  1. Interesting you mention the cardinals because the Buffalo News has them listed as a trade partner as well for Glenn and/or Dareus saying the Bills could target any of thier WR's Josh Brown, Jaron Brown or JJ Nelson in return.
  2. These rumors aren't surprising especially after McD's comments about Glenn yesterday. And I know some fans disagree, but at least with Glenn we can unload a player (and contract) that's on the decline and may never be the same again because of the nagging injury issues in recent years. So if a team offered a mid to late round pick + a player in return why not? Especially if its' a WR. As for Dareus the situation is obviously more difficult to him given his off the field issues and contract but he is apparently healthy or as close to healthy he's going to be this season and anything we could get in return would be a win at this point.
  3. The Bills have been 3-2 every season since 2014 and we all know how the previous 3 ended up. And everybody thought there was a magical turn around last year after 0-2 start and we pounded the Cardinals (who were supposed to be a SB caliber team) and we all know how that end up. As of right now the Broncos and Falcons wins look good, but both those teams might not be anything more than .500 type teams when it's all said and done which is why people need to tap the brakes and see how things play out.
  4. There are always early season upsets and quite frankly we don't know how good or bad Denver and Atlanta are, maybe they both end up being mediorce 8-8 teams this year which in hindsight makes the Bills victories hollow just like with the Rams and Cardinals last year.
  5. People have said this in years past but there is always separation as the season wears on. And yes as of today the Pats and Chiefs are probably the only teams most would feel confident in saying are locks for the playoffs, but many of these other teams will start to pull away from the pack soon because that's the way it works. Are the Bills going to be one of those teams? It's certainly possible but we are seeing a familiar script play out especially with the injuries piling up and I don't believe this team has the talent, coaching and most importantly the QB to sustain this and will no doubt be on the wrong side of .500 by Thanksgiving making the latest 'hot start' ancient history.
  6. Another stiff during interviews but most of these guys are. If this team does implode after a 3-1 start, McD has no clue what's coming from both the fans and local media.
  7. Delusions of grandeur. If we couldn't beat a team like the Bengals after generating 3 TO's we aren't beating most of the teams left on the schedule and as always they'll be separation soon in terms of teams we think are beatable right now that will mop the floor with the Bills.
  8. Pretty much, we basically played for a field goal with starting field position on the 12 yard line. We get the TD there and at worse we go to overtime with the Bengals. And what scares me is this truly 'McDBall' and he's another 'play not to lose' and 'hang around until the 4th quarter and find a way to win' type of coach which is a losing proposition in today's NFL. You play to win in all 4 quarters, not just show up, play close and try to win in the end.
  9. Your opinion and assessment is spot on my friend and what myself and others are preaching. Taylor doesn't lead WR's open and why his INT numbers have always been low and other metrics very misleading. He waits until he's sure he can make a throw without turning the ball over and also why he takes a ton of sacks like yesterday. This oline is not as bad in pass protection as some think and PFF has them in the top 10 for pass blocking efficiency. We need a guy willing to take chances and force the ball into tighter spaces which Peterman had done in college and with limited preseason action (he was ranked #2 overall rookie QB behind Mahomes this preseason) Will there be more turnovers by making this change? Absolutely, but with the way the defense is playing you have to assume they will bail you out. And at least we'd have a QB capable of passing for more than 150 yards per game.
  10. Can't depend on Clay coming back this year and/or playing at a high level if he does. Therefore it's time to make a move....
  11. Today at his press conference, McD was asked about these specific numbers about Taylor and his record when trailing by 4 points or more in a game and he conveniently sidestepped and gave a BS answer basically saying he wasn't aware of what happened before he got here and focused on the present.
  12. No way this happens now because it would be an acknowledgement of failure by McD. Obviously you have to wait until your 2nd year to find scapegoats just like Rex did last year with Roman.
  13. Proves McD is in over his head. White was grading out well and they bought into it thinking he's all of a sudden Revis in his prime but should have know this was coming against a team with a healthy, elite WR like Green. Same reason I do prescribe to the theory we would have lost against the Falcons if they had a healthy Jones and Sanu in the 2nd half last week. They also did anyway without them.
  14. And sadly the Dolphins are still right in the mix for the division and playoffs right now. This forum will implode if we lose to them this season.
  15. It depends on whose willing though because right now all three winless teams are likely going to be looking at a QB, even the Giants who nobody expected to be terrible this year because Eli Manning's best days are obviously behind him as well. Also you have to consider that any team in the top 5 willing to trade out is still going to be looking for a king's ransom especially know the assets the Bills have which is why it would be smart to use some of them now to try and get immediate help this year for a playoff push.
  16. Yes and they should know by now Taylor isn't an prototypical NFL QB in that sense and never will be. We are simply delaying the inevitable the longer they stick with him as the starter.
  17. Just like in years past they'll start to fade soon because a lot of what they are doing right now too is smoke and mirrors (i.e. give up tons of yards, tighten up in redzone and create turnovers when possible). And trust me when it happens things will get real ugly and a lot of blowouts will be coming especially with the Chiefs, Pats x2 ,etc on the back end of the schedule. But honestly if any of these veterans are serious about trying to win games going forward I guarantee they are also lobbying for a QB change behind the scenes.
  18. I watch a lot of football both pro and college, not just the Bills. I also have various contacts in the scouting world from previous work I did years ago working in the Pac 10. And while some of them don't necessarily believe Taylor is terrible and the Bills can do worse (we have), the consensus is that he's a finished product who has glaring flaws that are exposed when he's asked to pass the football more than 20 times a game regardless of the talent around him. In other words he's a solid back up and extreme game manager and that's why he was drafted where he was and rode the bench in Baltimore. And that's exactly what myself and many other fans and media see as well. These same folks also believe that this is Taylor's last season in Buffalo anyway which is why it doesn't make sense to stick with him the entire season if Peterman might be able to provide a spark and change things up. Sure Peterman might not be the answer either but we know 100% Taylor isn't and that's the bottom line.
  19. Pretty much, and I don't think anybody believes the Bengals are a playoff team this year and anything more than another mediorce 8-8 type of team just like the Bills are probably destined to be. We've seen this too many times in Buffalo in recent years where the defense comes out like gangbusters early in the season, wreaks havoc, creates multiple turnovers, etc then fades down the stretch and that's what's going to happen this year too and when it does this team won't likely win another game the rest of the year. McD and Beane has to understand that being 3-2 right now means nothing and big time changes are needed whether it's a switch to Peterman, or making some moves for oline and WR help. They have more than enough picks to do something and even a guy like Gary Barnridge would likely help since he's a hybrid WR/TE type.
  20. Actually the Cowboys did it back in 2006 when they were 3-2 and tied for the division lead similar to how we are now with the Jets and Patriots. They benched Bledsoe for Romo and never looked back and went on to make the playoffs that year and should have won their 1st round game against the Seahawks if not for an epic blunder at the end of the game. I'm sure there are other examples too but that one is the most memorable to me because of Bledsoe being on the Bills a few years earlier before we dumped him for Losman of all people.
  21. Hence the reason sadly I don't buy into the glimmer of hope and believe this team will continue to struggle even against the most porous (statistically) defenses. This offense is on well on it's way to setting many dubious marks not just in franchise history, but NFL history which is why the debate regarding a QB change is valid and has to be taking place in Orchard Park if Beane and McD truly know what they are doing.
  22. One thing I will say about this, it's very interesting that the Bengals, Panthers and Broncos are also on that list because it does provide some glimmer of hope or belief that perhaps the offense isn't as bad as it has shown since we've faced all those teams already and only play one more on that list (Dolphins). But in the end these are the type of teams we would be facing in the playoffs if we got there and also why we would have little to no chance of winning high stakes games given the current QB and offense situation.
  23. No I don't. Like many fans and media I had this team pegged for a 3-13 or 4-12 type of season this year, and while they've certainly surprised and will (likely) be better than that I think another 8-8 type of season is the ceiling for this team given the QB situation and other glaring flaws that continue to be magnified on a weekly basis. I also don't think the defense will hold up because if you take away the turnovers the last few weeks they've actually been pretty bad in terms of the yardage and big plays given up and just like in years past this team won't sustain that type of play, at least with the turnover pace. Best thing that can happen for this team right now is a QB change to at least try and make things interesting but worst case we lose games with a young rookie vs a guy who is a finished product and only going to get worse from here on out since opposing coaches have the formula to defend him and this offense.
  24. All the trades we made are with teams that will be picking in the bottom half of their respective rounds especially the Eagles and Chiefs. Jury is still out on the Rams but can't imagine they will be any worse than 9-7 or 8-8 this year which also makes the Watkins trade bad in hindsight considering we could have used him this year and probably would be in a much better spot offensively with him on the roster.
  25. PFF had Peterman ranked as the #2 overall QB behind Patrick Mahomes in preseason. I never said he was lighting it up per se but he moved showed he can move Dennison's pop gun offense down the field and actually had real chemistry with Zay Jones who looks completely lost playing with Taylor.
