Both Gaines and Clay have been ruled out for tomorrow. But with a mini bye week coming up before the saints there's a great chance we'll see both back in the lineup next week.

Expectations on next five games?
SaviorPeterman replied to TFBillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As for today here's my realistic expectations for not just the next 5 but rest of the season: Jets - W, I'm still very concerned and anxious over this game but the Bills are better and playoff teams win these type of games. A loss here would be very deflating especially after making a big in season trade for a play making WR. Saints - W, we aren't going 8-0 at home but I like the Bills to keep the home dominance going here especially with 10 days to prepare, this will be a very close game though and Saints will likely be riding a 6 game winning streak heading into this. @LAC - L, This will be somewhat of a letdown but I see the chargers being 4-5 heading into this game needing it badly and we simply do not play well against them and on the west coast despite the fact there will likely be a massive Bills contingent in the stands. @ Chiefs - W, Call it an upset but I think McD wins in his 2nd game against a former mentor this season. Chiefs defense is nowhere close to what they have been in years past and Bills are due to exorcise some demons against teams like the Chiefs that have dominated them in recent years. Patriots - L, Would love to see a win but my gut instinct tells me we are still a year away from seriously contending for the division. I don't see a blowout but Pats will likely do their usual thing against us and win somewhat convincingly down the stretch. Colts - W, Aside from the Jets, probably the only 'easy' game left based on the Colts record today. Only concern in this one is if Andrew Luck plays especially if the Colts are somehow still mathematically alive in a weak division. Dolphins - L, Gases team should be rolling by this time and I'm still uneasy about having to play so many big division games late in the season especially with Miami's defense. This will be a letdown for sure but we should be in great shape regardless. @ Patriots - L, pretty much same reason as the first matchup although we always seem to play better in Foxboro in recent years in terms of 'near wins'. Bills suffer first and only 2 day losing streak of the season. @ Dolphins - W, Bills will likely catch a break in this game if the Dolphins already have one of the WC spots clinched. Bills might already have the other too but I see them winning this one even if both teams aren't resting starters. We might even see Peterman in this game if it's meaningless for both teams. Final record: 10-6, #6 seed in AFC -
As Predicted, Brian Hoyer to the Patriots
SaviorPeterman replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Belichik is an evil genius but obviously he's made mistakes. The jury is still out on the Gilmore deal but early returns indicate it was a bad move especially since the Pats defense has looked great without him in recent weeks. One thing you have to remember though, Belichik isn't afraid of cutting ties and admitting failure so if Gilmore doesn't play better when he's healthy he'll simply be cut or traded in the offseason. -
As of right now I think the Jags are the best team in the AFCS by default and will win that division, possibly with just a 9-7 record. Which is good news for us because that means we get 5th rounder instead of a 6th. I guess I'm still puzzled why two disciplinarian types like St. Doug and Tom Coughlin would want Dareus in the first place but maybe they truly believe in the 'change of scenery' theory and see beyond Dareus antics and laziness. Obviously nobody has every questioned the guys talent and there's a reason why he was a top 5 draft pick. But given the ridiculous contact there has to be some accountability unless they plan on trying to force a restructure in the offseason with Dareus and his agent.

As Predicted, Brian Hoyer to the Patriots
SaviorPeterman replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He's like Fitzpatrick, a great option to get you through a game or two but obviously not a guy you want starting a 16+ game season for you. Hoyer is not terrible though and he led the Browns to their best season not too long ago under Mike Pettine (who should never have been fired for Hue Jackson in hindsight). -
As Predicted, Brian Hoyer to the Patriots
SaviorPeterman replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As a starter yes you can do much better, but he's a solid backup and Pats have a much different team than the 49ers who are going to be battling the Browns the rest of the season for the coveted #1 overall pick in next years draft. -

It's a shrewd move indeed SWAT. Hoyer is more than capable of running Josh McDaniels complex offense if needed but he's no Tom Brady obviously. -
Broncos Bench Trevor Siemian for Brock Osweiler
SaviorPeterman replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I honestly though Simeon was on his way to become a very good NFL starting QB, just goes to show the difference a few games can make because he was lights out the first two games of the season then the Buffalo game happened. Go figure. As for putting in Osweiler, they play the Pats at home in two weeks and he has a head to head victory against the Pats but that during their superbowl season a few years ago and this is a completely different team now. Brady and the Pats seem to struggle in Denver regardless. -

Belichek and the Pats certainly calculated this move perfectly. Best possible back up option they could get midway through the season after dumping Jimmy G. -
If this team makes the playoffs with Taylor not sure how they can move on from him unless Peterman is ready (I think he will be) and Taylor and his agent demand more money. Still think best case scenario is Taylor pans out for the Bills the rest of this year and 2018 and then we unleash the beast in 2019 since Peterman will have been developed properly unlike most QB's that have come through Buffalo through the years.

Opinion: Writing Is on the Wall - Cam Is Coming
SaviorPeterman replied to Gugny's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
While anything is possible I doubt Newton will end up in Buffalo. And if the Panthers were willing to move on from that would be very telling in itself because teams don't dump franchise QB's in their prime years. -
Dareus is nothing more than Haynseworth 2.0 I'm sure he'll be motivated to play well for the Jags, at least initially, but in the long run he'll revert back to the same player he's always been in Buffalo in terms inconsistent, lazy and a year long suspension waiting to happen. If St. Doug pushed for this move he's certainly putting his own ass on the line down in Jax but if they make the playoffs probably won't matter if Dareus flames out for them.

The Brownsiest Brownsing even for the Browns
SaviorPeterman replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As bad as it's been in Buffalo at times over the last 17 years, the Browns are the epitome of a true dumpster fire pro sports organization. So much for the moneyball garbage and pretty sure yet another full blown housecleaning is coming after this season since the current geniuses felt Wentz, Goff, Deshaun Watson, etc weren't the answer for them. -
Why did it take SO LONG to find this tandem?
SaviorPeterman replied to Steptide's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't think anybody believes Taylor is the long term answer in Buffalo, including McD/Beane but obviously they are rolling with him for now. In a perfect scenario they can stick with Taylor next year too and then unleash the beast in the form of Nathan Peterman who can develop properly as opposed to so many QB's in Buffalo that were thrown into the fire right away so to speak. -
The Pats Method of Winning is NOT Sustainable
SaviorPeterman replied to Jauronimo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Bill Belichik and Tom Brady are the process in New England. And when both are gone obviously the Pats reign is over. But it speaks volumes that they moved Jimmy G, so either Belichik don't believe he's the heir apparent after all or Brady is truly playing until he's 45+. -
Make the cuts to get the comp pick
SaviorPeterman replied to The juice's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
People have mentioned this (cutting and just resigning them) but pretty sure that's not how it works in terms of getting the comp pick. In any event I don't see it happening, I've been a Ducasse basher but his metrics have actually been decent in recent weeks according to PFF and he's certainly entrenched as the starting RG. Davis and Holmes have also been solid contributors, and now with Benjamin on board it opens things up for Holmes and the entire WR depth chart. We aren't cutting these guys. -
Why did it take SO LONG to find this tandem?
SaviorPeterman replied to Steptide's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Lets see how the last 9 games play out but at least on the surface it appears we have finally found the right combo of HC and GM to get this team back to the playoffs. But after 17 long years this franchise is long overdue for a return to greatness. -
I'm willing to bet that part of the reason Beane made this huge deal for Benjamin today is that they want to see what Taylor does the rest of the season with a full compliment of talent to work with, especially with Clay coming back in the next few weeks. So there will certainly be no more excuses and to his credit Taylor has been played as well as you can ask for the last two weeks at home especially orchestrating a comeback against the Bucs.

Does Benjamin play Thursday?
SaviorPeterman replied to The juice's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Of course I love this team. One interesting thing I noticed is that Benjamin has already played in 8 games this season since the Panthers haven't had their bye week yet. So if he plays this week and the rest of the season for the Bills that would be 17 total regular season games, wonder if that's happened before? -
Beane says no moves expected
SaviorPeterman replied to The juice's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Always concerned but this increases our chances of winning tough games in the 2nd half of the season significantly now that our offense is more dynamic. Teams have to account for real weapons now in Benjamin and Clay when he's back. -
Does Benjamin play Thursday?
SaviorPeterman replied to The juice's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Why not? Thompson was here less than a week and had 100 yard game against the Bucs. -
Make the cuts to get the comp pick
SaviorPeterman replied to The juice's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Holmes was great last week and one of the reasons we beat the Raiders. Ducasse is entrenched as the starting RG and Davis has been a solid rotation guy on the dline. In other words it's not happening. -
TRADE: Kelvin Benjamin to Buffalo
SaviorPeterman replied to Rubes's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No point in doing that now John, Holmes can still contribute. Also Davis and Vlad aren't going anywhere and they would also need to be cut. -
TRADE: Kelvin Benjamin to Buffalo
SaviorPeterman replied to Rubes's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We basically traded Darby + 7th round pick for Jordan Matthews and Benjamin. Throw in a healthy Charles Clay down the stretch and all of a sudden this offense becomes very potent. This also helps guys like Thompson and Zay Jones considering the attention that opposing defenses are going to have to give to this unit now. POWER MOVES baby!
