Anybody else concerned about the Tampa game?
SaviorPeterman replied to SaviorPeterman's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Will be interesting to see how McD has this team prepared especially after a brutal loss against a Bengals team that I still don't think is very good. Stakes are high in Buffalo and they can't let this Bucs team get rolling early and jump out to an early lead. -
FitzMagic again next week? Winston hurt in TB game...
SaviorPeterman replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The only positive in this game is that if Fitz does start against us chances are almost nonexistent that he plays the type of game he did with the jets last year especially since we have a completely new revamped secondary. Still not going to sleep on him though because he's always had a few great games per season even against good teams, but usually falls short. -
Henderson should get a chance to start at RT and replace Mills, who along with Ducasse has no business on an NFL roster let alone starting.

We've seen the Bills in this spot before, coming off a bye week or facing a reeling opponent in which fans and pundits believe they should be able to take care of business. Looking at the numbers the Bucs defense is terrible currently ranked 31st overall in terms of yards allowed so there is one advantage for the Bills to exploit. Conversely they are currently ranked #4 overall in total offense which on paper is the best the Bills have faced all season and should be a good test to see McD and Frasier's defense can hold up. Personally I believe this is a must win game for the Bills. Some will claim it's not especially since it's another non conference opponent but a loss would no doubt ramp up the criticism of the bills being pretenders. I also believe this is quite possibly Taylor's biggest game of his NFL career and he cannot afford to come out of the bye week struggling and posting pedestrian numbers again against this defense.
-
Nobody ever said you can't win a game with pedestrian stat lines from your starting QB, especially as the exception vs the norm. The problem with the Bills though compared to some of these other teams/players is that Taylor rarely exceeds 200+ passing yards in a game. For a team like the Giants the norm with Eli Manning on a good day is 200 - 300 yards and he has the ability to win games on his own. At the end of the day this is still a QB driven league and until the Bills find one we'll never climb out of the NFL abyss.

For the people that insist the Jets fumble in the endzone isn't legit, what purpose would the NFL have to give purposely negate that play and help the Pats? I mean wasn't it just last year that the same conspiracy theorists said that Goodell and the NFL were out to get the Patriots because of the deflategate nonsense? Why all of a sudden would they do a 360 and make sure they give the Pats every call possible? Anyway, I hope the Bills realize what's at stake this week after watching their division lead evaporate in just a few short weeks. Pats are only going to get strong as the season wears on while most feel the Bills have peaked and are destined to begin the annual midseason skid which may have started in Cincy last week.

Still #1! Scoring Defense in the League [week 6]
SaviorPeterman replied to CanadianFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I still feel this stat is misleading especially now that we know the Broncos and Falcons might not be that great after all. Either way this defense is going to be wasted unless some major changes to the offense are on the horizon. -
It's pretty sad that most of us are hoping for an average WR to come back this week knowing the season pretty much hangs in the balance given how pathetic the offense is. But even with Matthews in the lineup no team is going to fear the Bills as long as Taylor is the QB and even a team like the Bucs who have one of the worst defense statistically can get on track against this offense.

AFC East is the Best Division in Football
SaviorPeterman replied to CanadianFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As of today based on the individual team records I would agree with this, but over the long haul I don't believe the AFCE will be viewed as the best division in hindsight. I think the Jets are definitely going to be on the wrong side of .500 when the season is over, and still not sure the Bills and Dolphins will finish .500 or better either despite their respective 3-2 starts. I still think both the AFC West and NFC South have a better stake to that claim and coincidentally the AFCE plays both of them this season. -
Inflated or not it's pretty impressive, still a long way to go but he's going to have to carry the Texans this season if they are going to win the division or make the playoffs due to all the injuries on defense. Still not sure how the Bills or multiple other QB needy teams like the Browns could justify passing on this guy.
-
People say this every year when things are muddled the first month or so but sooner than later the separation will begin. In fact the usual suspects in the AFC are already making their moves taking control of their respective divisions (Pats, Steelers and Chiefs), the only division where things are murky is the AFC South given the QB situations there and even the Colts are still alive with their franchise QB still on the shelf. As for the NFC, things are a little more open especially now with Rogers like out of the year but you have to believe teams like the Seahawks, Panthers, etc will be the last teams standing in Jan which is also the norm. Don't sleep on the Eagles either as a potential SB team.

Still holding out hope we can unload Glenn for some help and/or draft picks. If not Henderson is probably done here even though he's also a better option than Jordan Mills and should be starting for this team if healthy.

Bills O-line 22nd ranked by PFF
SaviorPeterman replied to CanadianFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes but look at pass blocking, PFF has us as the 7th best in the NFL in that regard so what should that tell you? It means Taylor sucks and isn't getting the job done. We give Peterman a chance and guarantee guys will suddenly be wide open similar to the move to Fitz from Edwards in 2010 and Orton from Manuel in 2014. -
Week 7...Expecations should return to pre-season
SaviorPeterman replied to Jobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is also my concern, on paper this appears to be a very winnable game. But in years past these are the games that the Bills come out and get dominated in by a desperate team playing 'get healthy' or 'get back on track' game. And the Bucs are extremely desperate for a win after two straight losses knowing their season is pretty much on the line this week. Bottom line this team needs to understand that this is a must win for the Bills and can't worry about the Bucs. They need to play like they are the 2-3 team trying to avoid a 3 game losing streak and falling out of the playoff picture. I do have a feeling the Bills are going to lose though and the expectations that this isn't going to be a very good team this year come full circle. -
Around The League: NFL Week 6 (I think?)
SaviorPeterman replied to boyst's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I know the Giants are due for a win and probably not as terrible as their 0-5 record indicates but to do into Denver and dominate like this is truly impressive. Just sucks that it's happening at the expense of the Bills win against them so to speak. -
Lacanfora: Seahawks tried to trade for Glenn
SaviorPeterman replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Getting back on topic here - Will be interesting to see what happens with Glenn. I haven't heard anything concrete from any of my contacts but I don't think it's a secret that this regime wants to move on from him and believes they have their new LT of the present and future. And with Glenn's better days behind him we can't justify keeping him and his contract on this roster, so hopefully we do get something reasonable in return and soon. -

This is truly sad. Yes everybody hates the Pats, we get it. But that was 100% a legit call and the right one. People need to study the NFL rules and learn more about the freaking game. -
Lacanfora: Seahawks tried to trade for Glenn
SaviorPeterman replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He made several big time NFL throws including one in overtime to set them up for the field goal. Threw the ball high up only where the WR could get it, was truly a thing of beauty. -

PFF had Peterman graded out as the second best QB in preseason behind Mahones. He played in a pro style offense and you could tell he was in command of the huddle and ran Dennison's offfense perfectly in camp/preseason. Look what Trubinsky and especially Watson have already done for their teams. Bills are in a similar situation if they had the keys over to Peterman, guarantee this offense will look completely different. -

SaviorPeterman replied to boyst's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Sadly I don't think the Pats are even close to playing their best football yet. And like it or not, that play against the Jets was 100% valid no matter how many people want to claim conspiracy and a similar play happened against the Bills years ago against them if you remember.
