Is every team with 3 losses doomed?
SaviorPeterman replied to DisplacedBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes we have struggled not just in Miami, but against the division period going 3-7 in the last 10 AFCE games. Before the Jets game I actually had us winning in Miami this year (after losing to them in Buffalo first) but only because they will likely have one of the WC spots wrapped up and will be resting starters. Still might be the case but the only difference this now is we'll likely be eliminated from playoff contention so the game will also likely be meaningless for us too. -
Our run defense has been smoke and mirrors and very misleading since most teams are able to pass the ball at will against us and the Jets simply stayed committed since they were manhandling us in the trenches. Problem with a team like the Saints though is they do both well and likely be able to set up some deadly play action passes downfield against us.

Ravens are a better team than the Jets, but like I said all along every playoff team typically has a bad loss or two along the way. Ravens were also one of the Dolphins 2 losses in their final 11 games last year after a 9-2 tear to finish the season and they were similarly blown out by them much like the game a few weeks ago. In the Bills case though the TNF loss was particularly concerning because it came against a division team that also swept us last year. And in a national TV game in which the Bills needed to play LARGE they came up very SMALL. Just not sure what to expect the rest of the way but at least we are going to be close to 100% healthy heading into the Saints game and stretch run here. -
Hate to see Jones season derailed after finally showing progress the last few weeks. Because he has a real chance to improve the rest of the way with Benjamin and Clay in the lineup.

Either your wrong or FO is, because ESPN and other sites have the Bills remaining schedule among the 5 toughest in the league. On paper alone we only play 2 teams the rest of the way that currently are under .500 (Chargers and Colts, and the former is obviously playing great football right now after 0-4 start). Jags and Titans are key teams to watch. Jags have very easy schedule left on paper and probably going to finish 11-5 or 10-6 at worse and i still think they are winning that division so the Titans are the team that should be of interest to the Bills. But their schedule is also much more difficult than the Jags thankfully. -
The Cap Dilemma in 2018

My thoughts on commentary on each all of these players: Kyle Williams DT 34 BUF TBD $7,433,333 UFA - I love KW and he's an all time Bills great but I believe this is more than likely his last season in Buffalo for a number of reasons Jordan Matthews WR 25 BUF TBD $1,237,317 UFA - Depends on what he and the offense show the rest of the way. 50/50 at this point and will depend on what money he's looking for Shareece Wright CB 30 BUF TBD $1,100,000 UFA - For pure depth I have no problem with keeping him but he's a terrible starter in most cases Brandon Tate WR 30 BUF TBD $1,010,000 UFA - Probably not coming back since we can find another returner in house or new FA/draft pick next year Mike Tolbert FB 31 BUF TBD $980,000 UFA - Despite the Carolina connection doubt he'll be on the team next year since RB is a need especially if McCoy is also let go/traded. Ramon Humber OLB 30 BUF TBD $900,000 UFA - No problem with him coming back as depth but we need to upgrade him in terms of starting Colt Anderson SS 32 BUF TBD $900,000 UFA - Probably not coming back Joe Webb QB 30 BUF TBD $900,000 UFA - Probably not coming back especially if we draft/sign/trade for another QB Leonard Johnson CB 27 BUF TBD $855,000 UFA - Fine with him for depth but we can probably do better Cedric Thornton DT 29 BUF TBD $775,000 UFA - He's not really a starter but no problem with him competing for depth Taiwan Jones RB 29 BUF TBD $775,000 UFA - Probably not coming back in light of season ending injury against Jets Shamarko Thomas SS 26 BUF TBD $775,000 UFA - Haven't really seen much of him but probably can do better Travaris Cadet RB 28 BUF TBD $775,000 UFA - Just got here and who knows if he'll even be on roster next week Deonte Thompson WR 28 BUF TBD $775,000 UFA - Definitely would resign if his continues to look good the rest of the season Preston Brown ILB 25 BUF TBD $751,438 UFA - I would move on from Brown and he's likely going to be looking to cash in FA Jerel Worthy DT 27 BUF TBD $600,000 UFA - Same as Thorton. E.J. Gaines CB 25 BUF TBD $581,918 UFA - Worried this guy is another Aaron Williams type but if he's not looking for huge money would certainly want to keep him Seantrel Henderson RT 25 BUF TBD $567,720 UFA - Still not sure he makes it to the end of the season without being released, likely won't be back regardless. -
Not sure I believe that after what the Jets did to us on the ground and this weak front four was manhandled even KW. And like years past, the defense has tailed off significantly in recent weeks after such a promising start to the season. Not having any semblance of a pass rush is killing this team right now and also why the run defense isn't so stout anymore all of a sudden.

Jameis Winston eating a W?
SaviorPeterman replied to TallskiWallski83's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He led the Bucs on a big time comeback against us just a few weeks ago they probably would have won if not for 3 turnovers. But yes biggest problem for Winston like most young franchise QB has been consistency and as a whole the Bucs have taken a major step back this year when most pundits thought they could be a SB caliber team in 2017 after what happened with them last year. -

I've rarely been wrong during my time here and have had no problems admitting so when wrong. But still not sure why some folks have an unhealthy obsession with the Dolphins other than they are hated division rival who swept us last year. Same reason we'll be lucky to split with them this year best case. So assuming we can win 1 game against the Dolphins still need at least 3 more for the playoffs and outside of the Colts (who are still playing decent despite their record and Brissett has been LARGE) not sure where we are getting them from. -

SaviorPeterman replied to DisplacedBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Almost is the key word, but we were thoroughly dominated by them which magnifies the gap between the Bills and Pats and guarantees another sweep by them over us this year. I didn't expect it but glad we got some help last night from the Raiders. Dolphins however are right were they were last year and still in the mix at 4-4. And remember last year they were 6-2 in the final 8 games (9-2 in final 11 overall after 1-4 start) and will likely make a similar run this year since advanced metrics are still on their side right now. -
If this team don't come out blazing in the first quarter I think it will be a blowout in the Saints favor and the game will be over by mid 3rd quarter like last week. In fact I believe we have only scored something like 6 points all season in the 1st quarter which is yet another reason this team is likely about to go in the wrong direction combined with the offense and defense metrics gradually getting worse each week.

Is every team with 3 losses doomed?
SaviorPeterman replied to DisplacedBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes because no way the Jets magically became a juggernaut and we were their first victim. And if so that also wouldn't bode well for our playoff chances if the jets are about to go on a Miami type of run and win 7 of their final 8 games because they would essentially leapfrog us in the standings. The Jets exposed this team in every way imaginable on the national stage setting this team up for another collapse considering what's left on the schedule starting this week against a Saints team riding a dominant 6 game win streak. Just can't see how we are winning more than a few games in the 2nd half if we couldn't win against the Bengals and Jets on the road. Next gen stats and metrics simply aren't trending in the Bills favor right now. -

Yes and it's why I nearly walked away for good this summer and probably should have. But what can a man do? And if I've survived the last 17 years I can last a few more but it's certainly taking a toll on my health and well being. The only thing I'm looking forward to now is seeing Peterman play because I do think he can be a franchise QB in this league so hopefully he'll be our starter next year if this team crashes and burns with Taylor the rest of this season and sadly good chance that's going to happen. -
First coach fired is going to be......

Ironically Mike Pettine is one of the few to have success there in recent years and they dumped him for Hue Jackson. -
Saints might smoke us Sunday
SaviorPeterman replied to The juice's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Saints only 2 losses this year were against the 6-2 Vikings in the MNF opener and the following week at home against the 6-2 Patriots coming off their TNF opening loss against the Chiefs. Yes the Bills are still 5-3 but nowhere close to these two team that handed them their only losses. -

Hue Jackson has been a disaster as HC in Cleveland but most were going to fail there regardless. I would love to see us fire Dennison and replace him with Jackson who has always been a strong and aggressive OC. -
It's time to move on from Woods and Watkins, they aren't coming back to this team and even if they were still here would make little difference the way the oline has struggled this year.

Bills Chargers Most Important of next 4 games
SaviorPeterman replied to corta765's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He's not in his prime anymore but certainly still capable of shredding a defense like the Bills with surgical precision. Either way this year's Chargers team is playing great football after a very tough 0-4 start when they could've and should've won just about all of those contests. And three of them were against playoff contenders to boot. If we can't win on the road against the Jets and Bengals we certainly aren't going to the west coast and winning against the Chargers regardless of their half assed home field advantage this year. -

SaviorPeterman replied to DisplacedBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes if we beat the Saints I'll definitely believe the playoffs are a realistic possibility again and the Jets game was just one of those flukey games. And for us it certainly won't be a fluke considering the Saints record vs. all the other teams we've beat up on at home. Just not sure I can see it happening and the Jets game took so much out of me. -
How much impact will Benjamin have Sunday?
SaviorPeterman replied to JM2009's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Any hope we have of winning this game this week or even keeping it close for that matter will rely on the usual formula of getting McCoy going for long sustained drives on offense, limiting the Saints to FG's instead of TD's and presumably getting a few turnovers. But even with all that it probably won't be enough against a well oiled machine with a very shrewd coach like Sean Payton who knows how to exploit a teams weakness. -
Jameis Winston eating a W?
SaviorPeterman replied to TallskiWallski83's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Winston is a great QB but seems to be not right in the head. I'd still take him in Buffalo though as our starter any day.
