I never revised my prediction, and after today I'm officially going on record and reinforcing my original position that this is not a playoff team with Taylor. If we go to Peterman at least there is something to look forward to watching the rest of the way but this defense will soon tail off and stop trying because they know they don't have a QB that plays to score points and is simply another Trent Edwards sans the mobility.
-
And it 2014 at least we had a coach that knew a QB change was needed despite the team starting 2-2. Yes we are 3-2 with Taylor but without the defense we'd be 1-4 and we are simply delaying the inevitable sticking with an extremely limited player that offers nothing other than the occassional scramble and big play. But even those type of plays have been few and far between this year because opposing teams have shut down McCoy and the rushing offense.
-
He's not played well for most of the season and without the defense playing over their heads we are probably 1-4 right now. Taylor is a finished product and will be the reason this team doesn't make the playoffs assuming the defense keeps up but don't think that happens either because despite the turnovers they were lit up today.
-
The went conservative decided to keep Gaines out even though there was a though he could probably play today. But whatever, it likely wouldn't have matter and it's very telling that despite all the turnovers Dalton and the Bengals still lit this team up and won. They should have won by 14+ points and I wish they would have so fans understand this team isn't going anywhere with Taylor as the QB.

At the end of the day Taylor simply isn't a fit for this offense and what Dennison/McD are trying to do. They have been fortunate to win with smoke and mirrors so far and I certainly don't blame Taylor for the injuries that are piling up right on cue this time of year in Buffalo, but at the end of the day you have to give your offensive skill players a chance and Taylor doesn't do that. The book is out on this offense and the days of seeing McCoy and the running game go for 150+ a week are long over and not coming back until we can prove we can get the ball downfield and find guys in the middle open. And once again Taylor proved he can't lead a 4th quarter comeback and turned the ball over the first chance he's actually taken in weeks. It's time for a change and both fans and the Bills organization is kidding themselves if they believe otherwise.
-
I hope this game is a wake up call for not just the fans, but entire Bills organization that once again not having a legit NFL QB has reared it's ugly head and this offense simply isn't sustainable no matter how good the defense plays. But sadly nothing will happen, no trades/signings will be made and this offense will continue to struggle and get worse as the season goes on.

See what happens when Taylor actually throws the ball and takes chances, he sucks and turns it over because that's who he is. -

What's sad too is teams know exactly when we are running the ball with McCoy and where it's going which is why he's had so many negative plays this year and we'll probably set the NFL record for that. The guy can barely get anything possible without a holding penalty. -

All you can do is laugh, this team was playing for the FG with starting field position in the redzone. -

Win or lose today, if this team is serious about making a playoff run they will need to make a move for a WR. We really need another RB too. No point in hoarding all these picks in next years draft if there is a real chance of doing something this year but still have my doubts based on this team being exposed on both sides of the ball today. -

Going to need a defensive or ST touchdown to win this game because we aren't getting one from the offense. -

This is what this team gets for playing conservative, now they are going to have to score a TD to win. Run, Run, pass won't work and time for Taylor to finally do something. On defense though no excuse to not be bringing the house on Dalton who is playing on one leg and not even 100% yet he's well on his way to 300+ yard game. -

Bills are going to need at least 17 points to win this game and I don't see that happening based on the way this game is going and still think we are one more Bengals score away from this turning ugly. -

Very telling stat and if the Bengals score again on this drive this one is over. -

Yikes, this is exactly what I was concerned about in terms of the Bengals taking the early lead and the defense finally having a down game. Hope McDermott and the offensive coaches realize this might not be one of those 13-10 type of games and we are going to have to manufacture points to win. -
Watkins admits he was selfish, upset after wins.
SaviorPeterman replied to JM2009's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Who knows what Watkins deal is, personally I would have preferred to keep him this season especially now that we very well may be in the playoff picture. But I'll also go out on a limb and predict he won't be back with the Rams next year either especially since they have a ton of options and he's not getting the ball much there. Not sure any team is going to offer him a huge contract though. -

At least he's admitting to being a lockerroom cancer which was some fans insisted wasn't the case. Probably also another reason Beane and McD wanted him gone. -
This is just it. And I've certainly hammered that point home. In Vic Carruci's weekly podcast today he went as far as to say that even if the Bills were to make the Superbowl this year with Taylor he'd still be looking to upgrade the QB position in the offseason. And quite honestly I don't argue that point, remember a guy named Colin Kapernick went to the Superbowl not too long ago with the 49ers and we all know where he is now and how his play was exposed especially after the 49ers defense started to suck.

Is today "Nick Folk Day" in New England?
SaviorPeterman replied to Jerry Jabber's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Teams seem to implode playing the Pats, especially in primetime games. But it's very concerning that the Pats defense looked great last night especially on a short week. Winston and Bucs offense is no joke and it was very impressive what Belichik and Patricia did to them so the league better take notice. -
Dennison Likes What He's Seen from His Offense
SaviorPeterman replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Dennison seems to be pretty delusional but whatever, his popgun offense has done enough the last few weeks against good teams but let's see if it holds up. I don't believe it will especially as injuries loom large. -
Believe what you want but it's the facts. Again, I'm not trashing Taylor. He's been perfectly adequate for the most part this season. My main argument (which I know a lot of other fans, media, etc agree with) is he's not a franchise QB and not capable of leading a team with a poor to average defense. He proved that the last two years. So if the idea in the short term is we are trying to emulate what the Chiefs have done in recent years with Alex Smith and their defense so be it, might be good enough to get to the playoffs but not win games there.
