I say we will not draft a QB round 1
GreggTX replied to mead107's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If the Colts or Giants try to take advantage of our need for a QB and ask too much, this could happen, but it's unlikely. I could see Mike White in the 3rd maybe??? Rudolph has a low ceiling according to what I've read. If Jackson is there at 12, I'm OK with it. I think think the Browns get Darnold and the Giants take Mayfield or Rosen. We really need to get to 3 or 4. -
What ya'll are getting with AJ

LMAO! Speaking for the left, we couldn't care less. -

I hope AJ is a pleasant surprise and might do well in a short passing scheme. I don't know where this strong arm talk is coming from, though. He isn't going to wow anyone with his arm strength or deep ball, but hopefully he can pick things up quickly. He also isn't going to do much running either. He's a lead foot lol. That's OK by me. Miami went undefeated with Bob Griese and he didn't have the strongest arm or footspeed either -- He made quick decisions and had good accuracy. If AJ can match that, he'll be solid. -
Additions you like to see from here on out?

I don't know why so many here are talking like Groy is a solid sterter. He's a backup caliber C. I hope Billy Price slips to the 3rd and we can grab him. Let Groy play until Price is ready. I'd love to see that happen. I don't agree about P Brown. A much better MLB would do wonders for our run defense. Tackles are a misleading stat. Brown is a below average MLB. -

We need an upgrade over O'Leary. He had a dismal season. Any help we can get at LB would be great. I don't know if we can get any help at C or RG, but that would be nice too. Also, DiMarco had a very disappointing season as well. A good FB could be headed our way. I also wouldn't be surprised if we used our lasr pick on a punter. Schmidt has been a liability of late. The return game could use a boost as well. Tate is not the worst, but I can't imagine that it would be all that hard to find a WR that would have a better chance of taking one back once in a while.OT is an obious need too. -
My guess is they will now get Darnold with the 1st pick. Darn! I was kinda hoping he'd be there at 3 for us.

Why Is No One Talking About Jay Cutler?

HAHAHAHAHA!!! -
Why not Andrew Luck? The Colts are in a great position.

1. They're drafting their QB. 2. See #1. -
Maybe next year, but not this year. We might even take a step back.

Opinion: Writing Is on the Wall - Cam Is Coming
GreggTX replied to Gugny's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Tolbert and Star L are the best Panthers? They both suck LOL! -
I think he stays as a backup. Star L is only very marginally better so if he got injured there wouldn't be any noticeable drop off with Washington taking his place. We will be getting very few sacks this year BTW. Washington is a much better pass rusher than SL, so our newest DT could be a 2-down guy. Yes Kyle's play has declined, but he's still far better than Star L. At least Kyle is average. SL and AW are backup caliber players.

Veteran QB: It all comes down to FOLES / MCCARRON!
GreggTX replied to IgotBILLStopay's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If we are trading up to #3 do we really need to pay a lot for a veteran QB? We might, but then again, we might play the rookie right away. McCarron wants to be a starter, not a well paid backup. Foles is not a FA and we'd probably have to give up a middle round pick to get him. No thanks. -
For depth? I don't want him in the starting lineup. He's not very good. Solid backup, though. I just hope we didn't pay him starter money.

Rosen or Mayfield

With the 12th Pick Bills select

I 'm guessing they want Rosen or Mayfield. -
Per ESPN Bills very likely to persue Dolphins SUH
GreggTX replied to 17 Josh Allen's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Our run D would improve a LOT with Suh in the middle. He commands a double team on pretty much every play. I'd LOVE it! He's not just good. Be honest he's still one of the best DT's in the NFL. Since Donald got moved to DE, who's better inside? Watt is a DE, technically. Suh and Norwell and draft a RT and DE to replace Shaq and we look solid in the trenches. -
PFF Best graded offensive lines in the NFL
GreggTX replied to Buffalo_Stampede's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I still think we need to upgrade at C and RT. I would love Norwell at RG too. I'm thinking Price could fall to us in rd 2 cuz of the muscle tear. Dawkins, Incognito, Price, Norwell and another RT. That would be a top 2 or 3 OL most likely. -
You make a valid point OP despite comments to the contrary, but I think we'll be trading away some of our picks to move up in the 1st round.

All I know is that I'll be glued to my TV for the first 2 days of this draft.

Sal about FA QB's For Bill's - Hint ?
GreggTX replied to Jamie Muellers Ghost's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He might be. He does have accuracy/footwork issues, but posesses everything else in spades. He sees the field well, has crazy speed and arm strength and good awareness in the pocket. If his innacuracy were above avg, he'd be excellent. I'm just worried about his arm. Can it be fixed or will be another EJ Manuel? -
Could Hughes be next? $10.4 mil cap
GreggTX replied to Reed83HOF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Our ONLY really good DL? Well if we want to completely suck on D and push Frazier to leave, OK. BTW, you can't just put all of our problems on Hughes who drew a lot of attention and played the run very well in 2017. He had almost NO help out there on the DL. Kyle was avg, Lawson was well below avg and the rest of our DT's are disgustingly bad. Let's try surrounding him with talent and see how it goes. If you want to trade underperformers, start with Shaq. -
Bradford has health issues, but we don't need him forever. Also, when healthy, he can be well above avg. Keenum will want a sizeable deal for several years, but if we draft a guy in the top 5 we eat a lot of dead money if that pick becomes the starter. Slim pickings for DL and OT help in FA? Poe is above avg, but the 2 former Jets have motivation issues and we all know how Beane feels about that, right Marcel? The departure of Glenn means both our OL and DL are in crisis mode. I'm tired of hearing the words "good enough" when talking about filling holes like C. Groy is a career backup for a reason. I think we can't worry about drafting skill players (pending FA moves) until our lines are fixed. I know Norwell is a long shot, but I really hope we can get him. Star L has playing like a backup. No thanks. One rookie I'd like to see is Dalton Schultz, but with all the deficiencies elsewhere, I don't see him as an option. Great blocker! I'd love to see an upgrade opposite T White, but EJ is a tick above avg, so resigning him may be our best option for the time being. After White, there's a big drop off in talent to Gaines and another big drop off again, depending on Davis' recovery. I don't know what we'll do about LB, but that's another very weak area as well. And now Beane and McD will go do exactly what no one expects LOL.
