One small-to-medium outbreak, where 5-10 starting players on a given team all test positive and would all need to miss 3 weeks or something would probably end the season, especially if it includes a high profile QB.
Father of a little league teammate of mine, EVERY time anyone on our team stepped in the batters box, he'd yell, "Bend the bat!." I remember it because that kid was on my team for 3 years. "Bend the bat!"
Robot football.
Each team makes their own style with special features (like spinning saws out the legs, or steel daggers all over) and similar paint jobs for "uniforms",
and then hire a bunch of nerdy fans to control each of the robot players 11 x 11.
Maybe players should purposely catch covid now, so they don't during the season.
Probably not a medically sound idea, but I would consider it.
Like when we were young and our parents made us go play with the kid who had chicken pox.
