  1. That would require creative offensive coaching and solid QB play which we obviously don't have.
  2. The Pegulas are good people but have no clue how to run professional sports franchises and so far looks liked they were seduced by BS once again with McD/Beane just like with Rex Ryan and his brother.
  3. They had more wins that us, remember Bills beat the Jets are another bad loss from the wheels coming off. Not saying the Rams are a SB squad but they have the talent to win a lot of games this year. And still think the defense will be much better this because it's not the norm for a Wade Phillips defense to give up almost 40 points. My point is that not matter how you feel about the Watkins deal, it's not like we got the better end especially since Gaines is a FA after the season and we might just waste the 2nd round pick in a trade or draft another horrible player which has been the norm with our 2nd rounders in recent years.
  4. For the record I have no issue with the Watkins deal despite his coming out party in primetime last night for the Rams. We all know his history here and at least we got something for him. But make no mistake about it, just like with the Chiefs 1st rounder, this Rams 2nd round pick is also looking like it will in the bottom third of selections because this Ram's team is going to be decent this year and I wouldn't be surprised if they sneak up and win that division since the only real threat is the Seahawks whose offense is terrible and can't score either. Plus the Rams have owned that series in recent years anyway even with much worse teams. I hope Terry Pegula paid attention last night though watching former Bills on both teams light it up and make plays. Beane and McDermott are not proven commodities and certainly don't deserve a '5 year plan' or whatever BS they are already likely feeding the Pegulas.
  5. Like I've been saying all along, this new front office needs to be held accountable for destroying the offense especially if they really believed they weren't completely rebuilding and would have the defense back on track. Sick and tired of the Bills being a farm league for other NFL teams.
  6. Here's another (factual) telling stat: "Since starting for the Bills in 2015, Taylor has 16 games (a full season) of passing for 200 yards or less." Again, Taylor is what he is and anybody that believes otherwise is kidding themselves and we are simply wasting Peterman's development by not starting him.
  7. If Taylor sucks again this week at home guarantee the boos at New Era will be deafening by halftime as the crowd starts chanting Peterman. Whether the coaches act on it though is a different story.
  8. Darnold is once every 10 year type of prospect but we have no chance at him so not going to even think about it. And knowing the Bills luck the Jets land him, and they end up being just like the Pats and Brady for the next 10+ years and our misery continues. All these other guys are more realistic targets for the Bills in a trade up scenario or using our own pick which at best would probably be in the #10 - #15 range depending on how many meaningless games we win this year. Just no more gimmick type of QB's please, we need a true pocket general with a cannon arm.
  9. Then drafting Peterman was a waste. Yes it's no secret this was widely viewed as a transition/rebuild year in which we are about to reach 18 straight years of failure, but Taylor is not the answer and nobody cares about him playing well against other bottom feeder teams like the Jets the rest of the way. Peterman starting would at least give the fans something to be at least remotely excited about this season
  10. Yes that's why he needs to be benched for Peterman who at least looked serviceable in preseason. And yes never said Taylor sucked per se, he's certainly had his moments when everything else was working around him but he's not the answer here and it's time to move on.
  11. He's nothing more than Trent Edwards with mobility. And just like with Edwards, some of the key metrics with Taylor are misleading because he doesn't take chances with the football and is quick to check down, wildly overthrown downfield attempts, etc. That's why his INT count has always been low. Remember in 2010 when we benched Edwards after 2 games in which the offense was putrid and could move the ball? Fitzpatrick (who wasn't great either) came in and the offense looked completely different the rest of the season starting the very next week when he threw for 300+ against the Pats even in a loss. Guarantee the same will happen when Peterman takes over for Taylor at some point because by default he's a better fit for this offense and a real NFL QB in terms of being able to throw with more precision and accuracy.
  12. I just think at this point we are prolonging the inevitable with Taylor, he is what he is and doing what most experts and astute fans have expected and that's look exactly the same as he has the last few years, if not worse in this new offense that's obviously not a fit for him. And while I agree in theory it's too early to pull the plug this week, when we are sitting at 1-3 in a few weeks (and we will be if we lose against Denver because we certainly aren't winning in Atlanta) what is the harm of making a QB change and seeing what Peterman can do? Because we all know this team don't have the talent to climb out of that type of hole and the season will be over for all intents and purposes anyway. Worst case scenario is we find a quality backup to our future 1st round pick next year and he'll have 10+ games of experience under his belt. And if for some reason Peterman looks great or even decent when he plays we probably don't have to waste a bunch of picks to move up into the top 5 in next years draft and can stay put and take a QB later in the 1st round or 2nd round to compete with Peterman.
  13. Saw this on the weekly Rochester D&C game preview. On average his passes are traveling 4 yards in the air. These are putrid metrics regardless of the talent around him on offense. I mean how do you expect to win football games with these type of numbers? Would a 5th round rookie truly be a downgrade? Yes it's early but if this regime really believes in this guy we are in a lot of trouble and it brings into question what type of QB they might look for with a 1st round pick next year.
  14. Exactly as have many other guys whose play seemed to get worse in Buffalo as their careers went on here. And in Darby's case the scheme or coaching didn't even change from year one to year two yet he still fell off a cliff.
  15. I don't agree because the Cardinals didn't look that great coming into Buffalo despite being pegged as a SB contender. They also went on to have bad year. Broncos have been dominant in all three phases of the game so far and have been near unbeatable in Sep/Oct the last 3 years even when they've cooled off down the stretch like last season.
  16. What do these people expect when your WR depth chart consists of slot WR's and castoffs? And again, while I have no problem moving on from guys like Watkins and Goodwin, the effort this team made to get any real vertical threat to replace them was feeble at best. Going to be a very long season if the running game continues to struggle and we can't pass the ball more than 10 yards at a time.
  17. They would have already done this I unless you can't cut a suspended player?
  18. Whaley did make comments when he left about giving the new regime a gift with the extra 1st rounder from KC in next years draft. However I do believe that McDermot had the final say on the White pick because he's a DB that fits this scheme perfectly and obviously with Gilmore bolting to the Pats it once again became a priority need.
  19. Like I said, I do believe the defense is a mirage and will start to tail off big time especially as the injuries continue and we face much better teams and QB's. But even if this defense ends up being in the top 15 in terms of the final rankings, it will be another 'what could have been' type of scenario knowing that even with the same offense the last 2 years under Rex Ryan we might have been good enough to seriously challenge for a playoff spot or sneak in. One thing I do know, is if this team is destined for another 7-9 type of season that's the worst possible scenario because once again we are screwed out of prime draft position and will be forced to trade away most of the picks we accumulated to another team if we want a shot a blue chip QB prospect.
  20. I honestly can't keep track because we've seen such terrible players in Buffalo during the drought but yes who can forget Cornell Green and all 5 starts he made before he was dumped.
  21. Not sure but obviously Henderson is probably going to get a shot at the starting RT spot when he comes back because Mills a true turnstile and one of the worst starters this team has seen at any position in the last 17 years.
  22. While I personally believe that's always been the case, this team currently has the #2 overall defense in the NFL. And while that will probably eventually change, the point is as of today this team is squandering a real chance to compete for a playoff spot because they don't have the offense to match it. So if McDermott and Beane didn't expect the defense to be this good and equally as terrible as the offense it already proves they are in over their heads and likely won't succeed here.
  23. I have no sympathy for Whaley and pretty sure he's still going to be collecting money from the Pegula's for a while just like Rex Ryan. They Buddy Nix/Whaley regime were certainly the worst of the 17 year drought and truly put this team in a tough spot even for the next few years as Beane and the new front office will still be cleaning up the mess with some of these bad deals and contacts.
  24. Yep this sums it up, same reason why Rex Ryan is pretty much 100% responsible for his own demise in Buffalo for insisting on running a complex 3-4 scheme in which we had very few players that fit it. He could have easily kept Jim Schartz and ran the same defense but his ego really believed he could do better than a top 5 defense by switching. And now with the defense back on track we are in the same mess with this new offense under Dennison.
  25. I think the better plan would be to draft our own franchise QB next year and have him compete with Peterman for the starting job in 2018. But if Alex Smith was a fallback option he's proved that at minimum he can be the ultimate game manager QB and is everything Taylor isn't in terms of actually being able to throw the ball with precision and accuracy, and even make plays with his legs. Don't see anybody stupid enough to take Dareus contract though especially Andy Reid and John Dorsey who are among the top HC/GM combos in the league, if not the best right now.
