Joe Haden should retire. He's still way better than Dane Jackson, but I don't care if neither of them play for us. This just shows how bad our CB situation really is. The right side of our OL is just as bad. I don't see how we can say we are approaching this draft without needs. A WR, LB, TE, DT or RB at 25 is a mistake that will cost us. I'd trade a 3rd for Bradberry in a heartbeat, but can we afford him? Does Beane have that much magic? I'll be singing his praises if he pulls that move off.

I can't believe he isn't there already. The guy was on the All-Time AFL 1st team. He was phenomenal.

Another fun fact: The Jets have won a SB. In fact, they were the first AFL team to do it when everyone said it was impossible. We have won 0 SB's. This is not a legitimate basis for criticism.

All stadium deals are bad for the taxpayers. Billionaires avoid taxes then make the taxpayers foot the bill. That's money better spent for greater needs. Nothing new about this.

A 5 time probowler to fill our gaping hole at CB would have been a real difference maker. Our odds took a hit when he signed with Indy. Oh well. We'd better get that CB position figured out quickly. As it stands right now, our CB corps is going to cost us a few victories. We won't be able to enter this draft with BPA in mind when we have such a big need at this important position. Also, if the coverage is poor, that gives the pass rushers less time to get home. We also must do more for the right side of the OL if we want Josh to continue playing at a very high level.

Ascending: Rousseau, Basham. I like them both. Gabriel Davis for sure. I think Howard could have his best season yet if he's healthy. We could see a lot of 2 TE formations in '22. Hopefully Spencer Brown will take a huge step this year because he's got a long way to go. He will need help protecting Allen from our TE's, RB's or FB. That limits our options on offense. Singletary was playing the best ball in his career at season's end. His fumbling wasn't an issue either. He'll never be great, but the biggest problem with our run game was the blocking. Everyone is writing off Moss. He can be a solid #2 if the right side of the OL is upgraded considerably. Both Moss and Singletary payed the price for a weak OL as well as Josh. I think Bass is 1 game winning FG away from greater recognition. Also, Gilliam isn't special, but he's still one of the better FB's in the league. Stuck in neutral: Oliver, Edmunds. Edmunds has reached his peak. He doesn't have elite instincts and he's a so-so tackler. Oliver is decent, but hasn't shown significant improvement even if a few people talked about him taking a big step last year. Neither is a bust, but they aren't what I was hoping for. Descending: I am not a fan of Bates or Boettger. They're just OK as backups, but both could be easily replaced. I hope neither one has to play in '22. Dane Jackson will make the roster, but if we add a couple CB's in the draft, he'll be riding the pine nearly all year. Shocking: No one. Packing: Ford. He actually played OK last year in limited snaps, but the die has been cast. He will be replaced in the draft on day 1 or 2. Sweeney may get the axe too. Same with Jerry Hughes and that will be a tough one for the fans. After all, he's been here the longest. Haak is gone.

Edmunds for sure. I like Poyer a lot, but I don't know if we can afford him. Oliver is not playing at a top 10 pick level. He and Edmunds are OK, but they can be replaced fairly easily with day 2 picks when their contracts expire. Knox will be Bill for years to come and should be in this conversation as well. Singletary will perhaps move on, but that depends on his price tag.

It's been 61 years that the Bills have been a team and then previously in the All-American Football Conference (1946 - 1949). Only 2 times in those 66 seasons have the Buffalo Bills walked off the field as the last team standing. Those games were the 1964 and 1965 AFL Championship games. As far as I'm concerned, no other games belong in the same discussion of 'best game ever'. In the 1965 title game, the Bills were on the road in Balboa Stadium in San Diego to play the Chargers whose offense boasted the presence of 3 future Hall of Fame talents in QB John Hadl, WR Lance Alworth and HB Keith Lincoln of "The Shot Heard 'Round the World" fame. Chargers Head Coach Sid Gillman was and still is revered and deservedly so. He was an inovator whose philosophy was to "stretch the field" which changed the game forever. The Bills defense was incredible that day. The final score was 23-0. The previous year they beat the Chargers 20-7 for their first title. There's no contest. The comeback and those others the OP mentioned were great games, but they don't hold a candle to back-to-back championships by a combined 43-7 margin. Not even close. Last. Team. Standing. That's what it's all about.

The right side of our OL is a huge liability that other teams will exploit if we don't get serious about upgrading there. I have little confidence in either Brown or Bates.

Definitely Knox. I'd love to keep Singletary and Poyer, but I don't know if we can afford them. Edmunds can be easily replaced. Oliver needs to take a big step in 2022. He has been very ordinary since day 1 and shown very little improvement to date. I haven't bought into the narrative that he had a breakout season in 2021. I'm also tired of people making excuses for him. It's always about how he needs better players around him. He was a top 10 pick. He should be the one making the players around him better, not the other way around.

I'm hearing OBJ to the Chiefs and Melvin Gordon to the Ravens. I haven't seen either confirmed yet. Also, Mathieu released by Chiefs.

If it's not an outside CB it had better be someone that can step right in and shore up the right side of our OL or we're going to have serious problems there. I think it has to be a CB because there will be a dropoff in talent after the first few. RG/RT/CB are far and away the biggest needs. Beane can say publicly that we have no holes in our roster, but we clearly have 3 moon sized craters. We could use better depth at RB and replacements for Edmunds and Poyer if we can't keep them. I think Edmunds won't be hard to replace, but we can't replace Poyer this draft without paying a very high price for ignoring bigger needs. A slot receiver would be nice, but not in the top 2 rounds. We can't afford it.

I think that moving up makes no sense. The team now has several huge contracts and must address multiple deficiencies in this draft. They would be much smarter to trade down to add more day 2 picks to address CB and OL. Depth at RB and WR are concerns, but I don't want to have to watch 2 turnstiles at RG and RT and a bubble player starting at CB all year. Josh's completion rate under duress vs in a clean pocket was the biggest difference among starting QB's last year. Usually OL isn't a sexy pick, but protecting Josh better will pay big dividends and we need at least 1 guy on the right side with a decent win rate against pass rushers unless we want our TE's and RB's pass protecting all year instead of catching passes and running. I assume the need at CB is obvious as well. We need at least 2 CB's and 1 that can start.

Given our cap situation, we can't afford a luxury pick in round 1 when we have 3 massive holes in our starting lineup at RG, RT and outside CB. These moon-sized craters must now be addressed through the draft unless there's some salary cap magic up Beane's sleeve that I haven't heard of. I know these positions aren't as sexy as OL or CB, but we will pay a big price if we ignore this. With Diggs, Davis, Crowder and McKenzie we already have a solid WR corps. Depth would be nice on the perimeter though.

No. It makes no sense to leave a starting job at such an important spot in the hands of a 'bubble player' when you just signed an elite pass rusher. The front and back work together. McD and Frazier working with the best talent on D that we've seen in years? Oh he__ ya!

What do you mean by "how he left"? The Bills made an offer and NE offered more. We had been a bad team for many years and NE was winning SB's. We were undergoing regime changes regularly while NE was set for the long run. He wanted to win and get paid. What's the problem?

Our needs by priority: 1. OL + CB (tied) 2. WR depth + RB depth (tied) 3. LB 4. P At least that's how I see it.

No. My favorite Bills teams were the back to back AFL Champions anyway. Nothing I've seen since has swayed me from that position.

I think the holes at CB and the right side of the OL both need to be addressed and there will be good value on day 2 at those positions. I think it more likely that they'll trade down and try to grab a couple picks in the 2nd round. WR and RB would also be nice adds, but I wouldn't be in a hurry to move many guys to fill out those position groups when we already have solid starters there.

I like Dane Jackson as a #4 or #5 CB, but I suspect much of the game planning and play calling was to give him help or mitigate his liability. That takes away from what the defense as a whole can do. I know our D was OK against weak offenses, but we still had issues. It wasn't all on Jackson either. Still, he's a significant weak spot in our D.
