  1. I would assume they felt he was a steal in the 5th round especially since many experts thought he could be as high a 2nd round pick. The only thing I'm looking forward to this season is getting a chance to see him play but since we are probably drafting a QB high in the draft next year Peteman might not have much of a chance in Buffalo unless he lights it up this season.
  2. I doubt it especially with Trevor Simian looking like the 2nd coming of Tom Brady. They looked great against a Cowboys team that is legit SB contender.
  3. Assuming the defense continues to play well and the offense is jekyll and hyde what games do we really have a shot at? As of right now I have a hard time seeing us beating the Broncos and we aren't beating the Falcons on the road so that moves us to 1-3. I think Cincy is one of the few road games we have a chance of winning but they have already dumped their OC and might bench Dalton soon which could give their offense a boost by our game with them. Can't see us beating the Raiders at home and still not sure about the bucs but I believe they are probably legit because of their QB. At the Jets? Probably. Saints also might be winnable because they don't have a defense. Dolphins wont at the Chargers with Jay Cutler and they can't seem to win any close games. At Chiefs? Nope. Patriots twice, no chance. Not sure what to make of Dolphins yet but best case would be a split. Colts maybe a win. Bottom line, I still think 5 or 6 wins is best case even if we upset a few teams.
  4. I'm not checking out, but I'm 99.9% convinced this is going to be a 5 or 6 win team this year which is what most experts and realistic fans expected. If the defense stays healthy they'll keep us in games but we have no chance with a pop gun offense with no QB or vertical passing game.
  5. I agree it was a questionable trade up, should have gotten more picks. And not drafting Mahomes and letting the Chiefs draft him might prove to be another massive failure on the Bills part if they don't find their own QB.
  6. I'm glad we dumped Watkins but this team was foolish to not add some sort of vertical threat to the passing game instead of stockpiling slot receivers.
  7. John Dorsey has built a hell of a team down in KC and Alex Smith is everything Taylor isn't. Their 1st round pick will certainly be near the bottom of the 1st round.
  8. It's not all on Dennison (although I think he's not a good OC). This oline is terrible with pass blocking and this is probably the worst WR depth chart this team has had in the last 10+ years. Also the QB situation with Taylor speaks for itself.
  9. It's all speculation regardless but even most 1st round rookie QB's on a terrible day post Taylor type of numbers (100 passing yards). Taylor needs to be a short leash going forward or this season will spiral out of control quickly with the Broncos and Falcons on deck.
  10. Assuming the Dolphins continue to look like hot trash in San Diego. But not to make fans more depressed, lost in today's latest debacle was the Patriots dominating the Saints in New Orleans with Tom Brady posting massive numbers and having one of his best days ever going for almost 450 passing yards. So sick and tired of not having a real QB to watch on this team.
  11. Just my opinion of course but for me today confirmed this isn't a playoff team so no sense in debating it. AFC West is sending at least 2 teams to the playoffs between the division winner and one WC. And based on what I've seen wouldn't be surprised if both WC's come out of there. Beating Denver next week would certainly keep any faint hopes alive for another week but don't see it happening against another ridiculous defense matched up against Tyrod Taylor.
  12. Peterman at least gives this offense a chance to be more than a one dimensional rushing team. We all know this offense is pretty good when they can run the football and the passing lanes open up for Taylor. Problem is you can't sustain a 16 game season with this type of offense and we are certainly going to see more games like today given some of the defenses and teams left on the schedule, some with vastly superior QB's as well.
  13. Still too early to know, let's see what they do against Brady and some of the other elite QB's well be playing in the coming weeks. Impressive so far against McNown and Newton (who obviously is still not healthy) but we will be facing much better. Rushing defense has been rock solid and I still think the LB's are a major liability in coverage and that will be exposed soon enough. Just too bad this defense couldn't have generated at least one turnover today or it might have been the difference in terms of winning.
  14. Newton was the league MVP just two years ago on a 15-1 Panthers team that steamrolled to the superbowl. But yes he's certainly not playing anywhere close to his capability because he's obviously not healthy and that's the real reason why this game was close to begin with.
  15. There were some horrible coaching decisions in this game but I give McDermott the benefit of the doubt as a rookie head coach in his 2nd NFL game.
  16. We'll never know but I'm willing to bet he makes a much better throw to Zay Jones on that play which would have gave us at least one more play to get the game winning TD.
  17. Nobody should blame this kid and he has a bright future with this team. Blame a QB who simply doesn't have the necessary skill set or ability to lead a team down the field when the rushing offense isn't working.
  18. While 100% true, McDermott will stick with Taylor as long as the defense keeps them in games like today. But once we start playing better offenses and start getting blown out I would assume we pull the plug on Taylor for good and see what Peterman can do. Taylor is a finished product and has proved time and time again he's not a true NFL QB in terms of a passer and can't win any games when the rushing offense stalls.
  19. We are set at TE and don't sleep on Logan Thomas getting more playing time as the season wears on and emerging as a threat in the passing game.
  20. Yes but 5 games total in 2 seasons with the Bills and he wasn't close to 100% in some of the games we tried rushing him back in (see Pats game last year). Make no mistake about it, any faint hopes of making the playoffs this year hinge on McCoy and most of the top heavy roster staying healthy and not missing games. You take McCoy out of the equation and this offense is toast especially with a QB like Taylor starting.
  21. I wouldn't be surprised if the Pats win out and go 15-1 on the way to another Superbowl win. But I also wouldn't be surprised if this is an 11-5 type of season for them and they have to grind it out through the playoffs. Either way if history has taught us anything it's very dangerous to write of Brady and Belichik and don't be surprised if they go into NO and destroy them this week. If that happens all the talk about them possibly being finished disappears for good sadly.
  22. For the bills to have a chance to win it needs to be something like 190 yards, 1 TD, 2 INT. Certainly possible considering that's what he did against a 49ers team that should be on par with the Jets this year in terms of talent and losses.
  23. And almost half of them have come the last few years with the Bills (5 games missed in 2015/2016), and even in a few games he started he wasn't close to 100% healthy. Not trying to bash the guy but all I'm saying is that he's near ancient in terms of NFL RB lifespan and if he were to suffer a season ending injury this team would automatically be in the running for the #1 overall pick in next years draft. As always the margin of error for this team is paper thin given the lack of talent and depth.
  24. Would certainly help this teams chances of being more than a rebuilding team this year if guys like Poyer and Humber end up like Lorenzo Alexander and emerging as legit NFL starters after being nothing more than backups and ST players on other teams throughout their careers.
  25. While Tolbert seems to playing the role of grizzled veteran and looked good against the Jets, I really wish we would have kept Gillessie but it was another monumental failure by Doug Whaley. Color me skeptical but I really don't see McCoy lasting a full 16 game season given his history.
