  1. Aside from making a playoff push, my theory on why Beane also pulled the trigger on the Benjamin trade is because he wants to see what Taylor can do with a full compliment off weapons to work with so he can properly be evaluated the rest of the season. And whether we go to the playoffs or not, obviously they'll closely evaluate the QB situation and decide to stick with Taylor, unleash the beast (Peterman) or possibly draft another QB.
  2. Nope somebody that can play LARGE like the guy we should have kept that was key to this offense last year and the perfect compliment to McCoy. Hoodie isn't even using Gillesslie much in recent weeks either because of his love affair with Dion Lewis.
  3. Hard core X's and O's my friend.
  4. Bashing Tyrod unrelentlessly does nothing at this point. We lost against the Jets in the trenches like all the times they dominated us years ago with Rex Ryan's teams. In fact last night was eerie shades of 2011 when the same jets came to Buffalo and dominated the us the last time we were 5-2. Went on to lose 7 in a row sadly. Now if Taylor isn't LARGE in theses next few games then it's time to start thinking QB change again, but for right now he's still the guy and we have to believe he'll continue to be LARGE with Benjamin and Clay in the lineup. Talk about two beasts that can get downfield and be physical.
  5. Yes, old school and smash mouth right through the gut of the defense. Karlos Williams had that ability but Tolbert cannot at this stage of his career.
  6. We need a guy that can actually run downhill and get yards in the middle of the defense and Tolbert rarely does that. Most of his runs are right into the gut of the defense for 2 or 3 yards. Too bad Karlos Williams flamed out so quickly, he was a big bodied back that did serious damage running downhill.
  7. Agree with this but it will still be a tough matchup regardless of what the Saints do on Sunday and they have the same Bucs team we beat a few weeks ago at home they likely will win.
  8. Jury is still out, I'm not going to pile on him because of last night. But if the wheels come off in the next few games he'll be part of the reason why. As for a real franchise QB, still think we have one developing on the bench right now but he's obviously not going to play this year unless Taylor gets hurt or is truly terrible in the next few games.
  9. Come on man stop trolling, let's be serious here. Bills can still make a run but no way we are winning out with such a brutal schedule left. As of right now looking like 4 guaranteed losses against the rest of the division. Belichik and Gase are licking their chops after seeing us get dominated in the trenches against the Jets.
  10. Yes but I have no interest in posting there or Finheaven, not many Bills fans posting there anyway these days. Regardless I only have time to discuss the Bills and could care less about the rest of the division right now. Actually it's a Nixon reference, was just being a wise ass with the thread title but AW is certainly rested and ready, probably more tanned too since Texas is hot.
  11. Advanced metrics have Clay as one of the best blocking TE's in the league.
  12. Wrong and they came back down 14 points to beat them a few weeks ago. People are in for a rude awakening when we play Miami and if they beat the Raiders this week they'll have the same record we do.
  13. Indeed, no team in NFL history has had 3+ turnovers on defense in every game including all time great defenses like the 86 Bears and 00 Ravens. This is why I think this defense is about to truly get abused in the coming weeks. They simply don't have the talent to stop teams when it matters, with or without the TO's.
  14. This offense has a chance to be LARGE down the stretch with a healthy Clay and Benjamin now in the mix. Key is Taylor morphing his game and becoming more like Alex Smith has this year in KC.
  15. I never said 8-0 at home isn't impossible, but it's improbable based on the way this team looks on the road and we simply aren't good enough. But in another post/thread I did say this could be one of those weird years we go 6-2 or 7-1 at home but only win 1 or 2 road games which might not be good enough for a playoff birth. Regardless this team has to play much better at home and on the road in the 2nd half of the season or it will be 2008/2011 all over again with the schedule that's left. And if we can't beat the Jets on the road we obviously aren't touching playoff teams like the Chiefs, Pats and Dolphins on their home fields.
  16. Speaking of Romo anybody catch late in the game during garbage time when he said it's probably a good thing Peterman wasn't playing so there's no QB controversy if he came in and led a few scoring drives? That's basically what Tyrod did anyway by keeping him in but we definitely risked injury by doing so in the process.
  17. They can but it won't be easy. Saints likely going to be riding 6 game winning streak heading into Buffalo and they aren't close to the teams we've beat at home so far who are all sub .500 at the moment.
  18. Yes but he wasn't obviously healthy at the time. Hearing he is now, or at least close to it. Smart move for AW would be to stay retired but if he really wants back in the game so to speak we'd be a decent fit. I don't want him starting but as a backup/rotation guy he be worth it.
  19. Carolina connection has to be the reason. He's definitely a leader and playing the role of grizzled veteran on this team but we are wasting valuable carries and tired of seeing him run right up the middle for 2 and 3 yard gains. Get McCoy a real change of pace back and perhaps this rushing attack will look more like it did under Roman/Lynn the last few years.
  20. In light of the defense trending in the wrong direction and getting it up last night by the Jets, especially the run defense, the concerns are mounting and we may need some reinforcements down the stretch. As most here probably know, former Bills starting safety Aaron Wiliams is still on the market, and word on the street is he is 100% healthy and was asking for too much money early on in free agency but now willing to sign for a more reasonable deal under the right circumstances. In fact a source of my in Texas told me recently he would be open to coming back to Buffalo. I'm paraphrasing but he told me: "Savior (not my real name obviously), I know you weren't a fan of AW but he loves what he's seeing in Buffalo and feels he could contribute there if brought back. If he comes back to the NFL Buffalo would be one of the few teams he would sign with. For the record, I was never a fan of him mostly because he could never stay healthy. But just like with Gaines, when healthy and in the lineup he was a decent option and was a thumper in run coverage. He can also play both safety and DB. Would be great if he could play against Miami and get redemption for the vicious hit that ended his season last year. What do you think, would you give him a look or do you believe that ship has sailed? He was released by Whaley and not Beane also FYI.
  21. At this point leaning towards St. Doug and Dareus because they have the easier path given their division.
  22. Sucks but now it's time to pick up a real back up RB and let him have the carries instead of Tolbert.
  23. Saints aren't the Raiders, Bucs, Broncos or Jets and superior to us on both sides of the ball. And we obviously aren't going 8-0 at home so all the ingredients are in place for the annual November/December meltdown to continue with this team. Bills will need to bounce back strong and play best game of the season just for a chance to win this game next week.
  24. Taylor was not the reason we lost last night and his play has been LARGE in recent weeks. But last night most of his production obviously came in garbage time. Would still like to see him take more chances early in games though but hopefully with Clay coming back and the addition of Benjamin that will happen.
  25. Just like with Dick 'The Corpse' Jaraun, Brady is going to systematically destroy this defense when faces them.
