It comes down to excitement. Fitz actually had some good passing offenses. Tyrod never did. We had some good running offenses under Tyrod, but that's it. Tyrod was also more frustrating to watch because he never took risks and held onto the ball. Fitz was a gunslinger and took lots of risks, sometimes getting big rewards and sometimes getting picked off. Tyrod kind of had a flat, low-key personality. Fitz was funny, smart, and humble, and he rallied the troops well. BUT, Tyrod was the more successful Bills QB overall and he is underrated. Fitz is liked as a person and leader more than as an actual player. Most fans realize he wasn't a good enough QB to win with because of his physical limitations and taking too many risks. It was time to move on from both of them.

Gruden tears into Nate Peterman [language]

Those starts need context. 1st start was bad, obviously. But he started only because Tyrod was so terrible the week before, throwing for only 56 yards and an INT. 2nd start was the snow game. He started because Tyrod was injured. He threw 1 TD, no INT's and had a rating of 100.8 before leaving injured. 3rd start was Baltimore the next year. That was a bad one. He started because they wanted Allen to sit and learn more, which is a common thing to do with rookie QB's. Peterman also outperformed all the other QB's in preseason, including McCarron who they traded for a draft pick. 4th start was due to an Allen injury. It's not like they chose to keep throwing him in there for no reason. He started because of injuries to starters and lack of better options on the team. And then they cut him and were forced to start QB's off the street. I see the argument for cutting him after the Baltimore game for sure, but it was kind of a throwaway year anyway with the team fixing the cap and starting a rookie QB, not to mention the complete lack of talent on the roster anyway. Not arguing that Peterman was good. He wasn't. He was terrible. -

It's pretty easy. They didn't condemn him for one bad half of football. He showed promise in camps and preseason so they gave him another shot. And he failed again. -

Hard to condemn a guy after one game, though. And you never know until you do. Fans use a lot of hindsight when thinking back on Peterman. Ultimately things worked out and Peterman is gone. Coaches and organizations make mistakes and have to move on from them. If anything, it was a valuable learning experience for McDermott and Beane. Hopefully it taught them that you can't always trust your eyes based on practice or preseason. I personally can't remember such a Jekyll and Hyde player such as Peterman. Guy looked good when it didn't matter and then completely changed with live bullets. -
CBS power rankings..Cowboys 4th, Bills 26th?

Yeah. Add a couple more losses than we expected. No way we beat the Chiefs without our marking department firing on all cylinders! -

Haven't looked at the numbers but I bet we have one of the lowest percentage of screen passes in the league from last year. -

Yeah, and we have a couple backs now who can catch it and make some guys miss. Also, let's run some screen passes to them and Diggs. We seem to have an aversion to screens. -

I actually wish he would check it down a little more! -
He's the same guy who put dirty hits on Josh Allen too. He's one of the biggest scum bags in the NFL. Seems only Bills fans have caught on to that, though.

All accounts are that the Bills have looked really good, well prepared, and firing on all cylinders in training camp. What has been bad about it? -

Haha, wow. They are going to look pretty foolish. -
Just make sure your boy Darnold doesn't infect Allen with whatever disease he has this year.

I legitimately forgot Gore was there.

Barkley ranked 23rd best backup by PFF
MJS replied to BillsMafi$'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Where do the QB rankings rank Josh Allen? Similarly low, but it is clear the team and most fans value him more than the outsiders. -
Schopp comes across (to me, at least) as someone who is only mildly interested in football, and even then more interested in betting and fantasy aspects of the game. And his hour long tangents about random crap really annoy me. More evidence that he doesn't really care about the Bills or the game because he can't stand talking about them for more than 5 minutes.

No reason not to do both.
-
Kamara was a 3rd round pick too and somewhat of a surprise when he broke out as a player. No reason Singletary and / or Moss can't break out as well, although neither of them have elite speed.
-
Just did a fantasy draft and got Singletary, Diggs, and Josh Allen all well below their ADP. I'm expecting Singletary to be a good RB2 this year. I have Kamara as my RB1. Also picked up Leveon Bell way below his ADP, but that's more of a risky pick. Yeah, Allen takes a lot of goal line touches from the running backs, and Moss should get some too, but Singletary will likely be used more in the passing game and will be valuable in PPR leagues, I'd bet.

Barkley ranked 23rd best backup by PFF
MJS replied to BillsMafi$'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They aren't capable of being right about it because there is no way to verify it. It is just as easily a fact that they are fine with Barkley as a backup and value him more than random message board fans. There's no indication that they think Barkley is bad and that they don't want to bring in a better QB because it will pressure Josh. That is just fan speculation. So no, they aren't right. And believing that is silly, in my opinion. -
Just go for his knees on every block. It isn't against the rules in most situations.
-
Based on what?
-
He has a big leg. Maybe they think they can help him get more consistent, and I'm assuming he performed better than the punters they brought in to compete.
