I'll just add that white people used to get lynched as well. It happened to a lot of people back then, sometimes because they were criminals. I'm not excusing the practice or that it happened out of racism to black people. That is also a fact. I just wanted to bring proper historical context that lynching was commonly done back then to a lot of different groups for a variety or reasons. Over time, in the late 1800s, it began to be used as a tool of racism specifically targeting blacks, but even then it still happened to white people. The noose itself isn't from the practice of lynching, though. It comes from public executions by way of hanging which has been going on for a long, long time and is not a racial thing.

It's a little odd. A song about a girl cheating on a guy. But whatever.

Without Sammy Watkins or Robert Woods, plus a number of other departures. They unloaded a lot of talent to the point they were accused nationally of tanking. Regardless, though, I was joking. Dennison wasn't a good coordinator, which is why he got fired after one season.
-
It doesn't appear that they used a noose.
-
I was joking. I agree that Dorsey was not a bad coordinator, but I think he was not the best fit with Allen.
-
Yeah, Dennison got handed a poor deck of cards and he didn't even get fired mid-season like Dorsey, so maybe he should rank ahead of Dorsey!

Teams usually make it easier on young QBs, though. They aren't always asking their young QB to do what Josh Allen is doing. They scheme things up. They give them simple reads that take away half the field. They use motion and simple rules to identify things. They are given the opportunity to progress and master the mental side of the game until they are able to process more complex things like what Josh Allen and other franchise QBs do on plays like that. That's why dumb QBs like Ryan Tannehill can have some success. Their coaches do all the thinking for them and they heavily scheme and design plays to make it simple for their QB. everything Ryan Tennehill ever did in the NFL was heavily manufactured for him. And he had the athleticism to scramble when things broke down and required him to actually think. He could never step into the Bills offense and run it with any level of success.

Because they wanted the defensive backs covering the hail mary. I think you are reading too much into that one play. They dropped some guys toward the sidelines just in case the Jets wanted a cheap completion. Coleman could have been on the field, sure. But it is pretty common for defenses to defend the hail mary with just defenders, not with offensive players. Sometimes you get beat. Sometimes the other team makes a play. The play call was not a dumb as you are saying. You may not agree with it, but it doesn't mean they didn't have their reasons. They were trying to account for all the possibilities.
-
Fans might not agree, but they were also defending the sidelines for the possibility that they would complete one and then kick a field goal. That was a possibility, despite what fans say. If the Bills went all in on the hail mary and the Jets completed an easy one and got out of bounds and kicked a field goal, fans would be moaning about that as well. It's just how it is sometimes. Cover 1 broke that play down and came to the same conclusion. Anyway, we can agree to disagree. Regardless of who is to blame, they have to figure it out in the playoffs and get it done.

They keep showing it everywhere, so probably 20 by now. It is awesome every time.

That's not true. McDermott haters complain about McDermott being conservative, wanting to run the ball too much, and playing prevent defense ALL the time. They are wrong about those things. They make these assumptions because he is a defensive coach and that is the perception of defensive coaches. All the other stuff you said about the defense not playing well in elimination games is certainly valid. That is criticism worth talking about. Injuries on the defense is a big part of it. Poor execution by the players. And yes, coaching. Those things all need to improve in the playoffs.

He's wrong, plain and simple. Spotrac lists Benford's value at $18 million per year. They don't have a value for Bernard yet because he isn't a free agent till 2026, but he'll be valued highly. But thanks for sharing.
-
He'd be first round for sure, along with Benford. There aren't 32 players in that draft better than them.
-
I took it to mean a sign of respect at first. Clapping like, "Well done. You beat us fair and square." But then I thought he could have meant it to mock like, "Good job. You beat us again in the regular season. We'll beat you in the playoffs like we always do." Only Kelce knows which of those he intended.

I don't watch college and I don't do the pre-draft work that some do, so I really have no idea about any of the drafted players outside of the odd highlight video or reading the analysis of others. I am always amazed by the certainty that some post about draft picks.

It's really funny how much hate he got for the best WR in the game of football making an acrobatic, insane catch on him when he was in tight coverage. Fans can be fickle.

Woody Johnson suggested benching Rodgers in September
MJS replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think, like this, those things are all just rumors and assumptions. Who knows if any of this is actually true? There is a lot of speculation being thrown around. Rex got too lazy and too married to his scheme, which the rest of the league caught up to. I seriously doubt his ability to be a head coach any more, and his ability to be flexible enough to change things as the league evolves. His time with Buffalo really showed that. He clearly did not work hard here. -
turns out America likes watching Allen-Mahomes games
MJS replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall
I agree that they are the best right now. But I don't think they have risen to Manning vs Brady levels yet. Yeah, I agree that Manning had to win a superbowl for the matchup to really rise to the level that it did. Just like I think Allen has to do the same thing. -

Man, 90s football was amazing. And the 2000s era was great as well. I don't think the current era is as good, but at least we have Allen and Mahomes. They will go down as all time greats. I think there are a lot more good QBs today, but fewer of those slam dunk great QBs. -

Because I think Brady vs Manning had more mystique and draw at the time than Allen vs Mahomes currently does. Allen still has a lot of doubters. If he wins a superbowl, there will be no more doubters and the Allen vs Mahomes games will have risen to the same level as Brady vs Manning. From a national perspective. That's my opinion. -
Why is McD not being talked about as coach of the year?
MJS replied to Antonio's topic in The Stadium Wall
He should have won it in 2017, taking that bad roster to the playoffs and breaking the longest active playoff drought streak in pro sports at the time. He should have won it again in 2020. He should win it again this year, because everyone nationally was down on the Bills and believed they would be taking a step back and not even winning the division. But he won't. Again. Because that award never goes to the best teams. It just goes to the teams who everyone thought would suck, who do better than expectations. -

They decide coach of the year before the Superbowl, don't they? I thought it was decided before the playoffs like all of the other awards. -

I don't think Allen vs Mahomes has quite risen to the level of Brady vs Manning, but it is certainly on the way. If Allen wins a superbowl, it will get there for sure. But for the current NFL, Allen vs Mahomes is the best matchup to watch and it isn't even close. And after last week, it got even bigger. That was a darn good game to watch. If they face each other again in the playoffs this year, that game will break all the records. -
Those hoodlums probably deserved it!
