Even if they largely used a rookie QB? -
That makes no sense. Black lives matter has nothing to do with money; it's about the idea that police may shoot blacks too freely. If one wants to upset about the 1% wealth disparity in this country black and brown or NFL players are hardly the place to stick the blame. Maybe blame your elected federal officials instead? Just an idea.

Buffalo. We're such illogical fans sometimes. 2018 is rebuild. All of those draft picks, maybe a rookie qb, a new OC - it's not about 2018 but about hopes for 2020-2026 as I see it. I have no idea how many wins to expect as there's too much unknown - same as for everyone. I just hope for maybe a second year in a row in which the draft is not the highpoint of the season for us fans and so excitement for 2019 this time 12 months from now. -
Kaep. Never understood why people care so about kneeling. It's football not politics for me; if I want to think politics I'll tune to CNN.

Tyrod is a very solid backup. Tyrod could win as a starter if in a very good team which is carried by defense with his lack of turnovers to make for the +16 turnover ratio we saw early this season when our D was performing well. Tyrod is not the only problem, of course. Our eligible receivers cannot catch passes directly to them. Peterman saw the same thing which perfect passes bouncing off the guys. Then there's the O line - which Peterman also enjoyed in his first outing. And the OC who did not bother to play to his players talents which showed most obviously with tyrod and tolbert. Plenty of blame to go around. Tyrod I expect will be the starter next season which a fresh round 1 qb draft watching and practicing. I'm fine with that. No need to rush the kid in and ruin his career. Give him a year to grow and the team a second year's draft to further shore up the OL and get or teach guys who can catch the balls he throws well enough. 2018 is not our year - but it should be one year closer to our year and hopefully a preview of who some of the studs will be when that year arrives. Until then - the Yankees are a very young offense and likely showing the studs who will win their next so I'm focusing on that and the bills draft; and hoping to hell the NFC can manage to win the SB this year!

Bills' Fan Creates GoFundMe Page to Have Tolbert Cut

Mike cannot catch a pass - they need to stop throwing to him. Williams looked good in pre season. Whole thing is a mystery. Anyone have an update on cadet's leg? Hope it was not as bad as it looked - which was very bad. -
A team with a great defense and looking for a QB who won't lose the game on ya would do well with him.

12-11: McDermott and Coordinator Pressers

Also agree. Well stated. Hardtruth - you thought this was to be our year?! We just suffered two years of Ryan clowns and went into the season with the worst WR corps maybe ever plus a QB controversy involving only one QB! Ha. This year has been very promising save for that half a game when N8 imploded by refusing to be sacked. Much to do yet but the culture has changed, many of the ass clowns are already gone and we have tons of picks coming up. Will next year be our year?? Nope. But maybe three years from now if they keep up the progress and perform well in the draft. -
Anyone concerned about the wr talent?
sleeby replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
WR is a team in need of upgrades. Tyrod and OC aside, Nathan p threw several fine passes (not all to WRs though) that were not caught. I say draft one and FA another if able. Assuming a rookie qb next season pairing him with one rookie wr would be fine. The best EJ ever looked was his first games when he and woods were having a rookie bond connection going. -
PTI: 1 game suspension NOT enough
sleeby replied to CanadianFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Fit the entire bills defense with metal clubs on their arms and go to town all day long. Make Brady a priority. -
In addition to a suspension he should also not be allowed to wear that arm brace thing in games. He is very clearly not concerned about his arm being fragile else he would not have slammed it into a helmet as hard as he could and with all his weight. Else, I say, let's get all bills linemen and all defense secondary fitted up with them in time for the next NE game!

Other than maybe SI I don't see anyone here advocating what you're putting down here. We want great! But as we saw last week - and in previous times over the last 20 years - drafting a high ceiling qb kid, calling him the magic bullet and throwing him out there behind a porous Oline and medicore receivers and less than average play calling is not a likely winning recipie. We should certainly get a qb with our first pick but that's not the same as saying dumping TT now is a step in the right direction.
-
Is, say, joe flacco so much better than tyrod? Tyrod has a great deep ball with no one to throw it to, he great at not turning the ball over and great at avoiding sacks. Those last two are with half of an O line as we saw N8 P suffer through last week. Tyrod cannot be brady as his short passes are not consistent. Brady cannot be tyrod either though - and don't slame me for comparing them as I am not comparing them but rather showing how incomparable their styles are. We started the season strong with, initially perhaps, the worst reciving corps we have ever fielded. We did so well largely due to the turnover differential which was due to both defense and offense - and back to the half an o line and the weak receivers early on big kudos to two people on offense in particualar - TT and shady. Is TT great? No. But he's a servicable QB who, with a great defense and a little help on offense (such as the recent wr additions) can get us places. More than one way to win after all but ya gotta understand what you have and play that up. TT's career record is not fair either. Rex ryan and his idiot brother ruined our defense something fierce. Last year our offnese average about 27 points per game I think. They were not to blame for most of those losses. We should get the veey best QB we can in the draft and then ease him in as appropriate. How many young QB careers have we destroyed here already? I like TT as the guy until we are actually ready to give a good kid a great chance.

Nate Peterman's performance against the Chargers

I would prefer to end this season with 5 wins than get to and lose a WC game just to end a crappy streak. This year was never what it was about. -

People here sure seem fickle. Three losses (this one a failed attempt to throw a rookie into the fire and last wee against a much better team right now) and so many here are just hating on everything. This is buffalo. I sure hope you guys remember how to drive in snow and and ice better than you remember how to take a few losses. This was never meant to be our year. Not even close. Come to grips. If the bills are ever to field a great team again it will not happen overnight from here AND it would never have happened with the ryan boys. We rid the ryan cancer and now need to rebuild our strength in most every area. -

Tyrod may well be our starter next season even if we draft a qb first round. I see no need to hate on him nor rush another kid before his time. N8 Peterman is another young QB who likely saw his career killed in buffalo right off. What i was hoping for this season was for two watkins type receivers to compliment tyrod's skillset. Two very fast, deep WRs running long long routes all day cannot be double covered and tyrod has a great deep ball in place of his laxk of shorter throws. That should also open up the opposing defense and help shady get some good stats as well. I say keep tyrod for another season as we develope a young QB . draft a QB first and then maybe a WR or OL. So many needs right now though. -
This thread is pure Buffalo. Lol. Such pride and self definition in our perennial failures. In the voice of a drunken bills fan "You don't know what pain is! We own the pain! It's ours - all ours. Nobody knows the agony of defeat the way we do. So back the eff off; unless yer a jets fan and then maybe. . .ha no - you eff off too butt fumble!" Ya know how much we hate dallas - superbowls and no goal? They do not even know we hate them. When I meet people from dallas for work I warn em to keep cool on the dallas stuff around here. They have no idea. Ha. -bills fan since Ferguson. Remember Electric company but was too young to really follow. Anyhow, my creds for picking on us is all.
