I'm going to go with the secondary as a whole simply because it's asking a lot for any team to play well with 4 brand new starters in the DB/S positions. And just think how good this group will be next year with an overhauled front seven. They showed their potential already early in the season when the defense actually was stopping the run and getting pressure/sacks. But most knew that wasn't sustainable but could be next year with a real pass rush.

The End of the Nathan Peterman Era...
SaviorPeterman replied to KingRex's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes this is true, the starter gets credit for the win even though NP didn't finish the game. And I don't believe it would have come down to Joe Webbs play/overtime anyway had NP not left the game in the 3rd quarter. Bottom line is that NP still showed a lot of promise this year despite the Chargers debacle. -
Elway: Upgrading QB is the Broncos' Top Goal
SaviorPeterman replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
In looking at the top 10 draft order it's still hard to fathom any scenario in which the Bills will be able to trade up and get one of the blue chip QB prospects unless they are willing to pull a Saints/Ricky Williams type of deal (and there's about 0.0001% Beane does that given the holes this team still has and others created in the offseason). This is why I still maintain NP is likely going to be the guy by default heading into 2018 especially if we draft another 2nd/3rd tier rookie QB like we did with him last year. -
Even if McCoy plays he's obviously not going to be anywhere close to 100% so I really hope Murphy gets the bulk of the carries and we don't waste precious snaps on Tolbert. However since McD keeps pointing to Tolbert being a 'veteran' with 'playoff experience' something tells me we are going to see way more of him then we should.

I still like St. Doug as a coach but hope we beat him on Sunday. -
The End of the Nathan Peterman Era...

It still amazes me that so many people are judging NP on the chargers game given the circumstances: - 5th round pick making 1st NFL start - Road game against a hot team (who won 4 in a row after beating the Bills and 6 of their final 7 games) - 1st INT was deflection of a barely used FB in the passing game, also lost Benjamin on the first drive which no doubt changed everything they gameplanned for. - Casey Hayward is among PFF's top graded DB's in the entire NFL (I believe he had 2 of the 5 INT's) - Melvin Ingram and Joey Bosa are 2 of the top 10 DE's in the entire NFL. - We saw TT play against the Chargers and he did absolutely nothing against their defense either except rack up some garbage time stats. Bottom line, it makes no sense to write this young stallion off especially since he already rebounded against the Colts in what was probably a game played among the worst inclement weather conditions in NFL history. -
The End of the Nathan Peterman Era...

We are going to have two 1st round draft picks anywhere from #20 - #32 (likely #20 - #26 because I don't see the Chiefs or Bills getting past 2nd round). All of the 'blue chip' guys will be long gone by then and still think it's ludicrous to assume this regime is going to give away the farm to try and move up and get one especially now that the playoff drought monkey is off their back so to speak. Yes this team is in the playoffs but there are still a ton of holes to address (notably the entire front seven on defense) and it would be stupid to waste an entire draft (and possibly picks next year) to try and move up into the top 3 unless you are 110% sure the next Peyton Manning or Tom Brady is sitting there. The job won't be handed to NP so to speak, but pretty sure he can win it against a journeyman veteran and another mid round type of rookie that's likely going to be on the QB depth chart heading into camp next year. -

Yes and hopefully for many years to come. A lot of folks obviously aren't going to be happy when he's the starter next year..... -
The End of the Nathan Peterman Era...
SaviorPeterman replied to KingRex's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes and that's when the true Peterman era will begin. Despite all the talk of trading up for a franchise QB, I still get the sense that Beane and McD love NP and will build around him in the offseason. This doesn't mean we won't bring in another veteran or draft another QB in the mid rounds though. -

I still think we should have stuck with NP even after the Chargers debacle, we'd be no worse than where we are right now with TT and who knows we might have found a way to upset the Pats at home with him starting. Either way, despite all the hate and false narratives...NP is still 1-1 as an NFL starter despite both games being less than ideal circumstances (especially the blizzard game against the Colts). -
How many Bills fans will be in Jacksonville?

Actually at my company the fiscal year started July 2017, so we are already half way through the 2018 year in terms of business objectives. So these meetings are mid year and a look ahead to FY2019. Either way I must be sober and on point come monday morning! -
Enough's enough - This team went 9-7......
SaviorPeterman replied to Billsfan1972's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm starting to think the reason the Bills made the playoffs is because they shut down that god awful forum for good. It broke the curse! Just can't believe we are having such petty arguments in the greatest week most Bills fans have experienced in years regardless of our difference of opinions. -

A lot of false and misleading info here and I'm not embarrassed about anything. Also the fact that some folks keep bringing up NP and the Chargers proves they agree with the decision. Just too bad he's still not starting or we might actually have a chance to make a championship run.... -
3 options heading in to the offseason
SaviorPeterman replied to BillsFan3434's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes please. Still think a lot of folks are vastly underestimating how talented this kid really is and what a potential diamond in the rough we've stumbled across. And despite the horrendous conditions he's played in with his first two NFL starts, he's still 1-1 as a starter. -

Yes, and I still think this team could have won 11 or 12 games this year had NP started from day one which is probably what McD wanted anyway. And with the way the defense was playing the first month or so it would have help immensely in terms of NP acclimating and making mistakes like he did against the Chargers. It is what it is though and look forward to hopefully seeing NP next season as the starter. He's a very gritty kid and hard worker and will make massive strides this offseason. -

It's very high level....I'm in a very important position and have multiple meetings with corporate executives first thing monday morning to discuss sales strategy and 2018 strategic plans. This is also why it's hard for me to post here regularly sometimes but I try my best to stay active. -

Read through the thread Teef, lots of fans here have the wrong perception of how and why this team made the playoffs. Either way I'm done arguing about this and honestly regret posting in this thread (although my first response in this thread was against the OP and saying that it don't matter how the Bills got in). Some people just want to argue with me for no reason I guess, but I'm going to enjoy and savor this next week regardless. -
Dalton has had an up and down career but he's still 10x the QB TT is and would take him in a heartbeat. Can anybody even picture Taylor making that 4th down throw to win the game in Baltimore?

I have previous work obligations, I can't back out of them even for the Bills ending a 17 year playoff drought since too much is at stake. I'll obviously be watching on TV and rooting but can't join the party in Jax sadly. -

No contradictions, Dolphins were a losing team this season (albeit a very talented one with the best HC in the division after Belichik IMO). But again, some of you are acting like the Bills ran the gauntlet of playoff teams this season and beat them and also earned a birth in the tourney without help, neither is true. Can't we all just be happy the season isn't over regardless of the less than ideal circumstances of how the Bills got in to the postseason? -

I already explained this.......see 2016 Dolphins (playoff team) and 2017 Dolphins (non playoff team). Still no guarantees the Bills won't be terrible next year with the pending roster turnover. And backing into the playoffs this year (while nobody is arguing isn't a great thing) certainly won't change McD and Beane's plans especially at QB and purging an aging defensive roster. -

I didn't say he sucks John, I'm just not giddy and in love with him just because we ended the drought. And had Ravens won I guarantee many fans heaping praise on him would be bashing him unrelentlessly right now. Like I said, if anything Miami should serve as a cautionary tale for the Bills entering 2018. Because no matter what happens against the Jags a lot of Bills fans are no doubt going to have sky high expectations about next season. And it's next season in which we'll truly find out about 'The Process' and if it's for real. -

This team had several quality wins this season (@ ATL/KC), however both of those were offset but terrible losses against the Jets and Bengals (who ironically got us into the playoffs). And yes even though the Dolphins had a down season this year they were still quality wins given the caliber of coaching and talent on Miami's roster. And speaking of the fish, hopefully McD and Beane are paying attention in terms of a playoff team with high expectations heading into the next season failing.
