  1. The right side of our OL is VERY weak (Brown, Bates, Ford, Quessenberry, Boettger, Hart, Doyle, Ulmer, Mancz, Capra, Karstatter, Owen, Tanuta, Anderson). There isn't anyone solid in that group. Brown may be the best among them, but PFF gave him the 6th lowest pass protection grade among OT's with 600+ snaps last year and his run blocking wasn't much better. I think that if Morse, Saffold or Morse gets hurt, our offensive production goes way down. Kromer really has his work cut out for him. After that, depth at CB, LB and WR are concerns, but not anywhere close to our OL problems.
  2. How are we rated that high? Quessenberry is another Ty Nsehke. Brown and Bates would be backups on most rosters. Morse is a slice above average and both Saffold and Dawkins one more slice above that. All that considered, our OL is pretty average. This evaluation seems quite biased. There were times last season when our RB's had no holes to run through, albeit with injuries. Allen was pressured more times than any other QB (185) and he was hurried way more than any other QB -- 95 times vs 76 for Hurts who was #2. The only significant upgrade was at LG and the RG position is even weaker than last year.
  3. She should be a Madden rater. I'm sure she could do a better job than the current crew.
  4. Will the Texans have the oldest DE's in the NFL with Addison and Hughes? I bet they're close.
  5. Best of luck Jerry. You'll be missed.
  6. I think we never saw Dareus' full potential. I've wondered if he could have been the best player in the NFL at any position if he'd been driven to be the best. It's a sad story for sure.
  7. I don't think we can afford Bradberry. Besides, if Elam starts, where do we put Bradberry when White returns? Bradberry is a very good starter, but I think any extra cap space should be spent on the OL.
  8. If we could resign D Williams, that would help a lot. He's pretty average, but substantially better than any other G on the roster besides Saffold. I'm not sold on Brown by a long shot, but I do think he has potential. The question is, how soon will Brown start playing at starter level. Hopefully that will happen this Summer.
  9. I'm going with Spencer Brown. He's clearly the weakest link in the chain. Josh Allen needs him to protect much better. His run blocking needs almost as much work too.
  10. Love this pick. His 3-Cone was dissappointing so I wonder if he can shake free of NFL CB's. The hands and leaping ability are elite. Decent speed too. He was successful in the slot so maybe that 3-Cone time (7.28 sec.) was a fluke. His 1st vertical was 34.5. He then jumped to 38.5. That's some serious air for a 6'0" guy. If he can be a decent route runner, he could have a very high ceiling. I also expect Davis to flourish with more snaps.
  11. Agreed, but right now he's still the 2nd best G on the roster after Saffold. I hope 1 of these rookie OL turns out to be the steal of the year.
  12. If any of these UDFA OL are any good, they have a real shot at this roster. We have 3 solid OL on the roster (Dawkins, Saffold & Morse) but after that, nothing much to speak of. The talent level drops off precipitously. If any of those top 3 OL go down, things could get really ugly. I figure at least 1 or 2 rookie OL can make the final 53.
  13. Good picks, but I just don't get the lack of attention to the OL. C, LG and LT starters are solid, but there's a HUGE dropoff after that. I sure hope Beane has another trick up his sleeve. I was decidedly underwhelmed by the Quessenberry signing. Great story, but still a backup caliber player. I sure hope Brown takes a gargantuan leap this year. Kromer really needs to earn his keep this Summer.
  14. Another day 3 pick that should make the roster. White, Elam and Johnson are solid, but after that, the cupboard is bare. All he has to do is show up LOL.
  15. This guy makes the roster. The right side of our OL is a mess and the depth is nothing special either. If he's any good AT ALL I don't see how he can miss. There's no competition.
  16. This guy could have been taken in the 4th round. That was a long reach.
  17. I don't see how this pick helps us. I guess we're just going to run left all year. Maybe we have a big trade coming to upgrade the right side of our OL. Beane just has the worst luck in round 2. Well, I guess we have a good depth RB. He'll be an ok 3rd down back, but I hope he won't be taking carries away from Singletary or this will be a wasted pick. I was hoping for someone that could upgrade a starting position in round 2. Oh well.
  18. G or OT please. I won't cry if Beane likes someone else, but a 2nd round talent at WR, RB or TE isn't going to help us much. A solid OL on the right side fills a huge need, but I don't know the value of the remaining players. I just know that even an average starter at RG or RT helps Josh a LOT. I don't want to see a player in round 2 that isn't a noticeable upgrade over the current starter. A solid RG/RT combo would leave this team with no real weak spots other than a couple depth positions.
  19. Sanity prevails. Excellent speed too. I read that he needs a little coaching up, but he's coming to DB University. Elite athletic skills. Now OL and RB and a WR on day, I hope. I predict we draft a punter on day 3. We also need a Sam LB, but that's not urgent. I was expecting Booth, but I trust OBD on this pick.
  20. Well there's a good chance that our 1st round pick will be a CB or OL, but I agree that he'll want to sign a capable vet sooner rather than later. The cupboard is bare if Trae isn't ready and I don't want him to be rushed and risk a setback. 2 studs at outside CB with an improved rush would make this D a LOT better. They play great against bad QB's, but that won't help us in the playoffs -- especially in the AFC. Now if they'd only bring back the bump and run.
  21. M'eh. OK. I don't know why anyone thinks he's very good. He's above average, but nothing special. His level of play has been slightly above average since day 1. I think this is what he'll be for years to come if he stays healthy.
  22. We simply must add a couple outside CB's, but I'd still be OK with a G or OT for the right side of the OL at 25. A better OL would be the 1 thing that would help Josh the most given last year's performance. Josh in a clean pocket gives us our best shot at the Lombardi Trophy.CB or OL. Last year our biggest need was DE and we took DE's with our top 2 picks. Somehow that was twisted into proof that Beane doesn't draft for need.
  23. We are in BIG trouble if we go WR/RB in this draft. I don't want to see us take either position on day 1 or day 2. Beane didn't address OL until round 3 last year and we paid a big price. I hope sanity prevails.
  24. Haden is finished. Fuller would be nice, but I don't know where we'll get the money. If Bouye could stay healthy, he'd be quite good. His recent injuries might make him affordable on a 1 year deal. IF he can stay healthy. The right side of our OL is really bad. Saffold is an average pass protector. I don't understand why some people don't understand that. Josh Allen under pressure is much worse than Josh Allen in a clean pocket. According to One Bills Live, his passing efficiency rating was 30 points higher in a clean pocket. That was the biggest difference among starting QB's last year. Granted, Quesenberry is better than either Bates or Brown, but he's still just a typical backup OL. If we don't address this effectively it will cost us dearly as in 2-4 wins less. I'm going to hope the Bills make a bold move in this draft to address CB and RG with 2 worthy day 1 starters.
  25. The Lamonica trade was symptomatic of the malaise the Bills franchise has suffered for most of its existence. He wasn't good enough for us, but immediately upon his arrival in Oakland, he took the Raiders to the SB. I don't even know what we got in return, but that had to be our worst trade ever. He was clearly better than Jack Kemp too. It was 6 preseason games and 14 regular season games.
