The Bills were able to put a ton of pressure on Fitzpatrick. Fitz was throwing just before or as he was getting hit time after time, especially in the second half. He was fearless and made great throws in the face of pressure. If we can get that kind of pressure on Goff, he will NOT be able to do the same thing. He has been atrocious in his career while under pressure. Like, night and day different. He also isn't go to hurt you by scrambling it, or at least not to the extent that Fitzpatrick can. I think getting pressure on Goff is going to be the key and that's how we overcome one or both of our linebackers being out. But if not, Goff has the physical skills to put up yards and points.

Vikings fans already bemoaning the trade
MJS replied to Thunderstruck's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Just the way I like it. -
Good for him. Hope he keeps getting experience.

I agree. Seemed like measured, accurate takes to me. If I was a Rams fan I would pick them to win too. But as a Bills fan I'm picking my team, especially since it is a home game. These teams are fairly evenly matched on paper. Both fan bases should expect it to be a tough game.

Wow. I would have thought more teams would be running that occasionally.

Not expecting to see Edmunds or Milano this week
MJS replied to Rubes's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think that's dumb. Every game is absolutely crucial. They'll play if they are healthy, if not they won't. Simple as that. My guess is Edmunds will play and Milano won't. They don't like to rush guys back from hamstring injuries. -
Wow. PFF sure outlines how good Allen is when they are using actual data, but when they make up their own they grade him poorly. How is it that he is first in all those categories, has an AMAZING QB rating, hasn't thrown an INT, leads the league in passing, has 70% completion percentage, yet ... grades out worse than Sam Darnold!? They have a serious issue with their system and it's about time they realize it and fix it. Is it just that they have the same guy grade the Bills every week and that one guy just grades things lower than his colleagues?

Move Dodson into the starting LB's?
MJS replied to John from Riverside's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah, Klein is in no way a starter. Not sure what people are talking about. And I think Dodson is getting too much praise. I think people's expectations were very low and he easily exceeded them. But he stunk in coverage and played decently in the run game and screen game. That's fine, I know he's young and inexperienced, but people are acting like he played a great game. He didn't. He showed he can be a decent depth linebacker. I sure hope he doesn't have to start anymore. Does anyone think Gesicki would have gone off like that if we had Milano helping out in coverage and Edmunds in the middle of the field? I think no. Gesicki probably would have still done well (he seems to play well against the Bills), but not to such an extent. He hasn't actually missed too many games though. I was surprised to see that this was only his 5th missed game. He missed 1 last year and 3 in 2018. He played in all 16 games his rookie year. -
Goff is Goff. He is capable of having good games and putting up stats, but he is not a gamer and can't put the team on his back when needed. He needs playmakers to make plays for him. I'll take Allen over Goff. But this game seems pretty evenly matched to me. I'd feel a lot better if I knew Edmunds and Milano will be back. My bet is Edmunds will play but Milano will not. And obviously our offensive line has not been tested by an effective pass rush. They'll get one of the best pass rushers in the league to deal with this week. He could wreck this game. I'll take the Bills to win it 21-20. The difference will ultimately be who had to travel and who didn't.

Anthony Lynn: Backs Tyrod as Starter
MJS replied to BullBuchanan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No you don't. Tyrod is a career backup and bridge QB. Literally nobody would think twice about benching him for a first round rookie. -
Well therin lies the problem. PFF grades have NOTHING to do with data. They make the data up. They look at a play and assign a number to it. It's not actually data. I am a data guy too, and my job is in data analysis. What PFF does is something completely different. They have some interesting insight sometimes, but they really screw up the QB position and have some deep flaws. Russel Wilson didn't receive high grades from his performance? Their version of reality does not mesh with what we see on Sundays.

Oh my gosh. Allen LITERALLY DID have that kind of game. What are these "analysts" talking about? That's the most dominant performance from a Bills QB we have seen in decades.

Daboll's lack of designed runs for Allen this week...
MJS replied to LabattBlue's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's a big, giant guess. -
You are batting .500
-
Behind Darnold? That's seriously a problem with their system. Jets fans are already wanting to move on from Darnold and tank the season. Bills fans are on cloud 9.

Allen has shown he can spread the ball around. 8 different receivers in both games so far.

New England Is Still The Team To Beat in AFC East (For Now)
MJS replied to Like A Mofo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Actually the Bills are the team to beat. They are 2-0 and the Pats are 1-1. -
Daboll's lack of designed runs for Allen this week...
MJS replied to LabattBlue's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
QB's are injured far less on designed runs (injuries per plays called) than on sacks, scrambles, and knockdowns. It's like 1 in every 200 plays called. Sacks and scrambles are like 1 in 90. Knockdowns are like 1 in 70. So actually the safest thing a QB can do is a designed run. But yeah, turnovers are bad.
