Hard to buy into the parity argument when the same teams are on track to easily win their divisions again this year (Pats, Steelers, Chiefs, etc). The only real question is what middle of the pack teams can sneak into the wildcard spots in each conference.

Mcdermott did the same thing to our offense as Rex did
SaviorPeterman replied to Yeezus's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Rarely do defensive minded coaches have teams that are offensive juggernauts, but I think what may prove to be McD's undoing down the road (in addition to sticking with taylor) is hiring Dennison and running a play not to lose type offense. This is still an offensive driven league and has been proven time and time again when the contenders separate themselves from the pretenders. -
What exactly has been shared? Where is your tangible, verifiable proof of this? Please provide it. This all started because I said I remembered a poster from the BBMB and actually thought the person in question good poster regardless of whatever some other former members believed. You have to remember, certain 'moderators' on the BBMB had an agenda, one driven from the top of the Bills organization so of course people would be banned for not drinking Bills flavored koolaid. Same reason Russ Brandon and his minions ultimately shut it down because even most long time, loyal posters were sick and tired of this team. Whatever though, you guys can believe whatever you want I really don't care and I find the personal attacks and accusations quite childish. It's derailing quality threads and people just want to talk some bills football!

Anybody else concerned about the Tampa game?

No way he plays that way again, if anything because we have a completely new secondary this year. But I never discount a former QB's motivation playing against a former team and the Bucs have a lot of talent on offense for him to work with. They are #4 overall in total offense despite their current sub .500 record. -
Week 7...Expecations should return to pre-season
SaviorPeterman replied to Jobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I guess I look at this way, if we do beat the Bucs we are 4-2 which is the same spot we were in last year and still collapsed. If we lose we are 3-3 with two straight losses and the serious criticism and questions begin. However the Bengals loss still doesn't sit well with me because I keep thinking that if we didn't get all the turnovers on defense we would have likely been blown out by 14+ points. And I still think that type of loss is coming because even most playoff teams have those type of games a few times a year. Bottom line, the big picture is still likely going to be murky this week with this team even with a win. But a bad loss could tell a loss a lot more than another close win. -

Based on various twitter reports, looks like Fitz is going to get the 1st team reps tomorrow in practice with Jamison not throwing until later in the week. At this point would have to believe Fitz is starting against us but still not sure if that's an advantage or disadvantage. -
No I'm not. The poster that keeps insisting on this (and several others from the now defunct bills message board) has some sort of unhealthy obsession with me for whatever reason. In fact if you pay attention to most of these former BBMB posters they bring nothing to the table except disruption and don't actually discuss the Bills or aspects of this team. Probably why Terry Pegula and Russ Brandon's new marketing lackey shut down the board anyway, or at least that's why I heard from some of my sources as to what factored into the decision. Either way I'm not whoever they claim and these folks are just looking for trouble. I'm a hardcore Bills fan (albeit a jaded, skeptical one) and here to discuss football.

Pick 6 by Mariota, talk about another disappointing QB/team just like the Bucs and Raiders. Good old Mularkey is probably out of a job if the Titans don't make the playoffs this year.

They need to win the next three games in a row...
SaviorPeterman replied to Another Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I could care less if the Bills got to 10 wins and made the playoffs by beating nothing but 3-13 type of teams, it's essentially what the Dolphins did last year. My point about the wins being diminished (against the Broncos/Falcons) is simply wishing for once we actually are beating very good teams. Still may prove to be the case when the dust settles because the Falcons would have to implode in a major way to not make the playoffs again or be better than .500 -
It's kinda crazy that the Colts could be tied for the division lead if they win this game without having Andrew Luck play a down yet this year. Our game against them later this year could have significant meaning, or it could just be a battle of teams looking ahead to 2018.

Not if the Bucs and/or Raiders go on a run and make the playoffs. Either way you take what you can get in this league. To quote Dick 'The Stiff' Jaraun, it's hard to win games in this league. -

This is my thought as well, I keep pointing to the magic 6-4 number. The Bills have never had that record or better through 10 games since the start of the drought in 2000. If we can somehow get there (or better) we might have a real shot, but I still think these next few weeks are the worst possible matchups for the Bills against two desperate teams that many had pegged as SB contenders in their respective conferences. -
This game isn't that exciting but this Brisset kid is stoic in the pocket and quite impressive. Certainly don't look like the guy we (narrowly) beat in Foxboro last year. Pats fans must be gizzing in their pants that The Hoodie continues to keep finding these type of players and can trade them for valuable assets.

You really do have to wonder what it would take to bench Taylor. Guarantee the booing from the fans will be deafening if we struggle this week and Taylor in particular isn't playing well again. Deep down I still believe we are inching close to the beginning of the Peterman era, possibly at halftime this week. -

Yes, we have not fared well against them historically. In fact I think our only win against them in the last 15+ years was at home so that's one positive I guess. -
Lose out might be a bit extreme, but this team's prospects certainly aren't good if they can't beat a 2-3 team with a terrible defense at home coming out of the bye.

I'll never understand how some people that frequent online forums can act so immature....like giddy school girls and stalkers quite frankly. No wonder the Pegula's shut down the official forum on the Bills website, too many crybabies and real trolls there quite frankly. All these baseless accusations are funny though and I'm not taking the bait. Let's talk some football for pete's sake! -
I really hope so, because if we can't move the ball against the 31st ranked defense (at home) we aren't going anywhere this year and truly might lose out..

No, but to quote one of my favorite movie lines...."Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in" I seriously considered walking away from this team for good but I'm a glutton for punishment. -

Even 2 out of 3 would be good and put us at 5-3 at the halfway point. But I agree that if this team is for real getting to 6-2 would look a heck of a lot better and be something this team hasn't done the last 17 years during the drought. -
No way it would happen against this secondary but he's more than capable of leading the Bucs to a win in Buffalo with talent they have on offense and fact the bills will once again likely struggle to get 14+ points.

That sinking feeling that the season will be over for all intents and purposes if we lose this game. The realization this team simply isn't that good and bound for an 18th straight year without the playoffs. Similar to the Jags london game in 2015, at miami last year, etc. Yes there were still many games left but you got the sense this team was already finished. -
Too bad it wasn't Brady that got hurt then the bills would have a real chance at the playoffs. Sucks that Rogers had to go down though, still think he is the 2nd best behind Brady.

Me too, at least when this team is still in contention so to speak. But if this team is out of the playoff picture again by Thanksgiving/early December at least my anxiety will be gone and I can relax again. But this game has me petrified because sadly we've seen this same script before. Hoping and praying things are different this year.
