Well on the days I have been to camp he has been quicker with good reads.

I dont enjoy it but mostly for selfish reasons when they are away for it.

I go to around 3 away games per year.....the Meadowlands for the Jets is one I avoid. I have been to 5 games and I have left there smelling like old beer every time but once - the time I wore a green sweetshirt.

I agree on Rosen, however, Darnold will be a solid player for many years.

They have actually done more than that....they have signed multiple players on team friendly deals that IF they wish to get out of then the team wont be hamstrung going forward. It is smart management.

I have gone to St. John Fishers training camp for the last 15 or so years. There absolutely a smooth precise feeling about this one. I just dont see a lot of ineffective/inefficient stuff going on. In terms of this year vs last year...there seems to be much more individualized teaching going on. The coaches "seem" to be having fun while looking confident. However, it could just be the team has more competent/experienced players and the staff has had another year of continuity.

The glass half full version of this is IF punting sucks....McDermott will be more aggressive on 3rd and 4th downs :).

I dont recall any snark from him in past write ups. Typically Astro writes from a birdseye view of what is happening sprinkled in with a few corny side bars. His first two reports read (to me anyhow) more of a negative side (ie "entitled kids" or "Moral: If you suck, just make sure you at least stand out"). Anyhow....go Bills!!

Yeah - it was an interesting watch. Homerism or not....it is refreshing to hear someone who works closely with other QBs (especially Darnold) really hype up Allen. The season can not get here fast enough!!

My most obscure coach (and most embarrassing moment) was meeting John Ray. He was a defensive coach back in the mid 70s under Saban. He was at a diner with a Bill's shirt on. I met up with him in the bathroom and I asked him if he was a big fan of the team...he said yes with a big grin. We chatted for a minute. I saw him a few weeks later at Niagara University coaching the defense. Yeah... I felt like like an idiot not knowing who he was.
