  1. "Stefon", not Stephan. It's cool tho. That's an easy mistake to make because it's not the usual spelling.
  2. "Ecstatic" doesn't even come close. If Ford makes a big leap in year 2 and Williams returns to form, the OL could be a big asset rather than a liability. I know preseason accolades mean little, but this has given me hope.
  3. You're right about the fact that the probowl has become nothing more than a popularity contest. Edmunds should not have been there last year or Roberts. Edmunds, however could be a probowler if he continues to learn and cleans up his sloppy tackling. There's no excuse for a guy with such a long reach to miss so often. Also, LB talent overall in the NFL is pretty thin.
  4. I'm not so sure Norman would have won the starting job anyways given his age and the drastic decline in his performance over the past 2 seasons. People keep assuming that he's better than Levi Wallace. Maybe. Maybe not. You play like you practice.
  5. I think they know that if they opt out, the owner will be looking for an excuse to fire them. They will never say it's because they opted out, but unless you wear SB rings to work. you would be headed for the door before too long, like at the end of your current contract.
  6. I'd love to see it, but we would need MASSIVE upgrades at many positions, especially at QB, to get anywhere near there.
  7. Get well, Kevin. You just never seem to catch a break on the football field. Sorry to hear about this.
  8. 4 kickers on 1 roster? Bartender! I'll have what my friend BBFergy is having! Seriously Fergy. That's never gonna happen man. Never.
  9. I would think they'd be better off finding out what we have in AJ Epenesa before trading for a guy to take over his position. After all, he WAS a 2nd round pick. If he were a 25 year old all pro, than OK.
  10. Meanwhile, on an unrelated topic: https://www.nfl.com/videos/madden-nfl-21-first-look-at-new-teammates-josh-allen-and-stefon-diggs
  11. They should place speakers around the field and charge $2 to connect to one via the web. I'll take one behind the visiting teams bench.
  12. It seems pretty clear, doesn't it? He was playing very well, but suffered numerous injuries which severely reduced his effectiveness to that of a bubble player. Time for Spencer to give his aching body some rest and healing. I just hope he isn't one of the retired NFL players whose injuries seriously compromise his quality of life. Head and neck injuries are the worst though. I'm not aware of any concussions or spinal cord injuries in his past. I hope he'll be OK.
  13. Ouch! Stomach cancer is no joke. I knew someone that died from it. Very painful! And only 57! Sad news.
  14. I just wanted to add that I don't think actual NFL game experience is a factor for punters other than to overcome the jitters the 1st time out. How many times do they have to go through the same simple motion sequence to be able to repeat it in a game?
  15. If Josh doesn't take a really big step this year, odds are he never will and he'll be the next JP Losman. I haven't heard a lot of people say that this is a make or break year for any of those guys and I doubt many are saying that about Watson. With all due respect, I think you are overly sensitive to any criticism of Allen.
  16. I disagree on both points. I don't see how, after playing so well last year, they just suddenly give up on a 3rd round pick. Also, I clearly remember reading comments by Fewell and Jauron about how Kyle stepped right in and played at a high level as a rookie.
  17. If Cam is healthy, this isn't even a question. Allen is one the worst passers among starting QB's in the NFL. Cam was an MVP the last time he was healthy. No contest.
  18. We have no one at DT that has proven himself, but there is potential. Brandon Beane sure does like signing marginal talent though and everyone compliments him for being pennywise. That's not to say that he hasn't signed any probowl calibur talent, but we are going to be relying on a lot of unproven talent at several positions. If H Phillips isn't a solid starter, we are reduced to hoping that unproven Oliver pans out. We really don't have another DT worthy of a starting job. This, along with the missed tackles by Edmunds, could leave us very soft against the run. Oh and I believe it was an ACL tear. If Phillips gets cut, that's a big blow to the team after he was playing so well at the start of the 2019 season. I think it would be a huge mistake to give up on him so soon.
  19. PK is nothing like QB. All you have to do is kick the ball a few times a game. Experience isn't an issue. Bass faced enough high and low pressure situations in college for them to judge well enough and he'll be kicking every day in camp. I'm not concerned.
  20. Perhaps his background and skills are a good fit for that position, but we don't know that. Besides, he still hasn't proven himself as a GM yet. Let's see how his 1st and 2nd rounders pan out first, can we? None of them have played up to their draft position yet. Good lord! Some people talk like these guys just won back to back SB's. In 2018 you all wanted the Pegulas to clean house despite the obvious fact that it was a rebuilding year and I was defending them. Can't anyone exercise sober judgement here? If they lose you want Beane and McDermott fired immediately. If they win a single game against a decent team you want them annointed as president of the team. Get a grip. We've had 2 playoff losses in 3 years. Forget the slump. The goal is the Lombardi trophy and that's the standard they will ultimately be judged by.
  21. Good news, but I'd wait on Beane. He's got a lot of high draft picks (Allen, Edmunds, Oliver, Ford) that still haven't played up to a level that would justify their draft position. Allen, in particular is still a long way away from where he needs to be to justify everything we gave up to acquire him. I like the move, but I can't argue with those that say we should have waited a year. If we don't take a big step up in scoring offense, some may question this move. After all, waiting a year wouldn't have hurt anything. Then again, the positive signal sent by the 1st HC contract extension in a long time might just light a fire in everyone's step. It didn't work in Jauron's case, but I already can see that McDermott is a better HC.
  22. Marv always said the draft was a crap shoot. It certainly was for Marv, but 2021 will be even more so. I expect teams won't be so shy about drafting for need even though they say they don't and then go out every year and do it anyways from the 1st to the last pick. Anybody want to start those mock drafts early?
