I was talking about the Jets at the Raiders, that game was long over by halftime compared to us struggling with them until the 4th quarter. Obviously circumstances were a little different as they are a division team and it was a home opener but the Raiders wasted little time decimating a team that certainly looked like they are well on their way to the #1 overall pick in 2018 which was expected.

9-18: McDermott and Coordinator Pressers

I'm not cheering for anything. He's not the answer, was hoping he could be like every failed QB that has played here since Jim Kelly but it's not happening. -
Bills D #2 in NFL after week 2

This is what I'm expecting, one of those ugly games where this defense looks like it did the last few years under Rex Ryan (i.e. 400+ yards and 30+ points allowed). I think we have a better chance of limiting the Broncos but no way we are slowing down the Falcons after what they did to the Packers and Aaron Rogers last night. -

As bad as I wanted Taylor benched I'm not worried about it because his play is going to continue to speak for itself and solve the problem eventually. -
Fan Poll - Pay attention Front Office!

It should have been Peterman time from day one but this team can't seem to figure out of they are tanking or actually trying to win games. -
It was just the jets and we barely beat them and if you don't understand that sorry. Look what a real team, QB and offense did to them yesterday in a game that was over long before halftime. And we don't know how good the Panthers truly are since they have played the Bills and 49ers, but even if they end up being a playoff team this year that was the type of game the Bills need to win if they have any chance themselves of making the tourney. I have no disillusions of what this team is but they might have had a much better shot this year had they made a better effort on the offensive side of the football but retaining Taylor and hiring Dennison tells me all I need to know about this latest regime that's destined to follow in the footsteps of many others over the last 17 years.

Not sure why people keep insisting this about Newton when he's 2 years removed from being the league MVP and having one of the best single season and post season's ever in Carolina that year. The issue with him is that he's not 100% coming off shoulder surgery which is also why we only lost the game by 6 points and miraculously had a chance to win. Against the Broncos and certainly the Falcons it's going to be a much better story given the QB's we are facing.

Sean Jauron has a nice ring to it.......
SaviorPeterman replied to BADOLBILZ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
At least McDermott shows emotion, but he is very Jarounian with his offense and unhealthy ST obsession especially if they are looking at replacing the punter already 2 games into the season. -
Especially if they expected this defense to actually be decent to possibly great which is what they've shown so far. Why ruin any real chance this team might have had for the playoffs? I get that they didn't forsee a long term future with Watkins and might have felt he wasn't going to stay healthy. But to stockpile slot receivers and not bring any semblance of a vertical threat to the offense is bush league at best. And I don't blame Beane for letting Gillesle go since that was Whaley, but relying a 34 short yardage back to be the primary back to a great RB whose been often injured in Buffalo is a recipe for disaster. Quality RB's might be a dime a dozen but we really don't have much behind McCoy. Also insisting on starting Jordan Mills at RT is a trainwreck and there has to be a better turnstile we could have signed off the street. Regardless it's a matter of time before this guy sends the entire QB depth chart to IR. We seen some terrible offenses the last 17 years in Buffalo but after setting ominous records yesterday (like 7 net passing yards at halftime) it's not getting any better and even a QB change to Peterman might not matter.
-
Typical MO with this team, look to fix a problem where there isn't one. But at least the coaching staff and front office realizes we are going to be punting a lot so have to load up ST players similar to the Dick 'The Stiff' Jauron days.

Bills D #2 in NFL after week 2
SaviorPeterman replied to CanadianFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes this too, we all know the annual march to the IR is coming especially playing such physical games like yesterday. This team is paper thin in terms of depth especially LB and secondary. -
Please stop blaming the refs, it's worse than the excuses about how the NFL is out to get the Bills each scheduling us to play multiple teams coming off their bye weeks. This pathetic organization has nobody to blame but themselves for 17+ straight years of trainwrecks and failures.

Bills D #2 in NFL after week 2

I still think it's a mirage and these defensive ratings will plummet soon especially after these next two games against the Broncos and Falcon's offenses. Guys are going to stop giving max effort when they realize the offense isn't capable of scoring more than 10 points a game. -
Um how about working out a new kicker? This Haushca joker seems like a headcase and was lucky that field goal bounced off the uprights yesterday or we would have been shut out.
-
I tend to agree with this and being at home isn't going to matter much for this team given the current situation with this offense. The only good thing that will hopefully come out of this game is serious talk about making a QB change because McDermott and Beane would be foolish to stick wtih Taylor much longer since he's part of the last regime they are aggressively trying to distance themselves from.

Why did the bills draft Peterman?
SaviorPeterman replied to Steptide's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Because the offense was better in terms of scheme and overall talent, there's a reason why Anthony Lynn was hired as the chargers HC even if he doesn't end up lasting there very long. We also had several deep threats and a top notch back up RB. The book on Taylor is out and he's not magically going to get better and what you saw today is going to continue in most games this year because teams are going to load up and say beat us with your arm and we all know he can't. -

If you are implying we'll still be mathematically alive for the playoffs in December I assure you that's not happening with Taylor as the starter. -
Bad calls don't matter if you have a franchise QB capable of carrying a team on it's back even with mediorce WR talent around him. Franchise QB's also make average coaches look great just look at Del Rio in Oakland with a guy like Carr as his QB. This is rocket science and why this team has been stuck in the NFL abyss for 17 (and soon to be 18) years. And if we don't solve this puzzle in next year's draft we are easily reaching 20+ years with no playoffs.
-
Believe I wish we hired somebody else either but it's hard to envision us dumping coordinators until McDermott and Beane start looking for scapegoats, which be until sometime during the 2018 season or after.
-
I don't see him being fired after one season especially since they can blame Taylor and the lack of QB's for why this offense ends up dead last or among the league's worst.
-
I like what this defense has done but my gut instinct tells me it's a mirage because of who we've played so far combined with the defense giving max effort to start the season. I'm also not sold on the LB corp and feel they will be exposed big time soon both in the pass and running game. And we've all seen this script play out before especially once the injuries start happening combined with playing better teams. And eventually most of these guys are going to stop busting their ass when they know they don't have a QB or offense that can keep up with good teams and is scoring less than 10 points a game. This defense reminds me of Marrone's first year back in 2013 and we all know how that season ended up.

Why did the bills draft Peterman?
SaviorPeterman replied to Steptide's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
PFF had Peterman graded as the 2nd best rookie QB in preaseason behind Patrick Mahomes in KC. And just because he wasn't drafted higher it doesn't mean he's not capable of being a franchise QB. Sure the odds are against him being the next Tom Brady but with the right development you never know. The issue with Peterman though is he's going to likely be forced into the starting lineup this year and if he does struggle when he plays it could essentially kill his career like so many QB's in Buffalo and other similar situations around the league. Either way we all know Taylor isn't the answer and there's little value add to this team keeping him as the starter. This regime owes him nothing other than his inevitable release in the offseason. -
There isn't an offensive scheme out there that is conducive to a gimmick type of player masquerading as a QB like Taylor. Sure he can hit a few long balls from time to time but so could Losman, Manuel, etc. What you see with Taylor is what you get and that's a guy who likes to run and has happy feet with little to no pressure in the pocket. And the reason he don't have many turnovers is because he doesn't take chances especially in the middle of the field when guys are probably open.
