  1. I don't need to justify my life or why I live where I do to you. You are clearly an arrogant and ignorant human being who lacks any sort of empathy when people have a different party affiliation because you're too busy being a party line hack. Back to the point of my post before your senseless garbage. Trump is fully responsible, along with Fox News for calling for and then creating this shutdown. When Trump renigged on the initial deal - congressional Republicans were shocked. They were told he'd sign. We could debate the wall and how to best secure the border and we could debate what the budget should be but there is no debating that this shutdown isn't 100% the chosen leverage Trump is using to try and get his wall, period.
  2. What an arrogant and ignorant thing to say. 80% of all Americans live paycheck to paycheck. It's not easy to "prepare" for this. Correct - right now we are not considered "essential" but do you even understand what that means? It's terminology. It doesn't mean our jobs aren't both important and necessary. Essential employees typically just work in departments with strict statutes. Meaning if things are not completed by the statute the government has a major problem. Once a statute is blown there is no catching up on it later. It doesn't help either that Long Island has either the first or 2nd highest cost of living in the country.
  3. A lot to comment on here from this thread: 1. 70% Tax - This is a marginal tax rate which will only impact earnings over 10 million. If you don't make $10 million plus per year you will not be taxed this high. Also all 10 million is not taxed at 70%. Say you made 12 million in 2019. Only 2 million of that would be subject to the 70% marginal tax rate. This is how things were in the 50s, 60s and 70s before Reagan messed it up. These periods were considered times of great prosperity. Since this was changed, income inequality in this country has gotten insanely out of hand as now the top not even 1% but 0.1% earns 90% of all new income in this country. Put it this way - our parents used to be able to support their families comfortably by having only 1 parent work 1 full time job. The mothers/wives were typically expected and able to upkeep the home and care for the children. Nowadays though we can't afford to do that. Now both parents must work full time jobs to live paycheck to paycheck while our kids are raised at daycares. It all boils down to a rigged economy due to money in politics resulting in legislation that favors those who lobby - the rich. Call it Socialism because that's the GOP scare tactic but it's a mixed economy. 2. Sexism - lots of big strong men in here think they are all cool and bad ass awesome trying to invalidate her ideas based on her appearance and resorting to sexual jokes and comments. I read these comments and can't help but cringe at how pathetic it all is. SAD! I got more but I'll stop here. I've found that talking and giving facts doesn't help anymore. People don't care about facts. People now root for their political parties much like we as Bills fans root for the Bills and so words, facts, morals, and even your own quality of living doesn't matter to you - you'd rather root, root, root for the home team.
  4. My wife and I are both federal employees. We have no idea when this shutdown will end and we are already struggling to figure out how to pay our bills. Between the 2 of us we have a good 50 applications out for work while the government is shutdown but my guess is nobody is calling because they don't want to hire someone to probably just lose them once the government opens back up. Retroactive pay is great but it doesn't pay the bills now. For the record - anyone who blames this shutdown on anyone other than Donald Trump is living in an alternative universe. Republicans in the Senate have passed multiple bills that would reopen the government. Trump won't sign them! The house has sent 6 passed bills over to the Senate but McConnell isn't taking those to the floor even though the Senate has the votes because - Trump won't sign them! Before the new members of Congress flipped the house the house and Senate agreed on a bill to fund the government and Trump informed them he would sign the bill until every Fox News pundit said it was a weak move that would destroy his Presidency and called for him to shut down the government. Trump then renigged on the deal and refused to sign! Trump himself in that infamous meeting with Pelosi and Schumer said he would shutdown the government and take the blame. To recap - Republican and Democrats in the house and Senate have the votes. They just don't have Trump. This is the Fox News / Trump shutdown. Whether you think a wall is a good idea or not is irrelevant.
  5. Wow, what a drive by the offense. Allen and the OL executed. Benjamin actually made a play and I loved the play calling from Daboll - especially how he used motions to set plays up leading to that final jet sweep. Brilliant.
  6. I like McDermott. I don’t like our QB, WR or our OL play.
  7. My feelings on Peterman are most accurately reflected by my trolling of him on non-related FB posts LOL
  8. Idk what the stats say but my eyes are telling me he’s open a lot and he’s catching the football. He looks much improved and I think he has a future in the league. He could develop into a solid WR2 and there is some hope he could become a WR1 if he has the right QB and system.
  9. I’ll tell you this much. I’m a die hard bills fan but I’ve got my armor on. I’m fully prepared to laugh my ass off when Peterman throws another pick six just as I’m fully prepared for elation and joy if we shock everyone and kick ass.
  10. Dammit you were way too quick. I thought better of being political and tried to delete. Can u delete your reply quoting me?
  11. Allen may miss the throw but he definitely sees that. Pretty sure that was the first read.
  12. Why can’t we find ways to get McCoy out in routes isolated against linebackers how the Pats do with White or how the Skins do with Thompson? Lots of other examples out there too...
  13. Refs have decided in their heads who the better team is and will continue to give Houston calls all game. Hopkins pushing on whites face but no it’s defensive holding on third and very long.
  14. Hopefully it doesn’t become an issue but I feel like Ryan Lewis should have been made active.
  15. The extra picks are a 4th, a 5th and a 7th. Nothing super exciting there. Extra ammo to move up if need be. Maybe some good depth or a Taron Johnson like steal.
  16. Trent is wrong and he is the one who said exactly why he’s wrong when he said that Josh is strong both physically & mentally. Josh doesn’t seem like the type of kid who, if he doesn’t have instant success will lose confidence and be permanently ruined. He’s tough. He can handle failure. Next.
  17. The good news is Allen’s issues are easily fixed. Step up rookie don’t run out of the pocket every time or backwards.
  18. Defensive play calling is terrible. Completely out coached thus far on that side of the ball. Rodgers has all day to throw. Trent Murphy doesn’t looks like he can cut sharply to his right. Injury? He looks like he’s playing on ice with those wide deep loops way behind Rodgers. A lot of 2 deep safety looks. Bills are afraid to bring pressure.
  19. We can’t keep isolating Milano on a WR who converted to RB on passing downs. Clear mismatch. We also screwed the pooch on 3rd and 1 not sneaking it.
  20. I’m just sitting back here right now trusting the process ???
  21. Benjamin is trash. What a read and delivery by Allen.
  22. Allen’s footwork was terrible on a lot of his throws. I think the excitement of his first start saw him revert back to the pre-draft process Josh Allen we saw in college. He was certainly a lot more accurate in some of his pre-season showings. Hopefully he can can fix it. One other thing I noticed which was a bit discouraging was I noticed Josh on multiple plays checking his wristband to look at the play well after breaking the huddle as if he was double checking to make sure he knew the play right. Is he having trouble learning the playbook or is this just an example of first game jitters and the lacking of confidence that often accompanies inexperience?
