  1. While everyone is talking about RB's and WR's, has anyone noticed that the top CB still standing is a former 7th round pick that is well below average for a CB. Jackson has done well just to stick on an NFL roster this long, but do we really want a starting tandem of Neal/Jackson week 1? That thought really scares me. I don't want either of those guys taking even 3% of the defensive snaps. I'm sure Beane is working on it, but the situation is severe. That would be far and away the worst starting outside CB's anywhere. Do we draft a CB on day 1? I sure hope so, but that won't be anywhere near enough. We need to address this now. I don't think having 2 rookies starting at outside CB is the answer either. We also don't know when White will be ready, but it will be December at the earliest, I would guess. We also don't know if White will need time to fully recover or IF he will fully recover. I suspect he'll be his old self befotr too long. Put yourself in Beane's seat. What moves would you be trying to pull off that are realistic? I'm looking at the Panthers CB stable and I could see a better CB than Levi shaking loose. Can we afford that? I also like Kyler Gordon, but I don't really follow college football. I know he's scheme versatile and a great tackler. Great short area burst. You thoughts?
  2. What are people getting their panties tied in a knot over? He'd be the bakcup and as good a mentor as Josh could hope for. People aren't being rational about this. Look at the quality at QB2 on most rosters. Pretty ugly, huh? Fitz is still better than most of those guys if healthy and a great off field presence. I know this is going out on a limb, but could he be a player/QB Coach? Hea's certainly got the smarts and experience. He might even be a great playcaller if Dorsey is struggling. Just a thought.
  3. Hughes, Addison, Beasley, Lotulelei, Breida, Sanders, Klein, Phillips, Trubisky, Feliciano and a surprise or 2? So we will have to draft a CB, WR, HB and any other holes that open up. I still think Will Dissly, a 265 lb TE would be a great, inexpensive add as a blocking TE for those late season games and big 4th quarter leads. Howard is a decent blocker too. I can't wait to see him healthy. We could be looking at a lot more 2TE formations.
  4. Of course there will be even more pressure with Miller on board (Pun intended). That's part of the job. I think this team and its staff will respond with our best season yet. The real question is, is Dorsey a good playcaller? He should pay Chan to consult on how to set up his plays to catch defenses off guard. Hit 'em where they ain't. OK. I'm half-kidding.
  5. He could start for several teams. I'm not sure he'd want to play 2nd fiddle to Knox though. He'd be a great addition for the right price. Just add a blocking TE and we're set.
  6. No thanks to either. Phillips isn't that good and Jones... Well, I don't know what he has left.
  7. I have no problem with this. He was a moderate upgrade from Moss and Breida, but still a #2. He would have been our 3rd down back, but he can be replaced easily enough. I'd rather have a big back for late season home games.
  8. I hope he wins the starting job. He's better than many Bills fans will admit, but still not a franchise QB by a fair amount.
  9. We badly needed an upgrade opposite White and Jackson was awful too. The Panthers have 3 pretty decent CB's behind Gilmore. Jackson would be a great addition.
  10. Now with 2 new DT's on board, the most important positions are CB, RG and Edge. I doubt we'll make another DT FA signing unless someone is foolish enough to ear Star's contract. I seriously doubt that.
  11. Good luck Harry. Stay healthy and have a great career.
  12. I like this signing ok, but I want Phillips to stay until he reaches his peak. He's just getting going. We don't want him to end like Wyatt Teller. Both he and Settle have shown flashes and Star is useless. I don't care if we have to eat some deas money. Star is a liability when he's on the field.
  13. Healthy, average pass protector, near elite run blocker. I'm guessing they slot him at RG and move Williams to LG where he played in his last season with Carolina. I want Donte Jackson too! They have several decent CB's and Gilmore needs to get paid. D Jackson, T White an T Johnson. Add an elite sack artist at RE and this D looks like ir could be elite.
  14. Clearly we needed an upgrade at LG, but it's too bad we couldn't afford to keep him as 1st man off the bench at C or G. He'll get paid though. There are many teams with worse starting G's than Jon. His attitude and enthusiasm will be missed and will serve him well even after he hangs up his cleats.
  15. Now that he has fully recovered from his ACL injury, it would be foolish not to make a reasonable offer. He is on the rise and Star is the most overpaid guy on this roster by a mile. I don't want Star here. He's clearly not motivated and it shows. Sign Ioannis if possible. Edge, CB and OL are much bigger needs for us. I don't want to see a WR or DT in round 1 unless we have sizable upgrades at those positions already signed.
  16. He was a mile ahead of everyone else too. 67% to 60% for the next tier. This part of his game has seen a huge improvement. I remember his first 2 seasons when he was missing deep balls by a country mile. I've seen many players go from failure to glory, but never like Allen. His degree of improvement is unprecedented -- especially his accuracy.
  17. I wouldn't mind at all. We could sign him for a relatively long contract at that price, we'd have to sacrifice something else, but he's capable of putting up big numbers when healthy. Besides, Edge Rusher is widely regarded as the 2nd most important position on the team. If we go Edge in round 1 or 2, we'd better trade for a G because Cogs is the ONLY G in FA that I'd want in a Bills uniform. That means we'd be stuck trying to trade up to get a decent OL because there will likely be a run on them in round 1. That means we'd have to splurge for a CB instead if one is even available. Levi Wallace has been ok at times, but he's had too many bad games. Other needs like depth at RB and TE can be addressed more easily without spending a fortune. Also, while I think Spencer Brown probably has a bright future, he is by no means a sure bet and he has a long way to go just to be average. We knew he'd be a project though. I really hope he and Rousseau catch fire in '23.
  18. I voted yes, but only at a fair price. We need depth at TE and Gronk is still pretty good. We'd have to play more 2TE formations, but that's fine if we let Beasley go. We still have bigger needs like OL, WR2, Edge, CB2 (upgrade from Wallace), RB depth. I'd love to be able to keep Harry and sign a guy like Ioannidis to replace Star. Still, having Gronk would still be nice. We'd have to add more speed outside to take full advantage of a Knox/Gronk tandem.
  19. I wonder if this is the best time to be thinking about expanding overseas. Our international popularity isn't exactly at an all-time high.
  20. I haven't seen a lot of Troy's broadcasts, but I remember him doing a Bills game and I was impressed. On top of his ability to be interesting, he was far better informed about the Billsn than any of the others I'd heard besides our home broadcasting crew. Back then, all ther announcers were pronouncing players names wrong. They clearly didn't understand the team. Troy will be a good addition to MNF.
  21. If a guy has committed a crime and pays his debt to society, I'd give him another chance. That doesn't mean it can't happen again, but all too often, we make it so hard on them that recovery becomes much more difficult. Hunt is far better than most people realize. That said, I don't know him personally and I'd want to talk to people in Cleveland about any character concerns before making such a move. If he's come around, I'd say OK, but any more woman beating and you are finished. No guaranteed money. No nothing. There's the door.
  22. I want Ioannidis to replace Star. He should be starting somewhere and he is one of the strongest players in the NFL. He'd be a really nice upgrade and with Phillips and Oliver that would be a good interior. We need an elite edge rusher though.
  23. Ogbah is pretty good. I don't care to see anyone else on that list on our roster unless they are a backup. I wouldn't mind having Fitz around -- even after he retires.
  24. Kirk is OK, but nothing special -- Decent speed and hands. Connor Williams is worse than what we already have -- No thanks.
