  1. 1. Lou Saban (back to back 1st place finishes) 2. Marv Levy (4 consecutive 2nd place finishes) . . . Last - Harvey Johnson (2-26)
  2. For what it's worth, his overall Madden rating is 75 which is much better than Siran Neal (overall 66). To interpret for you -- It means he has a pulse. Sometimes Madden ratings are spot on and sometimes they are way off, but usually they're about right unless a player's performance level is rapidly improving or declining. They haven't even added Dane Jackson to our roster yet, so I don't know what his is. Norman is a 76. White is a 91. Unless you're talking about K Benjamin or Star Lotulelei.
  3. I really hope they don't make the mistake of extending him. It shouldn't take 3 years to figure out how to play LB. QB's may take that long, but not LB's.
  4. I doubt they'd trade him to us, but I'd be all for having the best outside CB tandem in football by far.
  5. Definitely not a starter, but he's better than AJ Klein by a hair.
  6. Some posters don't think he is good any more because he isn't getting as many sacks. They fail to notice that he is consistently in the league's top 5 at getting pressure and has evolved into an all around solid DE. We need to keep him and Addison on the field together as much as possible. Since Hughes is clearly the better run defender, he should play the LE position most of the time. His awareness and ability to quickly diagnose plays are still excellent. I would just add that I think Oliver will play better too now that the knee is better and we still don't know where his ceiling is. He's not playing poorly, but he needs to get better. We need a great NT next to him. I really think that would help him a lot having a 1 tech guy that can push the pile. Maybe Epenesa will push Addison and Murphy for a starting job too. Just add a better MLB to that list and our front 7 looks OK.
  7. Q Williams hasn't impressed in NY. Do you think he will suddenly turn it around here? I'm not sure about that.
  8. I didn't think he had any business playing in the probowl last year either. I'm just not a fan. To me, he's turning out just like Shaq Lawson -- A pretty good backup. I don't see him getting extended to a 5th year. They'll probably give him another shot in 2022 and just let him walk after the season unless he makes HUGH strides. I don't see it happening. After all the snaps he's had, the game still hasn't slowed down for him. I don't even understand how he can't shed blockers with his long reach and strength. It's unfortunate because MLB is a crucial position in McDermott's scheme. Don't look for too much criticism from his coaches though. They typically do not criticise their players in public (with 1 exception -- Dareus).
  9. Fletcher Cox in a Bills uniform is just too much to hope for, but he would improve our defense a LOT against the run and would really help the pass rush.
  10. Good news. Wallace is nothing great, but he's better at CB than Neal by a mile. I can't say about Jackson. I haven't seen enough of him yet.
  11. Williams has come a long way in just 1 year to be named 2nd team all pro for the first ¼ of the season considering the injury. Dawkins is pretty average and I wouldn't signing a really good LT and moving him inside where Ford is struggling badly. I think Dawkins would be better inside. Another stud at RG would be awesome too. Feliciano and Winters are pretty mediocre as well.
  12. I can't say how much of our problems are injury related. Perhaps we have several players playing at 90% because they are playing hurt. If I don't know more about this, I can't say we need to replace anyone. Hughes can still play well and we just added Addison and Epenese. We could use a true NT, but no more average DT's please. A CB would be good, but would have to fit our scheme and we have several average CB's so it would need to be a very good player. A Guard or LT (move Dawkins inside) would be really nice, but again, I'd only want a very good one. Same with TE as Kroft is average and Knox hasn't come around yet. If they feel the need and it's a favorable deal, OK, but get an elite player or don't bother.
  13. He's 32 and his performance has been slipping badly this season from years past. This is why Dallas is trying to unload him while they can still get something in return. Maybe he's just not motivated because the Cowboys are bad and their defense is worse.
  14. I was 4 when the Bills were born. I still remember those raucous fans at the Rockpile, the smell of cigars all around, the back to back championships. I've just never even considered rooting for anyone else. There have been players I've admired from other teams like Butkus, Namath, Marino and Reggie White, but as long as they represent my hometown, I will never waiver in my support even if they are 0-16, they are still my only team.
  15. Both RB's played well. This is the same Singletary that averaged an eye popping 5.1 yards per carry last year. We are not desperate. We just need to execute better.
  16. All through the 2nd half I kept thinking about that Bills vs Chargers game where McDermott took over the playcalling from Frazier and the defense went from horror show to hammer time. It wouldn't surprise me if that happened in this game too. I wonder if Frazier is easier to predict and his HC is catching offenses off guard more frequently. If this is the case, McDermott needs to own up to this and start calling the plays for the defense going forward.
  17. 1. Beasley 2. Hughes Josh played OK as did much of the defense and both RB's, but these 2 clearly stood out. I was happy to see Jackson play well, but how will he fare against top tier receivers? Perhaps we'll know soon enough.
  18. Time will tell about Tua. He must be impressing Chan a lot because Fitz was playing very well. I do worry about Miami down the road, though. They have a lot of young talent and they are coached as well as any team in the NFL. Look for the Bills, Patriots and Dolphins to be solid in the future.
  19. Singletary isn't the problem. Our OL is 2 studs short of good. Dawkins is just average. D Williams has played well. Morse is a shade above average. Ford stinks and Winters has been below average. We need big upgrades at both G spots. Unfortunately, I don't see that happening.
  20. With Norman out and Wallace on IR, we are VERY weak at that outside CB spot, but who could come right in and play? It would have to be someone that played for McDermott before and I have no idea who that might be, if anyone. I still can't believe they just let Spain walk. I bet they're regretting that move now. I honestly don't see Beane panicking, though. We'll probably just ride this injury bug out and hope we can still make it to the postseason relatively intact. He has shown almost nothing so far. He's been no better than an average DT. I'd rather draft a DT next Spring.
  21. He's no better than what we already have. Why bother? We have too many so-so players already. We just gave Addison $30 mill to pick up our pass rush. We need to start thinking about adding elite talent if we're serious about winning -- especially at DE, CB, QB, OT and WR/TE. Josh will rebound (I hope). Williams looks good at RT and White has played well in the past and hopefully can pick it up again. We're set at WR. We need to add top end talent at the rest of those positions.
  22. If Oliver is going to be Darius 2.0 then OK, but I have no way of knowing. The league as a whole lacks talent at DT except Washington.
  23. I like Engram too, but Washington has 3 pretty good DT's on their roster and any one of them would be a big help. I'm not sure about edge rushers or guards.
  24. He definitely needs more nastiness. I remember Dick Butkus saying his fondest wish was to hit a guy so hard that his head would come off and roll down the field. Aside from his other shortcomings, Edmunds could use some of that moxie.
  25. He'd be the best backup QB in the NFL and a big upgrade over Barkley.
