  1. Yep sadly the Saints are better across the board including coaching. Payton is still of the best of the game (from the old school Parcells coaching tree like Belichik) and there's a reason why the Saints haven't moved on from him despite some down season for the Saints in recent years. If Taylor is willing to take chances and throw the ball up in the air so Benjamin can get it we could possibly make Lattimore look like a rookie. However I don't see it simply because Taylor doesn't take chance until the game is on the line or garbage time.
  2. While the metrics on the Saints are impressive (particularly their rushing and overall offense) it's not like they are crushing teams week after week during this current 6 game run. However what stands out to me is they are only the 3rd team in NFL history to start 6-2 after an 0-2 start, and the last two went on to win the SB (1993 Cowboys and 2007 Giants). I think if the Bills play their style of game they'll have a chance, but that means a big day from McCoy, no TO's and the defense forcing a few. Bills also have to figure out a way to come out and score points early. If we fall behind 10-0 or 14-0 early we'll certainly get blown off the field and this won't be close.
  3. I'm pretty sure we were 5-4 both in 2014 and 2015. Also in 2002, 2008 and 2011 after 5-3 starts we lost the next game.
  4. Yes even with an upset over the Saints the game in LA against the Chargers is not going to easy especially when you consider the west coast trip and the fact the Bills have been blown out in every game there during Rivers career. In fact our only win ever against Rivers was the blackout game in Buffalo in 2008 when SD had a down season. Also if the Chargers can win in Jax on Sunday coming out of their bye it sets up a massively huge game for them against the Bills next week with a chance to get to .500 I just hate how this schedule sets up for the Bills down the stretch, no game is going to be easy quite frankly.
  5. I did not see this posted anywhere but thought it was a very interesting metric worth studying. Yes Taylor isn't on here in terms of the best or worse, but the main reason I think it's important is looking ahead to some of the QB's we have yet to face that are on there including Brees, Rivers, Brady & Alex Smith. In terms of the ones we've already faced, we've beat Ryan and Winston who are among the best. But we've lost to Newton and Dalton on the road who are among the worst and ironically both of them made plays against this defense in the 4th quarter to win the game despite their low ratings/metrics. Which is obviously concerning in itself but we all know this simply isn't a good road team this year.
  6. Yep, and that game probably was the difference in finishing 10-6 and making the playoffs regardless of the debacle in Oakland late in the season.
  7. We missed another key milestone last week in getting to 6-2 for the first time since 1993 (last superbowl season), but this week we have a shot with a upset over the Saints to move to 6-3 for the first time since our last playoff season in 1999. Another key metric to keep in mind that I've pointed out before is the Bills have never been 6-4 or better since the first year of the drought in 2000, so even if Bills lose this week they could still win in LA next week to ensure they avoid the dreaded 5-5 mark. Either way the next few weeks loom LARGE for this franchise in terms of exorcising some demons.
  8. Like another poster pointed out, just because somebodies thoughts don't jive with yours doesn't mean they are a 'troll'. But sadly people love to throw this team out loosely nowadays because it's an easy way to distract from the facts when they simply are wrong can't dispute factual statements. And speaking of facts, I tend to use these when making my arguments including and not limited to: -The Bills have not made the playoffs in 17 years -The Patriots have dominated the AFCE and NFL since 2001 -The Bills are 3-7 in their last 10 division games -The Dolphins who everybody argues is an apparent non factor this year swept the Bills last year and finished 9-2 after a 1-4 start to the season. I could go on and on but the point is I'm bringing legit football discussion to the table and never have resorted to petty personal attacks on fellow community members like so many have against me.
  9. I agree, and aside from the 4-D chess moves Hoodie has been playing you really have to wonder about some backdoor shenanigans with this. Almost like Bennett and the Pats colluded on this to fake an injury and force his way out of GB so everybody thought he was injured and the Pats could swoop in and get him on waivers. And given the Pats history of shady dealings the league would be forced to investigate this especially if Bennett magically plays great down the stretch with the Pats.
  10. Indeed John, if we can find a way to upset the Saints and win next week in LA (with a lot of Bills mafia likely in attendance) then I'm definitely on the playoff bandwagon. 7-3 heading into the final 6 games would truly build some momentum again with 4 games left against the Pats and Dolphins.
  11. Amazing what a few in season additions like Benjamin and Thompson can do. I still think though that part of the reason Beane and McD made this move is so they can truly evaluate Taylor down the stretch and determine whether or not he'll be back in Buffalo next year. Because if this offense continues to struggle and post the same type of numbers in the passing game then you have to take a hard look at the QB situation and realize it's simply not working.
  12. Not sure I would worry about the Ravens, I know their schedule on paper appears to be soft but they have been wildly inconsistent on both sides of the ball and Flacco is definitely on the downswing of his career. Best case for them is probably 9-7 even if they improve significantly down the stretch but I would lean more towards 7-9 or 8-8 because they will lose against some teams that aren't that good. I think the real threats to worry about are still OAK (who we have tiebreaker over), LAC (who we play next week), the Dolphins (who I still think are going to make a big 2nd half push like last year and get in) and the loser of the AFC South (Jax or Ten - I still think Jax wins the division though). Regardless this is all assuming the Bills are even going to be a factor down the stretch and still think their fate is essentially on the line the next few weeks given the upcoming schedule that could bury this team if they can't find a way to win a few of these games.
  13. You have to give credit to Beane and McD for completely reshaping the WR corps and secondary in just one year. Next up is obviously the trenches, especially the front seven which McD will no doubt mold in his image.
  14. Word on the street is that Miami also wanted him but didn't want to be on the hook for his contract and assumed he would clear waivers.
  15. This is a typical NE move adding a player like this. And wouldn't be surprised if Bennett isn't exactly as injured as he's led on. Likely a strategic move from the start like how the Pats were able to land Hoyer again after trading Jimmy G.
  16. Why on earth would I spend so much time posting here if I was a fan of another team? What little free time I have is precious given family and work commitments. I understand my hard hitting commentary isn't always positive, but why should it be after 17 straight years of failure? And at least the moderators of this great forum aren't operating under strict guidelines from Russ Brandon to ban anybody not drinking One Bills Drive flavored koolaid. Either way time to put these BBMB rumors to rest just like that now defunct forum. I'm a hardcore Bills fan and that's my game, LARGE and all.
  17. I saw this rumor circulating on social media too. Only problem is why did we play so good against the Raiders? Remember Dareus was traded before that game. Either way Dareus is likely in a better situation being close to home and still think the Jags are a legit dark horse SB caliber team with that defense and running game. But just like everybody else in the AFC not sure they have much shot winning a playoff game in Foxboro.
  18. Not hardly. You have to admit that Pats made a POWER move picking up Bennett and wouldn't be surprised if he's not as hurt as he's led on. Watch him look great with the Pats down the stretch which is exactly what Hoodie and Brady are likely banking on.
  19. I don't remember hearing about this and pretty sure we would not have given up a 3rd rounder for a guy who pulled that type of stunt. And if true no wonder the Panthers were eager to part ways with Benjamin.
  20. I remember watching what the Saints did in Carolina right after our game against them when we mustered 3 total points. At first I thought the Panthers defense might not be that great after all but in hindsight they certainly have been very good considering how great the Saints have also been in recent weeks. Saints also shut out the Dolphins 20-0 on the road (even though it was not a true home game for the Dolphins) which was very impressive against a playoff team. This is why I'm truly concerned at what they are going to do to a team like the Bills who have been plagued with very consistent play on offense all year, especially when it comes to the oline, QB and rushing attack.
  21. Hatred is a pretty strong word, frustrated and disappointed would be more appropriate. Also no hatred towards Bills mafia or the Italian mafia since that's my heritage.
  22. While you can never say never, I don't think the Ravens are good enough to win out or even win 6 of their final 7. Flacco isn't the same QB anymore and their defense is very inconsistent. They will certainly lose in Pitt and pretty sure Lions are good enough to win in Baltimore. Won't be surprised if GB beat them at home this week too.
  23. Hard to disagree with this looking at how bad most of the teams are that we've beat combined with a couple losses against teams like the Jets and Bengals that I still think are on their way to top 10 draft picks when it's all said and done. But yes the main reason we are a certain pretender is that we aren't a good road team and if we couldn't beat the aforementioned teams on the road we certainly aren't winning in NE, Mia, LAC and KC.
  24. In some ways yes this is exactly what happens especially during transition years like this one where Beane and McD are working with a roster that is still devoid of talent in a lot of areas. Biggest problem is most our core players are guys that simply don't know how to win because they have never been to the playoffs, especially the core vets on this team that have been around for a while like Wood, Glenn, Incognito, Preston Brown, Kyle Williams etc. The true test for McD and his staff is whether or not this team plays better down the stretch. Because even with the holes and lack of depth we have we can still make a playoff push if the coaching holds firm. After all isn't this what the process is all about that McD's preaching?
  25. Called this yesterday and saw it coming miles away, 4-D chess alive and well in Boston.
