The Last 5-4 Team to Sit a Vet for a Rookie?
SaviorPeterman replied to BisonMan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not necessarily the best example since Manning was the #1 overall draft pick that year, but certainly was a bold move since Warner was an established vet and former SB winning QB that was benched. I think a better example would be a team like the 2006 Cowboys who were 3-2 and benched Bledsoe for Tony Romo that year. In recent Bills history certainly benching Manuel in 2014 after a 2-2 start was similar as well. Either way the move had to happen and we can only hope it rejuvenates this team and we can still make a late playoff push. If not we are obviously drafting a 1st round QB next year. -
Predicting remaining record with Peterman vs. Tyrod
SaviorPeterman replied to zow2's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think part of the reason this move happened now is because we are going up against a 3-6 team this week who has a middle of the pack defense statistically and no true home field advantage right now. There will no doubt be a large contingent of bills mafia in LA's crappy stadium on Sunday so all the ingredients are there for NP to get off to a decent start and build momentum. Either way i'm glad NP isn't making his first start at Arrowhead or the next home game against Hoodie and Brady who have never lost to a rookie QB (although they should have earlier this year against Deshwan Watson). -
if he plays great down the stretch and we finish 5-2 with some big wins along the way against a tough schedule that means we likely get into the playoffs. Don't think anybody will be looking to replace NP if he takes us where we haven't been in 17 years. But I'll say this, as much as I believe deep down NP could be that guy, we should still double down and draft another QB next year. But based on what NP does it might dictate whether it's a top 10 draft pick or another mid round guy. Either way we'll need another guy because Taylor is long gone from buffalo after the season is over and heaven forbid we end up in a situation with 2 good young QB's on the roster after years of not having one.

Ringing endorsements from national media
SaviorPeterman replied to Billsfan1972's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's amazing that some of these so called experts and pundits truly believe Taylor is a top QB in this league or something. Funny thing is some of these guys also said Peterman should have been drafted much higher and could be a steal where we got him. You can't have it both ways and if Peterman turns this offense and team around they will all be jumping on the bandwagon and boast about how it was in fact the right move all along. -
D&C'S MAIORANA: Clock Is Ticking On Dennison
SaviorPeterman replied to OldTimeAFLGuy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I definitely don't disagree with this and believe this is also a major reason why a QB change was made to see if a OC change also needs to happen in the offseason. No doubt Dennison has been hammering McD for weeks that Taylor simply isn't a fit for what he wants to do. -
Predicting remaining record with Peterman vs. Tyrod
SaviorPeterman replied to zow2's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If we can win against the Chargers this weekend and NP is a major factor why I think we can certainly compete with the Dolphins and win at least one of those games and also possibly steal one we aren't supposed to win (i.e. @ KC). I think at worse though this team needs to hit 9 wins just to have a shot at the tourney and NP could become a legend if we sneak into the playoffs and make a run. -
BB - I'm not here to thump my chest or say I told you so to anybody. But for weeks people have labeled me a troll and referenced the word schtick like you have when I said all along this move was coming and that Peterman is the better QB on this roster. This was based not only on my own football intuition and observations, but from common sense and a myriad of other factors. You can also find a lot of pre and post draft information citing this move as a potential steal for the Bills and another Dak Prescott situation. Regardless of my prognostications, I'm well away that there will be bumps in the road and while I'm not as down on this team as I was a few days ago when Taylor was presumably entrenched as the starter, I fully realize this season may still go up in flames because of the lack of talent (particularly on defense) that has been exposed in recent weeks. This is also why we needed a guy that can move the ball downfield and score points if we have any faint glimmer of hope of the playoffs and Taylor isn't that guy. But give credit to this new regime for not sticking with the status quo and choosing to go up in flames with their own guy as opposed to the one that failed 2 years in a row by the previous regime that brought him here. They didn't do this because of fans like me clamoring for a QB change on an online forum, they did this because they fully know Peterman is beyond his years and pro ready and simply the best option they have to win. After all McD said himself this team should be better than 5-4 and that's a direct indictment on the poor QB play thus far.

This is why Tyrod was benched
SaviorPeterman replied to essential's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Bottom line when your starting QB is checking down on 3rd and long to a FB when trailing by 3+ scores he's telling you he don't care (or is simply afraid and wants off the field). And I'm sure this is one of many things pointed out to Taylor by McD and Dennison if he truly is questioning why he's being benched. -
The Leaks Have Ended
SaviorPeterman replied to Mike in Horseheads's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Actually did the leaks really end? See this post from Nathan Peterman himself on Monday, also keeping in mind he barely posts on twitter: https://twitter.com/NatePeterman So if NP didn't know about this on Monday then perhaps there was some divine intervention in the works to alter the fate of this entire franchise? Makes you think.... -
5-4 team that is still in the #6 spot by default because the rest of the AFC is trash. McD and Beane had to do this knowing this season is on the verge of a bigger trainwreck than 2011. But in reality they did this because they have a steal on the bench, on that has been getting better and better in practice each week and simply the better QB on the roster. They are also smart enough to understand the only chance this team has is to score points given the glaring deficientcies and holes on the defense.
-
I've been saying for weeks that if McD, Beane, Dennison, etc have any clue what they are doing they will look at the game film of Taylor and see nothing more than Trent Edwards with mobility. A guy who posts solid 'metrics' if anything because all he does is check down to RB's (or in this case a worthless over the hill FB like Tolbert), make wildly inaccurate throws and purposely overthrown deep balls and end zone passes because he's petrified to make a turnover. Also for all the pundits and critics actually defending Taylor, guess they still don't understand he leads the NFL in 3 and outs and the defense is gassed from constantly being on the field because our former starting QB can't and won't throw the football unless a guy is running wide open down the field. Furthermore my sources have been hammering me for weeks saying Peterman is a steal and should have been drafted in the late 1st/early 2nd round range and we landed a steal. NP has all the intangibles and the big knock on him is arm strength which can be fixed and he's showed plenty playing in a cold weather environment at Pitt. Either way the wait is finally over.

Peterman Starting... Who was right (poll)?
SaviorPeterman replied to Paulus's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We are about 9 weeks late with this move but thank god there is a god and we have a real chance at the playoffs after all. Either way we should all be happy that the Tyrod Taylor experiment is over. -
Who else is looking for SaviorPeterman?
SaviorPeterman replied to sullim4's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thanks for the concern fellas, figures this happens the week I'm out of pocket for work commitments. Obviously I'm as giddy as a school girl right now and not going to boast with the told you so stuff but it was only a matter of time before this beast was unleashed. Sources told me after the Saints game they thought this was going to happen but probably not until halftime of Chargers at the earliest. Either way I was hearing Peterman had been looking great in practice and outshining Taylor for some time and Bills couldn't sit idly by with a QB playing scared and not looking anywhere near the WR's directions any longer. Taylor experiement was ending soon one way or other. Not sure what exactly will happen in NP's first start this weekend but don't be shocked if he goes for 300+ and this offense looks LARGE. Oline will look better and defense will be rejuvenated knowing they have a guy that will take chances and try to score if they do their part. -
Last night like many times before I awoke in a cold sweat in the middle of the night after having visions of a franchise QB. He rode into Buffalo like wild stallion. Moxie, confidence, poise and command of the huddle. A follower of Christ and legendary college QB handing Clemson their only loss of regular season. His name was Nathan Peterman and on a cold December day in Buffalo he leads a heroic comeback down 17 points to the Patriots, throwing the game winning TD pass with seconds left on the clock as the Bills Mafia erupts yelling "Peter-man! Peter-man! Peter-man!" But alas that's where my vision ends as reality settled in and I realized Taylor was still the starting QB for now. 17 straight years will soon turn into 18 years and the Bills are destined for another epic collapse and 2011 type of finish. Fast forward later in the day and I saw 'breaking news' on the NFL ticker and social media exploded with news of a QB change in Buffalo. I had to again pinch myself and question whether or not dreaming or awake. Can this really be happening, have Bills fans desperate for change prayers finally been answered? And here we are. The day I knew was coming and all of a sudden the Bills playoff outlook is real once again. A bold, yet necessary, move was made by a regime that truly isn't going to settle for mediocrity any more. No more letting a QB play scared and checking down a FB on 3rd and long and missing WR's running wide open time after time again just of the sake pf playing alleged 'safe' and 'smart' football. And speaking of Peterman, perhaps he himself foreshadowed this just two days ago on his twitter account (which isn't very active so the time and date of this post is very telling): https://twitter.com/NatePeterman Mark this down, today is the day that the entire fate of the Buffalo Bills franchise was forever altered. It may not be as monumental as the day Mo Lewis knocked Drew Bledsoe out of a game in New England to usher in the Tom Brady era. But the Bills very well may be on to ending a 17 year drought behind a young gunslinger and I guarantee this entire team will look different in the coming weeks. People will say, where on earth did this passing game come from? Who would have thought Buffalo does have NFL WR's on their roster? The defense suddenly is inspired behind their dynamic new leader on the other side of the ball that says 'Fellas, make a stop for me and we'll get the ball back and win the game". Bottom line, this move was L.A.R.G.E. and no matter what happens in LA on Sunday the future should be much brighter with a real NFL QB behind center. Once again just when I thought I was out, the Bills have pulled me back in....

No surprise here and this jives with what my sources have also been saying for some time both about Taylor and Peterman. It doesn't take a genius to figure out Taylor has plateaued and teams will continue to exploit the many flaws that are apparent when you study the game film. Whether it's the happy feet in the pocket, terrible inaccuracy and just plain bad mechanics that simply can't be corrected. Only a matter of time before we see Peterman starting and this offense (and entire team) will be rejuvenated and look totally different. Mark my words and yes I can't wait to say I TOLD YOU SO for those that have doubted the Peterman hype vehicle and potential stud franchise QB we stole in 5th round.

Bills defense since week 5 among worst in NFL
SaviorPeterman replied to SaviorPeterman's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The warning signs were there for a while and I tried telling folks this defense was a fraud especially after we couldn't even beat a terrible Bengals team on the road with 3 turnovers. And I was certainly convinced after the bye week against a terrible Bucs team at home we also needed 4 TO's to barely win. Patriots games will certainly be ugly, as will the next two on the road in LA/KC and still think the Dolphins are going to smash this team twice too as they play good enough to make the playoffs. Colts game will be the 2011 version of the Broncos game and the obligatory meaningless late season win common in Buffalo. -
Bills D has quit on the fans
SaviorPeterman replied to Norwood for Wall of Fame's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's almost like there is a magic switch that turns the entire team into trash when the calendar turns to Novmeber. Regardless of whether or not the defense has quit, it's pretty clear we are in need of a complete overhaul of the front seven. KW is finished and obviously not going to be back next year. I think Preston Brown is a FA but wouldn't resign him for the vet minimum at this point. Both Alexander and Humber are simply aging vets whose feel good stories are over. Jerry Hughes has probably been the biggest disappointment of all though and for all the talk he needed to be back in the 4-3 to flourish that's out the window since he's done absolutely nothing since the first month of the season. -
Bills defense since week 5 among worst in NFL
SaviorPeterman replied to SaviorPeterman's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No it's not good at all especially since we fired Rex Ryan for the same garbage we're seeing in recent weeks. In fact McD's teams look worse than Ryan's in recent weeks especially with the undisciplined ugly penalties mounting at an astronomical rate. So much for execution and 'The Process'. -
Bills defense since week 5 among worst in NFL
SaviorPeterman replied to SaviorPeterman's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
A lot of these fools are trying to strip the ball and go for a turnover instead of making fundamental tackles. But that's obviously on McD and Frazier. Either way I could care less about trying to get 3+ TO's in every game, especially since the last time we did it on the road we still lost the game in Cincy. -
Yes and Bosa is a monster and going to abuse Mills, Glenn or whoever he's lined up against. Chargers should have beat a very good Jags team on the road and will be out for blood against a battered Bills team. If Taylor has another terrible 1st half performance and we are losing can't imagine a scenario in which we don't go to Peterman at halftime.

Bills defense since week 5 among worst in NFL
SaviorPeterman replied to SaviorPeterman's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Dareus is a red herring and excuse. And having him yesterday would have done very little to slow down the Saints freight train that hit this team. And I've said ever since the Bengals game this defense is a fraud and has only looked good because of the turnovers. Biggest concern right now is why this defense has self destructed midseason under another self proclaimed defensive genius and guru. Somewhere Rex Ryan is laughing his ass while he's still getting paid by the Pegulas in the near future. -
11-13: McDermott and Coordinator Pressers
SaviorPeterman replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It truly is and this team won't be going anywhere with him as the HC. Remember Doug Whaley (who I was never a fan of) wanted Taylor gone and McD overrided that decision. And all of a sudden with a defense looking worse than Rex Ryan's this guy appears to be in over his head big time.
