  1. Never underestimate The Hoodie.....31 other NFL teams are playing checkers and he's playing chess as always. Hate seeing the Pats make power moves like this but Bennett was great in their offense last year and had one of the best seasons of his career. No doubt will be a huge weapon for Brady again down the stretch.
  2. I get your thoughts on this, but obviously this team needed bodies to replace players lost to FA or not resigned. And this before Beane and McD's roster purge that opened up even more holes and roster spots. Bottom line, we are arguing over a 3rd round pick (at the very end of the round where the comps are anyway) and given the assets we already have it's a moot point even after the Benjamin trade we are still in great shape. Need to stay the course and let Beane play 4D chess and continue to make moves, still a good chance we trade Glenn in the offseason and at the very least can get a 3rd rounder for him.
  3. Good to know, but that wasn't initially posted hence my concern. No need to freak out. We definitely have a shot but this is a true separation sunday matchup and the better team almost always wins regardless of venue. And the better team is certainly the Saints in just about every area including coaching, QB, defense, running game, etc.
  4. I agree with this one for most part except in the AFC I would swap out the Titans for Dolphins, and Bills for Titans/Chargers/Raiders. Also yes the Rams have played great and could very well make the SB but Hoodie would do what he always does and make an offense like that look terrible. Pats are likely repeating regardless of who they play in the SB.
  5. Yikes, this is definitely not the week we want to be down 2 starting especially on the left side which has been the only bright spot this year. Hopefully Incognito can play on Sunday but not an encouraging sign especially with 10 days off before the game.
  6. Doesn't look good for Glenn on Sunday and this oline had their two best games of the season against the Bucs and Raiders with him playing. All the stars are certainly aligning for another disappointment on Sunday but still don't think we were going to beat the Saints anyway even at full strength.
  7. The point is you cutting guys who have been contributors for a 3rd round pick that we might be lucky to simply land a player like one of the 3 we cut. Not like it's the norm to quality starters beyond the 2nd round in this league. You also basically tell the locker room we are packing it in and looking ahead to next year especially if we have another ugly loss against the Saints. That's probably going to be the case anyway if this happens but you don't overtly tell the fans and team that by cutting multiple players that have worked hard and contributed.
  8. It's just being realistic and rational about the situation. This team has certainly played well and accomplished some good things so far this year, but most of it is a bi-product of an extremely weak 1st half schedule in hindsight looking at the records of the teams we've beat. And still think if this team was a real playoff contender they would be as good as 7-1 right now and certainly capable of beating the Jets last week and Bengals. I also hope I'm wrong but my intuition and gut instinct sees another epic collapse coming because just like in years past, this team has peaked and won't be able to play any better than they have in the 2nd half of the season when real contenders separate themselves. Not saying every game the rest of the way will be against the Jets, the main difference is we won't be able to win the close games we did against weaker competition. Instead the better teams left on the schedule will put us away and win the tight games.
  9. Even if we lose to the Saints as most expect, cutting these players sends the wrong message and directly contradicts big trade for Benjamin midseason. So don't see it happening if this team truly believes they have a shot this year and even with an impending loss to the Saints they are still mathematically alive for the last WC spot.
  10. Bills aren't good enough to make a statement against the Saints unless you consider a possible 1 or 3 point upset win a statement. Either way this will be the toughest game of the season and the only advantage we have is playing at home.
  11. Unfortunately this is looking like the case. Another grand deception so to speak because we beat some teams early in the season who were very good last year (i.e. Falcons, Raiders) but not so much this year. Saints game will tell the true story though, if we beat them then we might just be ahead of schedule and in the playoffs this year. But if we lose (blowout or close) then you'll see another 2011 situation especially with the upcoming schedule and we are on to the 2018 draft by mid December.
  12. Possible 4-D chess move in play for Beane. We were interested in him and he'd be a massive upgrade over Wright, possibly Gaines to since the guy can't stay on the field
  13. Washington would have made a beastly sack against the Jets if not for the stupid and unnecessary facemask. Either way we need somebody in the front seven to emerge from the scrapheap in the 2nd half of the season or we certainly aren't going anywhere.
  14. I'm concerned with these type of threads but OP has a point. This team needs to man up and play LARGE or they are going to be viewed as a soft team going forward.
  15. Don't be surprised if Hoodie picks him up and he plays great for the Patriots again the rest of the season. In fact he was a key piece of the offense there last year. 4-D Chess move no doubt in the works.
  16. I've said for some time we should have unloaded him and pretty sure Beane and McD tried. Either way it's pretty concerning that Glenn can't stay healthy and he's coming off one of the worse games of his career against the Jets. Hopefully we can get something worthwhile for in the offseason.
  17. Not sure why people think this and quite frankly I wasn't even going to respond to the thread but since I was essentially called out with a large piece of red meat so to speak I couldn't resist. I know the Fish are a hated rival and I revel in their past failures as much as any Bills fan. But the sad reality is Gase and Tannebaum turned them around very quickly (another reason Bills fans should be envious given our own failures). And even if we were 7-1 right now and dominating teams I'd still be weary of the Dolphins for the aforementioned reasons. Either way it's time to move on and worry about the task at hand. Can't worry about the Dolphins until December and can only monitor them from afar. Good news is they've lost two games in a row though.
  18. Funny but no. Rodak seems to love to pounce on this team though and I've heard rumors for years he's secretly a Patriots fan and Brady ballwasher.
  19. It's not too early but if the Bills can find a way to win a few games before December we'll likely be jockeying for the final WC spot with a handful of other teams (I still think Miami will get the other).
  20. Cutler has emerged from the scrapheap and is having a decent season for the fish this year. Also they just got Devante Parker back from injury and he made an insane grab in that game, should be a boost for them down the stretch regardless. Also watch out for Kenyan Drake as well who is a dual threat at RB and part of the reason they dumped Ajay from what I've heard. Believe me I wish I was wrong about the Dolphins but my gut instinct tells me they are going to be LARGE down the stretch like last year sadly. And I was not a believer in them last year but they just kept winning football games including sweeping the Bills.
  21. I think they'll beat us in Buffalo sadly, also wins against the Pats at home, Bucs, Broncos so that's 8 wins there. And with the remaining four they need will probably need to find 2 wins between: @ CAR, @ NE, @ KC and home against us in the finale. Certainly doable especially since the toughest one will be in NE of course. Regardless no way I'm underestimating the Dolphins again this year, Gase and Tannenbaum are building a very solid program in south beach and can only hope McD/Beane follow a similar blueprint.
  22. Go to NFL.com and search team stats, they are currently #10 overall on defense in terms of yards allowed per game. Also they are still in favorable position according to PFF's advanced metrics. Dolphins have all the ingredients to make a serious run in the 2nd half of the season and it's very concerning that Jay Cutler is coming off his best game of the season, albeit in a loss, because their offense was red hot last year in the 2nd half after a similar slow start.
  23. I think a lot of folks still aren't understanding that this roster is very devoid of game changing talent and depth which is why McD does deserve credit for doing yeoman's work with the roster as is. Now obviously a guy like Kelvin Benjamin (and Clay coming back) will help to a certain degree. But we can't change the offensive line or solve the many issues we have in the front seven until FA and the draft. Bottom line is the Jets exposed some fatal flaws that were masked earlier in the season but will now come full circle down the stretch playing serious contenders like the Chiefs, Saints, Pats and Dolphins twice each that will no doubt lead to similar performances like TNF.
  24. I strongly disagree and the Dolphins have many next gen stats and metrics trending in their favor. Right now they are still a top 10 defense right at #10 overall and offensively in the same boat as the Bills more or less. Also consider that Saints shut out Miami when they played them which could be telling in terms of what to expect this Bills offense to do against them on Sunday.
  25. You guys are funny but I'm not taking the bait. And this board seems to have a very healthy obsession with Miami for some reason. Look the Dolphins swept us last year just like the Jets and we barely beat them at home and got throttled by them in NY the other night. What should that tell you about a Dolphins team that is significantly better than the Jets especially on defense? Also as I pointed out several times before, last year the Dolphins started 1-4 and won 9 of 11 with their only losses coming against the Pats at home and at Baltimore (where they were spanked like this years game). So even though they are 4-4 this year and in the same spot after 8 games, they are certainly trending more positively after not starting the season like last year. If the Dolphins don't make the playoffs I'll certainly admit I'm wrong. Also still think spitting with them is best case scenario this year. Gase's team will be playing their best football of the season when we play them twice in Dec and Bills could be in the midst of an epic meltdown by then. If both teams are in thick of the playoff race saying these games loom LARGE is an understatement.
