  1. There are already RB FA's out there that are just as good so why give away draft picks for nothing? I don't even want to waste a draft pick on a RB when guys like Hyde and Anderson can be had at very reasonable prices. Use those day 3 picks to look for OL and DE help. Maybe we'll find the proverbial diamond in the rough. The next Ed Wang! (j/k)
  2. This guy may only be a backup, but he's a measurable improvement over the current IOL depth we had before we signed him. He might even push Feliciano for the starting job at RG and he's a C. I think he'll take Spencer Long's place at least.
  3. They put him at 12 which was very generous because none of his round 1 or 2 picks have lived up to their draft position yet. At least we got an elite player by trading away our 1st rounder this year. His FA signees have been mixed -- Some OK, some bad signings. I'm deeply disappointed with this year's crop of FA's, especially considering how much money we had to spend. I'm worried that we may face another irrelevant December with the playoffs out of reach given the schedule and lack of improvement during FA.
  4. Breida resigned with SF (Boo!) so my next choice is either Carlos Hyde or Jay Ajayi. We don't need to waste a day 2 pixk on a backup RB. I'd prefer an OT, pass rusher (DE or OLB) or RG or even a TE on day 2.
  5. We've probably lost as much or more than we've gained on defense despite all the FA money we had. We've literally done nothing for the offense outside of trading picks for Diggs. Our OL and DL have a long way to go. I don't think this roster is nearly as solid as many others do. Our best bet (after finding a franchise QB) is to build in the trenches.
  6. Our DL really isn't very good. Something is wrong if that's where we are spending big $. Oliver is on a rookie deal and still needs to show that he was worth a top 10 pick. I think he'll improve, but how much? Lotulelei is below average and overpaid. Hughes is still above average, but slipping. None of the newest DL signed as FA's this year are anything special. Also, H Phillips may turn out OK, but he's also a big question mark at this point.
  7. I don't think he's in the top 2 or 3, but he's very good and I hope he will sign for a fair price.
  8. We'll likely be picking no sooner than mid 2nd round, in which case there will be several potential draftees with nearly equal grades. Our biggest need ATM is RT, but I'm not going to try to predict. I just hope they don't waste our top pick on a S, RB or WR when the need is so much greater at OT, LE, CB, TE etc. I'd be fine with taking a QB in round 2 to push Allen for the starting job.
  9. Or we could sign a FA at a reasonable price since we aren't in need of a #1 RB. Someone like Hydr or Breida would fit the Bill.
  10. Unfortunately, things may not be back to normal for a long time after this pandemic is behind us. The aftereffects could linger for years as effective solutions will not be enacted by the government which is the only institution capable of repairing much of the damage and they work for the people that don't need help so they will only enact half measures. This will affect more than sports. It's already straining my personal finances as I have 3 sons out of work and 8 grandchildren depending on me. I won't be attending any pro games for some time to come even if the Coronavirus is contained soon.
  11. I nominate Reuben Gant, or as we used to call him -- Reuben Can't. Also, that CB from Ohio State that got his first start guarding Jerry Rice and held him under 50 yards -- Marlon Kerner. I think he retired because of some strange illness. He seemed to be a budding star and then he was gone.
  12. I think the fans should own the teams. We'd be a lot better at it than people realize. Just vote in a CEO to make the hiring and firing decisions for HC and GM and run the business side while HC and GM make the football decisions.
  13. Stick with the horseshoe. The new logo looks stupid. That's good enough for me.
  14. I'll be miles beyond disappointed if Beane does anything this stupid. He still needs to prove he can draft good players in the top 2 rounds and this would just be another misfire. We've been a wild card team because of great coaching and an easy schedule, but Beane still has much to prove.
  15. If there is any 1 position I'd like to see addressed, it's RT. I know we just signed Darryl Williams, but he was terrible at LG last year. He reminds me of Cordy Glenn. He was great until a lower body injury limited his mobility, hence his release. Too bad we couldn't test that knee before signing him. I still think Ford would be much better at G.
  16. Why bother with all of this nonsense? His ball placement is highly inconsistent even on short throws and a large percentage of his deep balls miss by 10 ' or more. Trust your eyes. Want our receivers to drop fewer passes? Try putting the ball on target. No receiver has an easier time bringing in passes if the ball is poorly placed. Josh Allen is an elite scrambler with great arm strength, but in the pocket, he plays like a backup. That said, he continues to improve. I'm hoping he can do what Tannehill did in Tennessee. My greatest fear is that he will do just enough to stick around a while and hold this team back like Winston did in Tampa. We have a good coaching staff and I'd hate to lose them because they refuse to part ways with him if his upward trend doesn't take him very far. He's a good person, hard worker and good leader and I'm pulling for him. Keeping my fingers crossed. He has another weapon now, but needs a better OL and TE before he can hit his full potential.
  17. And Ramsey is the later. My Dad used to say it's the gift of God to be able to see ourselves as others see us. How do guys not realize how this sort of blather sounds to well adjusted people? Oh wait. I think I just answered my own question.
  18. I really hope we do something to upgrade the OL, but that's looking like a remote possibility.
  19. Doug Whaley was a decent GM and he certainly wasn't helped by bad coaching, but he couldn't spot a good QB to save his life. He also passed on Mahomes. He wasn't too bad at spotting defensive talent, though. I could see him being hired as a Pro Personnel Director maybe. He did OK in that job.
  20. I can only think of Roscoe Parrish and Leodis McKelvin here. Andre Roberts may be considered today's best PR, but I don't think he's anywhere near as good as Roscoe and Leodis were. Some of those moves Parrish used to make were just insane! Am I leaving anyone out? I've been a Bills fan since day 1 and I don't recall anyone from the first 40 years (1960 - 2000) that was as exciting as these 2 guys.
  21. I'll be waiting for that UH-OH moment when someone walks by wearing a bath towel or a cat decides to steal the show. Could be fun.
  22. He needs to finish the season with a passing efficiency greater than 100 and cut the number of fumbles down. I won't get into completion rate, YPA, TD's and picks because that all factors into the passing efficiency rating anyways.
  23. If he could play like he did in KC, he'd be the best QB on our roster.
