  1. Lol so nfl execs are going to be manipulated into overdrafting a guy because they think the stalwarts in Drafting, the Browns, might like him...?
  2. Looks to me like the jets Checkmated the bills on getting mayfield or darnold. However, I guess there is a chance that if they really wanted darnold the bills could have tried to trade for 4 and then 2, allowing giants to still get sequan (seems unlikely on draft day though). oh well, we will likely never know how the bills had the qbs rated.
  3. I wish coach Bohl would have indicated that Allen could do some of the stuff Wetnz did (change protection, ect). My fear with Allen is not accuracy, I think he is a very accurate passer, it is football IQ. High completion percentage often have more to do with the intelligence to set up the play correctly and throw to the right person (things I think the Elite QB's do better than everyone else) and getting easy completions - this is where Allen will need to grow.
  4. its obvious they preferred Allen quite a bit more than Rosen. Not sure if they got "their guy" who may have been Mayfield or Darnold. In fact, Beane has never said they got "their #1 guy, which leads me to believe he was not the #1 QB on their board.
  5. I strongly believe Beane and Co likely had one (or both) of Baker and Darnold higher than Allen. However, it seems obvious to me that if they wanted Darnold badly, and felt he was miles ahead of Allen, they would have made a bold move up to 2. I also feel they feel they strongly preferred Allen to Rosen. If not, than they likely would have stayed pat until one of Allen or Rosen was taken, and then make a move, if necessary.
  6. While Allen was likely not our number 1, there are reports we tried to move up to 4 and had a deal in place for 5, so we do know that the bills liked Allen enough to try to move up as high as 4. Allen may not work out, but what I wanted was for our gm to be excited enough about a qb choice that we would make a move. Seems silly, but I’m much happier/more confident with Allen being drafted in a trade up and ahead of Rosen than I would have been if we just drafted Allen at 12 as the only “big 4” qb left.
  7. I have to believe that they had mayfield and/or darnold higher as you never heard beans say something along the lines of “we got our top rated qb”
  8. Seems like smoke, potentially to trick bills into thinking they don’t need to trade up to 2.
  9. While what Palmer says has truth, there are other guys in NFL draft history who had these factors affecting there completion percentage...and yet the good ones still completed passes at a higher clip.
  10. Strange question, but would rather pick Allen at 12 or trade up to get him (perhaps even above other top 4 QBs)? i know it’s strange, but I might be happier/more confident if we traded up to get him and got the sense that he was “our guy” and not just a potential obvious bust we got stuck with.
  11. Not to argue that we should have, but we could have tried to trade with someone like Tampa. Then trade up again to 3.
  12. pretty sure drew brees is like a 53 mph guy....
  13. Next years one could be top 10 or 5....I would give up 22 all day.
  14. I want to trade up badly to get our guy. My only concern is giving up the 2019 1st, would love love it to be 2020. I have a bad feeling we could be picking top 10 next year (perhaps even top 5) and don't want to lose that pick. Do NFL trades ever have protection on picks, i.e. if its top 10 then the pick is deferred until 2020?
  15. I think this trade has much less to do with their interest in Chubb and more about a bad contract/scheme fit in JPP. Not sure this affects us much, with the positive being perhaps we have a DE they have interest in, and the negative being perhaps they are less interested in our picks now and this could signal that they are not in complete win-now mode.
  16. correct, think everyone else has it the opposite way. We gave up our fifth and got their sixth.
  17. maybe glenn +21 + for 12?
  18. Duh? So was that video...so is nearly all evaluation of prospects.
  19. I did watch the video, that does not mean I agree with their assessment. Also, scouting is not really about what you were asked to do, but how well you could do. Just because you could argue Jackson was in an offense with the most relevant NFL components does not mean that Rosen/Darnold/Allen would not have been able to handle those components better than Jackson if asked.
  20. point taken. To me, it has nothing to do with race and everything to do with athleticism. It seems counter intuitive, but I get nervous when a QB is too athletic/fast (felt this way about Manziel). When a QB is so dangerous with his legs, he can be elite in HS and college without having to be extraordinary at reading defenses, having supreme accuracy, and anticipating throws and routes. However; These are the things that make consistent pro-bowl QB's. Guys like Tom Brady were never gonna win games with his feet, so from a very young age they had to be elite passers. If there was a QB who was a phenomenal athlete and had all these other qualities it would be a game changer ( some of the young guys in nfl could be that: Dak, Marriotta, Wilson, Watson maybe even Wentz). Maybe Jackson will be that, but who knows.
  21. I think the reality is neither team is very good. You seem to be pointing out that the bills aren't great, which most logical fans would agree with. What you fail to recognize (homer?) is that the Jags aren't great either. The Jags are, and should be the favorite, but I hardly see this game as less winnable then Bills at Chiefs, and we got a win there. While I think the Jags are more likley to win, your tremendous confidence is surely ill-advised given the team you are a fan of...
  22. 20% of the tickets would be 13,433 tickets....I think it is very reasonable that there is at least 5,000 Bills fans from Non-New York going (I am one, living in CA). Seems very reasonable to get to approximately 20k bills fans at the game. Your defensive attitude screams of insecurity.
  23. I might be a glutton for punishment, but I want Peterman to start. I think TT gives us a marginally better chance to win (from like 10% to 20%), but I know what he is and I know this team isn't going places with him as the starter (unless everything else on the team is elite, which it isn't). Could Peterman be the answer? Before last week, I would have said probably not; now I will say I very very much doubt it. However, I need more than one start against some very talented pass rushers to know for sure. What do we have to lose? If he bombs, at least I will feel confident this team will do everything it can to get a franchise QB in the draft.
  24. oh right...but he has been hot garbage for most his career.
