  1. I'm seeing the name Tee Higgins (WR, Clemson) aligned with Buffalo in early mock drafts.
  2. There sure are a lot of OT's near the top of this list. That sounds good to me. https://www.sportingnews.com/us/nfl/news/nfl-draft-2020-prospects-big-board-top-50-players-by-position/1o6j8k7fw2ywd1e1p73trdxde9
  3. Say what you want, but he deserved all the success he had. I've never seen anyone play QB better and I've been watching football since guys like Johnny Unitas, Jack Kemp and Joe Namath were in their primes. I know this is a little silly, but he'd be a great mentor for Josh Allen. He knows how our offense works and he excelled at those aspects of the game where Josh needs the most work. Oh and I'm not talking about signing him as a player either.
  4. Polamalu and Atwater should be there and I'd really like to see Sam Mills make it.
  5. And I thought I was the negative one on this board. Why wouldn't he consider us? We have a solid defense that he would only make better and we have a real shot at winning the division next year. If we also signed a CB before him, that could even make the Bills even more attractive. The real issue is price. He's the best DE on the market, but is he the best pass rusher???
  6. Didn't see this posted. For the most part, I liked their analysis and thought it was spot on. Your thoughts?
  7. Conklin is the best RT in FA at this point and he's pretty average. I want a STUD OT to take over at LT and move Dawkins over to RT. Then Ford can compete with Feliciano at RG. Also, McD is a former DC, so it's no surprise the D is better. They performed above their talent level due to coaching. The offense has a long way to go. That said, I'm thinking he's just going to look at all options and initially pursue whatever FA deal looks best at any position of need and that could be anywhere. For example, he could make a tam friendly deal for an average WR2, which would be an upgrade or an average OT (Conklin). I think price will ultimately decide as long as the guy fits our culture.
  8. I can't imagine Sammy coming back when we can't throw the deep ball anyways.
  9. 100% correct, Twist. Some people just lose it if you criticise him at all. Every Bills fan loves his selfless attitude and work ethic. We all know his scrambling ability is elite. We all desperately want him to succeed. None of that is in question, but the numbers don't lie. He is near the bottom of NFL starting QB's in most every passing stat and he has at least an average supporting cast. No more excuses. You can't count on him coming around after 2 full seasons like Tannehill, for example. It happens, but less often you'd like. His accuraccy, mental aptitude and ability to handle pressure must greatly improve. That sack against Houston that took us out of FG range was a perfect example of what I'm talking about. If he doesn't take an even bigger jump next year, this team will be stuck in neutral until we move on to the next candidate.
  10. Since first responding, I've checked up on J Conklin. While he'd be a considerable upgrade at RT, he's just another average OT. Now I'm more inclined to think we should sign a FA WR and draft the best OT we can get in the draft. I really want us to have a couple elite OL. It just makes life so much easier for everyone else on offense when the guys up front take ownership of the LOS. We do need to run more and Josh really struggles when defenses bring pressure. Improving the OL from a C- To a B+ or even an A level would be huge IMO. I just don't know who that WR will be. I still want Thompson back in any case.
  11. And then gets PO'd at you for "always" saying "I don't know." Hmmmm... You sure we're not married to the same woman? LOL
  12. There's no guarantee that we'll be better in 2020. Edmunds is still not up to expectations and neither is Josh or Oliver or Ford or Knox. We still needs another couple of massive upgrades for the OL and a good posession receiver and a backup RB to replace Gore as well as a big jump from Knox and Sweeney. We are assuming that Allen will get better too. I've been listening to this Homerism through 17 fruitless years and it's always 'things are different now'. I remain in 'show me the baby' mode. Both Brown and Beasley are above avg to good and I like having I Thompson for depth for his speed and versatility. I think 1.5 should be more like 2.5.
  13. What you're missing is that we aren't in "love" with Kroft. He's an average NFL TE and a capable rotation guy. We just drafted Knox and Sweeney who have shown potential, so several other positions are higher priority like RT, WR, DE, RG, CB and LB. Heck, if we just signed or drafted an avg WR then added 2 major studs on the OL, ou offense would be so much better.
  14. I don't want to limit Singletary's carries. Draft another RB in the 4th or 5th with power to back him up.
  15. Hackett sucked in Buffalo and Jax, but I always said he might turn out OK when he grows up.
  16. Remember that Bills vs 49'ers game in the 90's which was the 1st game in history where neither team punted even once? I recall Pete Metzellars' recap -- "It was like watching a ping pong tournament."
  17. Agreed on Conklin and I'd love to see us add a premier DE along with B Jones. Sign Clowney and let Murphy and Shaq go so we can more easily absorb the cost, then draft an edge rusher to develop as the 4th DE. Our D would be even 2 shades stronger with Oliver returning and let's not forget Phillips x2. Jordan is starting to come on and Harry was playing really well before that unfortunate injury. I'm thinking that replacing Lo won't be as difficult. These moves could make this the best D we've seen in decades. Do we have cap space? I want Spain and Wallace back too. We go WR in the 1st and BPA in rounds 2-7.
  18. I'm conflicted here. I've long wondered why TEN didn't recognize what he could do for them, but I don't want to see Singletary's workload reduced. I think DS has a bright future ahead of him and would like to see him get 300+ carries in 2020. I just don't get people wanting to use a high pick on a RB before bolstering the blocking. We also have Christian Wade who showed exceptional running ability and now has a year of training. I'm excited to see what he can do.
  19. Mariota could compete for the starting job, but would be too expensive as a backup. Conklin at RT would be great as would A Cooper, but Dallas isn't about to let Cooper walk. Signing Conklin allows us to go for a WR in the 1st round. It would also allow us to move Ford inside to compete with Feliciano. Resigning Q Spain is a must as well.
  20. Just another indication that the Pegulas are determined to make this a 1st rate organization from top to bottom.
  21. Obviously Josh Allen has a very long way to go if he's ever going to take this team to a championship. Let's just hope he continues to develop. Give him a top echelon OL and another solid possession WR and let's see where we stand, but I'm still a very long way from convinced that he's going to be our franchise QB. Singletary is exceptional, so let's amplify his effect on the offense by adding a couple elite blockers in front of him. That will make Allen's job much easier and we won't have to rely on his weak accuracy as much.
  22. I honestly couldn't care less about the rest of the playoffs. As far as I'm concerned, when the Bills are finished, the season is finished. All of these playoff games amount to nothing more than Not-The_Bills vs Not-The_Bills.
  23. And don't even address the below average OL until day 3 of the draft? Yikes! sorry, But I must vehemently disagree on this. I may be old school, but games are still won and lost in the trenches and our OL is still a VERY long way from where they need to be if we are to seriously contend. We need to add no less than 2 total studs on the OL because we have 0 studs on the OL at present. 0. I'm surprised more people didn't see the need for another outside CB opposite White. We defended the pass well, but a shut down corner opposite Tre'Davious would make this defense rock solid along with a serious pass rushing threat. Our pass rush wasn't terrible, but if it were much better, we could have won 2 or 3 more games, IMO.
  24. Let's get real. Both Shaq and Trent are the very definition of average. We could easily let them go and upgrade the position, but we have so many other needs like OL and WR. Also, the CB spot opposite White isn't particularly strong and Lo has retired. I suspect Gore may retire too.
  25. Those stats strongly support my claim that OL, not WR, should be our top priority this offseason. A long-armed WR that wins a lot of 50-50 balls would be a big help, but that OL still needs a couple of very big upgrades. The real question again comes down to this. Can Beane spot talent in the draft? He hit a HR in the 3rd with Singletary, but overall, his draft day success has not been very impressive. I hope he has a steep learning curve so that he can avoid his past mistakes. His selections in rounds 1 and 2 have left me disappointed. I think Ford has a realistic shot at unseating Feliciano if he takes the next step in year 2. Feliciano is a shade below average. Spain is clearly better. I'd like to see us draft an OT in the 1st and a possession receiver in the 2nd (Pittman?) I haven't started looking at the draft class yet, though. We'll see how that plays out.
