That's not a strawman. 2017 was not a playoff year outside of semantics. They were moving on from tyrod amd it was a rebuild; they tested the telent pool. Power of hindsight - use it.

I did not change much. Went from realistic about this season over the off season (6-7 wins) to pessimistic for this season (4-5 wins). The oline and defense caused that mostly. RB we improved on since last year. Maybe QB but way too soon to say that beyond fan speak. Going to be interesting to watch for sure. Last year we had a great D in weeks 1-4 and a record pace turnover ratio. They sucked in the middle of the season and then got good again. Seeing what the buffalo D looks like on Sunday is maybe as big a question to me as passing game. Beyond this season - high hopes. Cap space and likely decent draft spots and two young QBs developing. We'll see a playoff win within three seasons I'd bet and hopefully upward from there.

He shouldn't panic - this is not our year anyhow. Just grow and learn and meld like a good stew's leftovers.

You mean the second half he had last against a non starter defense? All three of our QBs have looked good in the second half and all three bad in the first. Likely our o-line vs a starting defense in large part. Start anyone but JA in weeks 1-4 and thru decide from there. Our o-line is criminal negligence. We are unlikely to win those games regardless of qb so don't risk the kid until we better know what the o-line can rise up to.

Bring him back! Chain him up to a weight bench with nothing light enough to throw within reach. Unleash him on the opposing defenses after a lot of propaganda as to how much of a dangerous animal he is. Let them fear. Maybe smash up his car and leave logos for next week's team on it framing their fans as the culprits. Think fast times at ridgemont high. We can make this work! Prove me wrong. /S

This is to most all of you guys - last year you all wanted the playoff drought ended more than you wanted a rebuild amd now you are griping about the hangover. You wanted the playoff chance AND the QB - you got em. But it cost dearly. This is not our year either. I'm not in favor of purposely tanking but I also do not want to win 8 or 9 feckless games yet again. I say we play to grow and learn and develop and not to win games. Not sure exactly what that looks like but there it is. Always forward; never straight. 8-8 perenially is death - as we should well know by now.

This team is not going to the playoffs though. Just sayin. Develop.

Why did they go 17 years? Mediocrity. 8-8 and thereabouts, perenially, is death. What did we do last year? The same but with a lot of luck broke the streak is all. 2018 bills are not a playoff team. Screw wins - train and grow and if that means 3-13 then so be it. Start Peterman but do play JA plenty as well when blowouts.
