D&C'S MAIORANA: Clock Is Ticking On Dennison
GreggTX replied to OldTimeAFLGuy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I beg to differ. There's nothing like outguessing the other teams's playcallers to give you a big edge. -
Ringing endorsements from national media
GreggTX replied to Billsfan1972's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Clearly he hasn't watched Peterman play. I know this is his first real test, but at least give the kid a chance. -
I think he looks strong in the football smarts area. He makes good decisions (usually) and gets rid of the ball quickly. He's not the athlete that Tyrod is, but his arm looks better than advertised coming out of school. We'll see how that part about making good decisions holds up on Sunday. It won't be garbage time and definitely not preseason. Who knows? Maybe this kid turns out pretty good. I'll cross my fingers.

49ers could be our trading partner
GreggTX replied to Niagara Dude's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We simply must accept it. Tyrod is not the answer. This last game removed all doubt. It's all in on a new elite QB or a rookie with the potential to become elite. No more excuses! -
Every Nate Peterman throw from the Saints game
GreggTX replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He clearly sees the whole field. He makes good decisions and gets the ball out quickly. His accuracy, to me, looks better than advertised just as it did last Summer. -
They didn't quit. They have no one to plug the middle with Dareus gone. If other teams can run at will, we'll have to throw a lot to try to catch up. We can't be putting games on Tyrod's shoulders. I believe getting rid of Marcell was the right move, long term. For the rest of 2017, however, the wins won't come so easily
-
We clearly need to get much better on offense. Adding a QB and some help on the OL and at RB will fix that. What we really need to save the season is a run defense. Right now, our front 7 is terrible. Hughes is playing very well and Kyle remains average. Lorenzo has been average too. The rest of that front 7 is VERY weak. We're going to get pushed around a lot until next offseason when we can hopefully resolve these issues.

What's wrong with this team? And how can it be fixed?
GreggTX replied to LA Grant's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't expect it, but I'd love to see Peterman get a shot. I think we already have a good idea what we have in Tyrod and he has trade value. Let's see what NP can do if Tyrod's struggles continue so we know what to do this offseason. -
Bills D has quit on the fans
GreggTX replied to Norwood for Wall of Fame's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
"On the fans"? How about Kyle is ready to retire and the rest of our DT's aren't even good backups. Shaq has been a bust so far and our LB's are overrated. -
The Last time we had a good Oline?
GreggTX replied to Livinginthepast's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm not saying our OL doesn't need upgrading, but a QB that holds the ball too long or a run first approach with a RB that mixes a high number of losses along with big gains makes their jobs harder. -
P Brown hasn't played well since his rookie year. This year is no different. He'd be a capable backup as 'first man up', but it looks like that's all he'll ever be. Don't always fall for the preseason hype about what a great season some guy looks poised to have. They said the same thing about Shaq last Summer.
-
All this team needs is a QB that can fit the system and a few upgrades in the front 7 on D. There are several other things that would be really nice to have, but that would be a great start.
-
1. Yarbrough is a DE, not a DT. 2. We aren't going to the playoffs. We were a 8-8 team with Dareus. We are a 7-9 team without him at this point. I think 2 more wins is realistic. Or someone to compete with Peterman next year.
-
LOL jumping the gun already? Beane hasn't even held a draft yet. Come on. Do you really expect them to say they are throwing out this season for next year?

GreggTX replied to LA Grant's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
1. Take a chance on another QB next year. Peterman can compete with a new addition, but no more mediocre vets at QB. Sign a heavyweight or draft a QB in the top 2 rounds and let him battle NP for the job. 2. Draft DL help and sign a solid vet DT. If Shaq is not producing in his 3rd year, try to unload him. 3. Draft an OT in rd 1 or 2. 4. Draft a RB to split time with McCoy. It worked for Thurman. 5. Sign or draft someone to compete with Gaines for his job. 6. Continue adding players with a strong will and solid work ethic. 7. Upgrade the 'speed' wideout role. Thompson is decent, but a full time starter on the outside with world class speed gives you the ability to stretch defenses. -
I wish Marcell well, but they had to unload him. He was easily our best DT even without a "sense of urgency". Still, he was tying up $108,000,000 of cap space over 6 years and playing like he was worth half that amount. We'll be better off in the long run, but will suck on run defense until we can reload at DT and LDE. Right now, Hughes is the only one really playing well in that group. Good thing we have lots of draft picks.
-
I'm a lot disappointed. He's playing like he should have lasted until the 3rd round. Our DL is a disaster right now.

Give Peterman the start vs. the Chargers - and -
GreggTX replied to Punt75's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't see us changing QB's any time soon, but if we lose to the Bolts and Chiefs, anything could happen. -
Players taking a liking to Benjamin
GreggTX replied to Buffalo716's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He has the best hands on the team and he's great at fighting for the ball in traffic. -
Let's see him win a playoff game first. Then I'll concede this point. In the mean time, give the Colts a call and see what's up.
-
I would add LB as well. Lorenzo is near retirement, Humber's spot needs a big upgrade and P Brown is average on a good day. We also need to do something about the pass rush. I'm pretty sure Kyle will retire after this season. He knows he can't still play at a high level.

Cordy Glenn injured AGAIN.
GreggTX replied to Pine Barrens Mafia's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hold on a sec with that trade. Good OL are a rare commodity these days and we don't even know what the injury is yet. His performance slipped a lot, but has been getting better of late. He has played well before and probably can again. -
Report: Huge Problem Brewing between Irsay and Luck
GreggTX replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Like I've said before, their roster stinks and they could add a lot of talent with extra picks. I'm still not holding my breath, though. It sure would be nice! -
I like the price tag, a 3rd and a 7th. Well worth it, IMO. It usually doesn't take TT long to get used to someone new and KB is a HUGE target.

Opinion: Writing Is on the Wall - Cam Is Coming
GreggTX replied to Gugny's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I disagree. They will decide after the season and Taylor is playing well. Peterman may yet win the job or they draft the heir apparent. I think all of those things are more likely than Cam coming to Buffalo.
