Just had a brief convo with Donald Jones.
SaviorPeterman replied to Cherrybone's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I've been saying this for weeks and DJ's opinion is the same of many scouts I've spoke with in recent weeks regarding Taylor's flaws and what a move to Peterman could do for this offense. If McD and his coaches are truly studying the game film they would see that Taylor is not making plays that are there to be had. In fact for all the talk about our oline woes, they actually aren't that bad in pass blocking according to PFF's efficiency metrics that I pointed out already. Run blocking, yes that's a different story but better QB play would certainly change that as well. -
Not denying this team has multiple problems across the board on offense, but QB is the main issue and with better QB play it can mask the other problems (i.e. putting in a guy that can read a defense and make quick decisions, give his WR's a chance to make a play, etc). In fact if you watched the Bears game that's what Trubisky did on the game winning drive in overtime. Despite his overall numbers he made plays when he needed to and threw the ball up high only where his WR could get it on the game winning drive. Nothing is change with Taylor behind center, teams are going to continue to stack the box and shut down McCoy knowing he won't take chances with the football and throw the ball more than 10 yards deep. Sucks being right but other people are fully aware of this it's not just me. Bucs are getting destroyed right now in AZ but guarantee they will right the ship against the Bills next week playing against Taylor if he's the starter.

Who said we suck? I honestly don't know how good or bad this team is but after watching an alleged 'terrible' Dolphins team go to Atlanta after their bye week and come back from down 17 points to win it certainly diminishes what the Bills did. I think at this point though it's clear the bills aren't going to win many games with their current QB situation. Look what a QB change did for the Bears whose offense was at best on par with the Bills with Taylor right now. This team has a chance to do something this year if they are willing to address the elephant in the room, if not than yes I guarantee the wins will be few and far between the rest of the season.

Fake news and I never said that. But if you want to use BBMB logic than sure I'm a troll because I post facts that are perceived as negative against the Bills. Party is over and the picture becomes clearer each day regarding who the Bills really are. Same reason no trades were made during the bye week because Beane and McD realize this team is a mirage and likely not winning many more games down the stretch.

It was fun while it lasted for the Bills, but now the question is are the Pats in 1st place the rest of the way and if so how many games do they win the division by this year? Still not sure they will cruise to the division title in years past and clinch in early Dec, but realistically they are still a 11-5 team at worst this year. And with the Dolphins looking like they are about to get hot again and go on a roll like last year will be interesting to see who gives them the best challenge this year because it obviously wasn't going to be the Jets as expected today. Pats don't play a division game against until 11/26 and it will be home against the Dolphins.

The Smokin' Jay thread
SaviorPeterman replied to BringBackOrton's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Cutler is probably the 2nd best QB in the division and he's led the Dolphins to the same record as the bills. Pretty remarkable since he was signed off the street in the middle of training camp and our own starter can barely pass for 100 yards in most games. -
A serious question because a lot of the revised season predictions on here have us beating them twice, very easily according some posters. Don't see it happening in fact I would favor them to sweep the Bills at this point since they are a better team across the board and might be the only team that can truly challenge the patriots since they have the 2nd best QB in the division. And so much for the Bills own 'big win' in Atlanta, puts into perspective where this team really is and hindsight in this league always proves the Bills early season victories are meaningless when the final records settle in. Falcons had 2 weeks to prepare for this game too and were up 17 points, they don't look very good this year especially if you consider the two last second wins they easily have lost against the Bears and Lions. Also would like to point out the Dolphins have the same record as the Bills with a so called washed up QB they signed off the street. Meanwhile we are sticking with a guy who barely goes over 150 passing yards on a good day.

This is what I expect as well, Jets are likely not for real despite their current 3 game win streak. Pats have started 2-2 in many of their SB years and went on to dominate the rest of the season playoffs.

Zay Jones. 5 of 23 is pitiful
SaviorPeterman replied to BuffaloBillsMagic1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think the biggest mistake this staff is making with Jones is rushing him into the starting lineup. Most rookie WR's take time to develop, even most 1st rounders. This is why I maintain that even with a healthy Jordan Matthews this team needs to make a move for another proven veteran option if they have serious playoff aspirations this season. -
Why is Dareus not in on passing downs?
SaviorPeterman replied to Dragonborn10's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Apparently Cedric Thornton is a better option than a guy making $20 million per season. Go figure. -
We are lucky to even be 3-2 quite frankly which is why there is continued to debate regarding changing QBs, oline shuffling, making trades/signing players, etc. This offense truly is that bad and don't matter if the defense is truly good and keeps up their end of the bargain. The wins simply aren't going to be there regardless of the perceived strength or weakness of the remaining schedule.
-
LB depth wouldn't hurt but it's no secret that WR needs to be the top priority if we bring in outside help. Oline and RB would also be a priority.
-
I'm still pretty surprised this guy survived the two previous regimes and still here but ST is the least of this teams problems right now. Also at least we still aren't wasting a roster spot on a 'kickoff specialist'.

Shaq Lawson Another Whaley Mistake?
SaviorPeterman replied to Irv's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Kelsay was a legendary drought player, Jaraun's 'lunch pail' classic player but sorely overrated. But yes at worse that's Lawson's floor, I think he'll end up being much better even if he's not a huge sack guy. -
Herein lines the problem though, and as the cardinal rule says...if your team has more than 3 major questions before/during the season you likely are not a playoff team. In this case there is more than a handful of a major question marks and concerns and I don't think there's much we can do to address all of these barring a flurry of in season roster moves via trade/street FA signings. In the end this team is likely destined for another 8-8 type of finish.

It's close but I think the Jets have more total wins against them mostly from the Rex Ryan days and they have seemed to play the pats tough the last few years too with under Bowles. Bills have to be last in terms of wins against them since Brady has been there obviously.
-
Wouldn't be shocked if it happened, especially since of all the division teams the Jets have had the most success against the Pats during their run the last 15 years. But I still think this will be a game where Brady comes out and dominates amid reports he's had injury issues because it's simply what he does.
-
This is certainly a great metric but I still don't see this defense keeping up this kind of pace throughout the season in terms of both TO's created and points allowed. And as great is this is we are still only 3-2 and losing against the Bengals despite creating 3 TO's is still very telling in terms of projecting how good or bad this team truly is. This is why it's absolutely critical we do something, anything to try and get the offense going because as these defense numbers begin to slide the wins will be few and far between if the offense can't figure out how to move the ball and score points.

Which games will you watch on the Bye week?
SaviorPeterman replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If I have time certainly the Pats and Jets and probably also TB and AZ to scout next weeks opponent. -
Shaq Lawson Another Whaley Mistake?
SaviorPeterman replied to Irv's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Can't count last year because of the injury but I think Lawson has been solid both against the run and rushing the passer and certainly don't believe he's a finished product yet. Not every 1st round Dline is going to get 10+ sacks per season anyway but way too early to say bust or wasted pick and pretty sure this new regime would have already tried unloading him like just about every other Whaley player if they felt that way. -
Bills vs Bye: Predict The Score
SaviorPeterman replied to corta765's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I disagree only because these are the classic 'swing games' that Buffalo has blown in recent years, especially at home when they should be able to dictate the game. I don't believe TB is a powerhouse by any means but a lot of people pegged them as a dark horse SB contender heading into the season and their offense is very potent when firing on all cylinders. I also don't agree this is the toughest matchup, I think the Raiders is especially if Carr is healthy and they also could be in a desperate spot when we play them. Jets TNF game all of a sudden looks to be very tough as well. Bottom line nothing is guaranteed with this team and the way the offense is currently playing. We could easily lose 5 straight games as easy as we could go 5 straight coming up. -
No just suggesting they may be options. But realistically I don't see us landing Cousins because he'll either stay with Washington or go to a team willing to make him one of the top paid QB's in the NFL. Still believe we draft a QB next year though anyway since that's obviously the new regime's plan so it's a moot point anyway.

Bills vs Bye: Predict The Score
SaviorPeterman replied to corta765's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Will be interesting to see what Tampa does this week against the Cardinals on the road. Because if they look dominant and win handily I would be very concerned about next weeks game in Buffalo against them. Conversely if they Bucs lose they fall to 2-3 and will be a very desperate team heading to Buffalo looking to avoid a 3 game losing streak which could essentially end their season. Bottom line for the bills though is this is a must win game coming out of the bye week if this team has any chance of exorcising demons of years pasts when they have collapsed after much hotter starts in some cases.
