player wants to win less than the fans, he doesn't deserve to play for this team.
  5. Josh clearly has a long way to go in numerous areas of his game. I'll say this much. He has gotten far more forgiveness from Bills fans than any player in franchise history and it's not even close. It seems to make no difference whether he plays well or not. Everyone sings his praises regardless. Honestly, I've seen nothing like it since 1960.
  6. He got off to a very disappointing start, but has come around. I expect him to add a little core strength for next season and be even better.
  7. I'd definitely like to see him stay and I think he can be more productive in Buffalo than anywhere else. Hopefully the price is right because he's playing better than anyone on our DL right now. Remember that he was a 2nd round pick, so it's not a complete surprise that he's coming around.
  8. No question about it. He is as good a leader as this team has had ranking right up there with Marv Levy and Lou Saban. He may have a couple soft spots that he could improve like challenges, but his ability to command respect and pull a team together is unlike anything we've seen in a long time. As a defensive leader, in particular, he has been brilliant getting the most out of his players. He doesn't care what you're getting paid or what your past accomplishments are. You put your teammates ahead of yourself or you don't play for his team. The results have exceeded my expectations. I wouldn't be at all surprised if we win a playoff game this year and we'll still have a bunch of cap space for 2020. All we need now is for Josh Allen to take his game up a couple levels so he doesn't hold us back and things could get even more interesting.
  9. Maybe Hauschka has lost it. He's been solid for us up to now, but his performances of late have been very disappointing. Bojo was the guy that couldn't kick, but he's done OK.
  10. For the life of me, I can't see why the Cowboys pass so much. I guess everyone feels like they have to abandon the run (except Greg Roman) because that's how the "21st century offense" works. That's stupid. They have 3 guys at or near all-pro level on their OL and arguably one of the top 3 RB's in the NFL. They should be running the ball a LOT more, even if they are behind by a score or 2 in the 3rd Q.
  11. Bottom line is that the Bills just wanted it more. Give credit to McDermott for the attitude of this team.
  12. Let's not forget that HC's can be rookies and go through a learning process as well as a player. I think he's just learning as he goes and it's starting to show. I think the prevent is fine if you have a 3 score lead late in the 4th. That last TD by Dallas was of no consequence. I thought giving up short completions was the right move.
  13. I don't see that it matters much at all. I just want results. They can dance all they want or not.
  14. I've doubted him as much as anyone, but he's starting to make a believer out of me. He's raising his completion rate. He's cut way down on turnovers and his 2 best games as an NFL QB have come in the last 3 weeks. That's some tasty crow!
  15. What really impressed me most about Oliver's game against Dallas is that he was matched up against Zack Martin and Travis Fredrick for much of the day and he dominated. Those are 2 of the best players in the NFL at ANY position. Add an elite edge rusher, a shutdown CB and hopefully Edmunds starts his upward trend -- He's kinda leveled off recently. I believe that would really put us over the top.
  16. Ford has struggled at RT. He played much better when he played briefly at RG. He played very well against Miller. Miller showed class by complimenting him.
  17. In case no one noticed, we just snuck into the top 5 in rushing offense. We're 24th in passing yards per game. Defensively, we're 3rd against the pass and 15th against the run.
  18. He has struggled, but wasn't too bad today. Von Miller's sack came against Dawkins. I think his future is at RG and we'll add another starter at OT next year in FA or the draft.
  19. I personally voted for our safeties, White and Brown. Not sure about Beasley or Phillips. Who do you think deserves it?
  20. Let's see how well they play against some of the better defenses down the stretch. That was a very good defense we played against today, so I'm very encouraged. There may yet be some bumps in the road, but we're definitely trending upwards. We still need to improve the OL despite a solid game for them today and we need an elite WR. Brown is very good, but he's not elite.
  21. He's been playing better of late, but I am guessing that they'll ask him to bulk up a bit this offseason. Hopefully he can do that without losing too much of that quick first step. Hopefully his best days are still ahead. The real question is, how high is his ceiling.
  22. 1. Frank Gore passed Barry Sanders to take 3rd all time rusher in NFL history. 2. Devin Singletary had his 1st 100 yard game. (about time, Brian) 3. Ed Oliver is starting to come around. 4. Even though Denver doesn't have a good QB on their roster, holding any NFL team to 3 points is big. 5. The OL played well overall despite losing our best OL for most of the game.
  23. On a related note, Ford will be asked to block Von Miller and Demarcus Lawrence in our next 2 games. That has me worried. CF has been a major disappointment so far. Still, I like to think he could become a decent RG some day.
  24. This game could make or break our season. I can't see us beating the Cowboys, Ravens or Patriots so we have to beat the Broncos, Steelers and Jets to get into the playoffs.
