Does anyone else feel numb to this?
SaviorPeterman replied to TonyBeets's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I was before the season started, in fact as I mentioned before I was prepared to walk away from this team for good. But after we drafted NP combined with watching him in preseason and the fast start I truly believed this franchise was heading in the right direction. This latest collapse though is very painful, makes me truly feel empty as a Bills fan and sadly the worst is yet to come especially as we purge the roster and truly enter a full blown rebuild that this team won't be able to fool the fanbase with. -
Who starts next week: Taylor or Peterman?
SaviorPeterman replied to SDS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think this team will start Taylor this week in a last ditch effort to try to patch a leak on the Titanic. KC is in a similar free fall as of late and their defense is the worst in the NFL in yards allowed (even though they aren't giving up 40+ points a game and losing by large margins like the Bills). So it's somewhat of a 'winnable' game although I still have serious concerns and doubts the Bills are going to win another game this year no matter who is starting at QB and who the opponent is. Chargers were certainly better then their record but had no business winning the game in that fashion. So seems to me the Bills are yet again the perfect 'get well' opponent for a reeling Chiefs team that has lost 4 of 5 after a 5-0 start. But then again, who knows what (or who) was truly behind the switch and given the stubborn nature and ego of NFL coaches and front office folks they might simply be inclined to stick with Peterman especially if they have conceded the season is over anyway and want that top 10 pickdraft position. -
Not that this should be a surprise to anybody but with the Bills latest debacle, the Ravens are now officially in the #6 spot due to better conference record 4-3 vs Bills 3-4. So for anybody that still has playoff hopes it's Novemeber in Buffalo and we are now officially 'In the hunt' like years past at this time of year, at least for a few more weeks anyway.

The NFL needs Peterman to be good
SaviorPeterman replied to Over 29 years of fanhood's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If NP comes and plays like I think he will it will certainly be a great feel good story for the Bills and NFL as a whole. Also it puts us right back into the playoff discussion and a possible dark horse team if this offense starts moving the ball with NP and scoring points. -
This is why Tyrod was benched
SaviorPeterman replied to essential's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm not sure I believe that the only reason this move was made was because of some sort of ultimatum from Dennison. But sources close to situation did say that Dennison has been lobbying for Peterman for weeks because of the belief he's outplayed Taylor in practice pretty much since training camp and the more natural fit for a west coast, timing based offense that relies on a true QB and not a gimmick one like Taylor. Either way Dennison will be under the microscope now because if this offense does continue to struggle even with the QB change you have to believe he'll be one and done as the OC either way. -
Bills to explore trade market for tyrod
SaviorPeterman replied to The juice's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't blame the Bills for putting this out there but realistically I don't see any team trading for a guy that everybody knows will be released. But then again if a team truly covets him and don't want to risk a bidding war in FA then you could see a move done but not expecting much and we'd probably be lucky to get what we did for Dareus for Taylor (i.e. conditional late round pick). -
Nathan Peterman to Start this Week.
SaviorPeterman replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The day has finally come fellas. While I'm still very concerned about today's game, strangely enough I have a very good gut feeling. Anybody else feel this way? -
PETERMANIA is running wild in western NY ahead of his first NFL start this weekend!

LOL before anybody starts making accusations, no this is not another handle or alias of mine and I have no affiliation with this poster other than apparently being an ardent Peterman supporter. Something tells me the pro-peterman usernames are going to be popping up at an exponential rate in the coming weeks though.

Yes I did, because a good friend of mine is a huge Pitt fan. Also a lot of my contacts close to the college scouting ranks linked NP to Buffalo for a number of reasons, including his gritty leadership and ability to play well in cold weather. Overall this kid is very impressive even beyond his athletic ability. He's a devout Christian ( a true man of god), married his college sweetheart and very intelligent (he has his MBA). Here's a very good (and long) read on his background dating back to his high school years everybody should check out: http://staugustine.com/local-news/sports/local-sports/2017-04-22/faith-family-football-bartram-trail-graduate-nathan

I'm certainly not a Dennison fan and wish we went a different direction, but I'm willing to bet we haven't even scratched the surface of his playbook for good reason. If NP does as well as I suspect this week I get the feeling fans are going to wonder where on earth where all these 'new' formations in the passing game came from in the coming weeks and possibly look at Dennison a lot differently. Remember he did win a SB in Denver with a washed up Manning and Brock Osweiler as his QB's. Trevor Simeon was also much better under Dennison's offense last year too. Certainly that has to be NP's floor at worse but I think the potential is there for much more.
-
No it's not k-9 and you are right with this because NP has already shown this in preseason and the limited action we saw against the Saints he's not afraid to stand tall in the pocket under duress and take a hit. Remember he also drew a roughing the passer call on that TD drive in garbage time last week, albeit against a likely 3rd stringer on the Saints who hit him. Let's also not forget that when you take chances and throw the ball downfield good things happen including PI calls against the defense. I can't recall a season when I've seen so few of those against our WR's this year but it's because obviously we are at the bottom of the league in WR receptions as a team. Obviously going to guess that changes as well in the coming weeks.

Was the move at QB a good move or bad move?
SaviorPeterman replied to Mike in Horseheads's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's a moot point now that he's been benched but I think at best we were looking at a 2011 finish again with one more win after a sustained losing streak. Still very well could happen but I think this offense will pick up the pace and score more points by default the rest of the way because of how drastically different NP is compared to TT. (i.e. a real NFL pocket passer). -
Bills will likely be thin at RB in Sunday
SaviorPeterman replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Probably because teams have enough film on Taylor. The book is out so to speak on how to stop him. In his defense though obviously he did have that Losman/Lee Evans type of chemistry with Watkins though but at some point you have to prove you can do more than throw a nice deep ball from time to time. -
NP is likely going to take some hard hits this week too with monsters like Ingram and Bosa going up against this oline. But pretty sure he'll stand tall in the pocket and launch some rockets like he did in that game in Clemson, one of the best college QB performances I've ever seen showing what a gritty leader he is.

SaviorPeterman replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Just saw a stat on twitter that the Bills are #2 in the NFL with 73 runs that have went for no gain or negative yardage (Rams are first but they are an offensive juggernaut with their passing game). I'm going to go out on a limb and say this is yet another reason for the QB change because obviously teams know we didn't have a QB that could or would back them off from stacking the line up scrimmage. Also going to predict with Peterman this changes pretty quick as soon as he proves he will throw WR's open and anticipate where guys should be. -
I really don't see a scenario in which NP is completely terrible in his debut and part of the reason I think McD made this change now is because on paper this is the 'easiest' game of the next three with KC & Hoodie/Brady on deck. Don't get me wrong, this is not going to be easy against the Chargers for a number of reasons, specifically being a west coast road game and our history against Rivers and the Chargers. And they are probably one of the best 3-6 teams of all time given the circumstances. But they are 3-6 for a reason and their defense certainly has some weaknesses for this team to possibly exploit. Major concern is obviously guys like Bosa and Ingram who can truly destroy this online and make Peterman look like a rookie.

McCoy sounds very unhappy about the switch
SaviorPeterman replied to ProcessTheTrust's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm sure many of the veterans aren't exactly thrilled about this move. But all it takes is a few games and this offense looking completely different for most of them to be on board, especially the defensive guys if they don't have to be on the field all the time and realize that if they play hard again and can stop teams they have a guy that can keep them in games and possibly win them with his arm. As for McCoy, he's always been somewhat of a selfish, stat driven guy and if the running lanes all of a sudden open up because we have a QB that can beat defenses and get the ball downfield pretty sure he isn't going to care about Taylor riding the bench. -
Of course they are but to go into the eventual national champion's home field and hand them their only loss in a near flawless performance (308 yards and 5 TD's) is a performance that most scouts would have circled as franchise QB caliber as it translates to the next level. Especially since NP and Pitt were trailing by more than a TD in the 4th quarter of that game. NP is no doubt going to make his share of mistakes and I'll go out on a limb and say he'll have more turnovers than Taylor but he's also going to attempt (and presumably make some) of the throws Taylor wouldn't have dreamed of even attempting because of his game manager, protect the ball mindset.

Are we able to get anything for Tyrod?
SaviorPeterman replied to The Tomcat's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No because he'll be released because of the pending roster bonus. If we were going to trade him should have been before the deadline and we probably could have a better pick than we did for Dareus. -

SaviorPeterman replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I hate to root against certain players but in this case I"m hoping Tolbert doesn't play this weekend. Not that I expect Peterman to look his way much like Taylor did but I really think a guy like Cadet could be an upgrade at this point. -
Thanks for posting this, I was looking for it but couldn't find it. I truly believe that a few years down the road people are going to be asking how on earth NP fell to the 5th round. It's our time to finally hit the jackpot and get stupid lucky with a QB prospect that most didn't see coming. Not saying he's the next Brady, but certainly could be the next Romo and is a very similar player in many ways quite frankly.

Chargers preparing for both Tyrod and Peterman
SaviorPeterman replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This makes sense if anything because Peterman could get hurt early. But that's the only scenario I see Taylor getting back in the starting lineup, obviously McD didn't make this move for a 1 game or 1/2 game tryout. Also the Chargers aren't likely going to change much in the way of their gameplan against this offense. They will do what everybody else has in terms of loading up to stop the run and make the QB prove they can beat them. Only difference is now it's a pure rookie who likely will take his shots vs. a veteran who proved he can't and wouldn't throw the football unless guys were running completely wide open.
